Kent V Belle Vue Mon 15th Augg

Recommended Posts

A good close match with some good performances from the kent reserves Danno Verge,, and young Thomas looks a real prospect ,,James Shanes. was solid and.Ben Morley guesting for Luke Bowen,,11 from 4 rides was only beaten in heat 13 by the fast starting great prospect that is Dan Bewley who had the advantage of the inside gate,,Off night for Danny Ayers still throws points away and needs to calm down a bit to be a better rider ,,however he was just back from injury,,Williamson also rode well for the visitors .But Payne looked a bit all over the place apart from one ride he won..Decent size crowd shows a team doing well ,despite injuries to several riders will still pull in the punters....

Does anybody know who the after meeting rider was who was wearing an old Rye House Rockets race bib and who crashed on his first lap? An overseas visitor?

Does anyone know who the rider was who had came out after the meeting in an old Rye House Rockets race bib, and proceeded to fall off on the fourth bend. A foreign visitor perhaps?

An excellent size crowd last night no doubt boosted by the summer holidays saw the Kings be below par in places and still comfortably beat the Belle Vue Colts despite the close score line. With the excellent guest Morley, Shanes, Thomas & Verge all scoring well it was enough to carry a clearly not fit again duo of Clifton and Ayres who threw points away whilst over trying but in truth was being outclassed at the time of each fall.

The surface had been scraped slick after over watering pre meeting and that limited the racing action but there were still exciting moments.

For the visitors Matt Williamson was excellent as was Dan Bewley who looks comfortable as a heat leader. Lee Payne was patchy as was Woolley but both had wins to their name and had the controversial Shuttleworth been able to travel it could have been a much more nervy affair.

If the Colts can do something to strengthen their reserves they will pose a real threat come play off time & if the Kings don't get everyone fit and firing again the play offs may end up out of reach.

As a central park regular, I'd say Kents crowds are exceptional for NL speedway. Despite the 6.30 start time and the dreaded curfew the fans keep on coming, me included!

Yes the result wasnt a surprise, but the scores of Kents reserves were, seems Kent and Cradley have swapped Team building ideas this season, and i know which i prefer, well done to Thomas and Verge..
