Poole have only had 2 rain-offs at home both of which are re-arranged. As Stated previously Poole and Leicester both agreed Monday 20th June to run their rained-off meeting - until it was realised England were playing in the Euros. MF said he would have gone ahead with a meeting despite the footie - if it had been any team other than Leicester, as he wasn't confident of a decent crowd!!

Its the away meetings - 3 of them - that have yet to be sorted - but that's upto the home clubs to sort out dates before the September 16th cut-off date!!

darcy ward said in the SS that he couldnt see many of the top stars riding over here if they had squads

Yeah cos it's down to money and they use the lack of a squad system as an excuse. Not all the riders do but I think Tai, Greg and Nicki do.

They are not that easily arranged, thats where you are very wrong old son. Why are you skipping school..

they can be rearranged and you know they can , poole fixture list from before season started showed the lack of fixtures in june , had all those months to arrange something for those weeks - no excuse

Keep your opinions to your self mate. If Matt could have arranged something he would have done. He's the one losing money, and so are the away clubs.

Do we really need more fixtures? Doubt it. Sweden & Poland don't. We need a fixed race night for the top division teams, Monday is the obvious choice since that suits Sky. You know your team will have a meeting every Monday night, you can follow them home & away. Sky or BT or Eurosport (flog to highest bidder) can do their bit by televising the Cup matches (do North/South league stage, then KO with top 2 from each) which would be on Wednesday, I think Danish League is Wed, Swedish Div 2 Thursday? But I can't think of a PL Wednesday team.

"Say the 'Magic' word"!

:t:

What on earth have you taken from that interview?

Having read it the headline should have been "Janowski being polite to Bournemouth Echo reporter so sits on the fence about Elite League return".

That was an absolutely 'no news' article.

the only reason ford wants squads is because he is the best equipped for it, with the largest amount of riders currently on his books

what squads would mean for him would be the ability to change his team on a regular basis as and when needed ie if he has a match at lakeside coming up

he will change his squad to include lakeside track specialsts , he will also do this in all other matches , other teams would not be in a position to do this which would give him an infair advantage

he already has an unfair advantage in that he can offer riders more money than any other club , riders nowadays go where the money is

This a thread primarily about squads and the possibility of getting some top riders back. . I only repeated the headline from the Echo. Magic is saying that he is open to a return if the squad system is adopted for next season. What's irrelevant about it??

Got a couple of you within an hour though didn't it?! :D

You seem to (purposely?) misunderstand the concept of squads!! Its nothing directly to do with assets. Every team's squad would have to be named at the start of the season. Any riders not named in a particular squad would be available for other teams to utilise throughout the season. The skill would be in selecting a squad that suits most tracks and that fits whatever points limit is in place.

Not sure how you come to the conclusion that Poole can offer more money than other clubs - they don't at the moment BUT they do guarantee that riders get paid!! Don't see whats 'unfair' about it at all.

Sponsorship is of course very good at Poole which MF works very hard at not just in Poole but often much further afield. ReadyPower, FIS Chemicals and County Crest Pallets for example are not Poole (or even Dorset) companies, but they want the best for their brand and that includes seeing the top riders.!!

maybe yoiu dont understand the impact squads will have on other teams

there were teams this year that were struggling to sign riders and therefore had to go for riders that couldnt fit in at other clubs

squads would mean them being retained in a squad making them unavailable for other clubs

do u really thing ford wont chop n change his squad members from the asset list of poole and peterborough as and when track specialists are needed

or do u relly thing that a club has stay with the same 10? they chose in march?
