What Changes Have To Be Made In 2017?

At Lynn for instance the track may be too grippy for mdl riders possibly, I guess this wouldn't be a problem at most tracks though .....

 

Possibly although one of the issues that MDL riders find when stepping up into league racing is the lack of set ups / experience on anything other than heavily raced slick tracks.

Will never happen though as no promoters will risk a MDL match taking place first, a crash happening and then holding up the mail event.

They could always start earlier, tho I know that's not an option at Kent, prob not at Wolves cos of the doggies and some others with restrictions.

while all these ideas have a valid point they all have the same end result , the rider spends money on parts with the tuner to get round this , it has to be regulated parts/engine only then the tuner can only play with settings

If that happened the riders might have to rely totally on their own skills perish the thought :D

If that happened it would become the age of the micro pilot. The smallest lightest riders would go fastest as they would effectively be ballast and the bigger guys like zagar would be a thing of the past.

next season there is talk of the FIM introducing a minimum bike and rider weight instead of just bike to address that exact issue

Why not just run them during the main match? Run them in-between blocks of heats.

Do nothing and let them get faster and faster tilll say one of the top riders in the world meets his demise as a direct cause being a passenger on an overtuned missile !!!!

Seems to be a trend nowadays that tracks "come to the riders" after a few heats, I assume that means gets more race able. How about mdl being run before the main match so that starts when the track has arrived as it were. Would also mean youngsters not having to hang about until stupid o'clock.

There may be good reasons for not doing it, but most sports put the main event on at the end of the evening not the beginning. Would also stop "we are delaying the start to let the big crowd in"

I'm not trying to put the youngsters down BTW, merely asking the question.

At Lakeside most meetings they have youngsters from the Hagon Shocks Academy doing 6 heats at 7.30 before the main event starts at 8 pm. Hardly anyone turns up to watch. There is hardly anybody there to see it.The vast majority of the crowd turn up between 7.45 and the 8pm. It's a good idea to give the juniors the oppotunity to move from the training track to the main track but it doesn't bring the crowds in.

 

The juniors ride totally different lines to the seniors but when it "comes to the riders" I think that has more to do with the track conditions changing as the temperature drops and moisture from watering dries out especially if it was heavily watered dur,ing them day, but actually Leigh Lanham is the only rider Inhave ever heard use that expression.

What I find annoying from the bits of speedway I watch,the constant need for restarts when someone or other gets a flier. As long as the tapes aren't touched, what's wrong with that?

I have said before and it has been said on here, British Speedway needs to head back to basics and grow the sport from bottom up meaning no GP riders and giving UK based riders more opportunities for a pay-day.

 

Bikes should feature standard engines or "limited" tuning to keep costs down and in theory have bikes more equal so its down to ability - pay structure should be fixed as already stated somewhere on this thread.

 

British League South should consist of 10 teams riding Home & Away once, top 4 into Play-Offs

Both Tatum and Havvy were biting their tongues last night about aspects of the sport including restarts and engine power ,these men have 40yrs experience between them and they appear unable to speak out about important issues in our sport.

This was so frustrating on Monday. I don't know if Kelvin can't speak out or not, he mentioned he had some technical ideas for improving the sport but that co-commentator person failed to ask him to expand on this between other heats. Something that would have been so interesting to hear. Does anybody know if Kelvin as ever spoken about this before and what his thoughts are?

Those above teams look even worse than PL. very watered down. No thanks. Would rather have the teams we have now but something needs to be changed with the draft and the format.

 

Should set a point limit for all 7 riders like before but make it that each team is to have a min of 2 Brits in the 7.
