Siggytastic 181 Posted December 7, 2016 Average fan who used to go every week (and caught the bus to The Firs) and started again when Foxhall reopened.

Bagpuss 10,831 Posted December 7, 2016 The old track was too narrow. Bit of a mystery why the new shape hasn't provided decent racing, I have been once since the change which was an EL meeting in 2010 and it was pretty good. Perhaps the change of league has had something to do with it.

Perhaps the change of league has had something to do with it. Got to agree there looks very little wrong with the track shape which should in theory produce decent racing. A quick look on google earth proves this. Perhaps it's other factors such as the type of shale used? Also agree that the old track was too narrow. Far too narrow in fact. Was maybe okay back in the day but as has already been said, the machines have evolved over the years and the introduction of the air fence made an already narrow track even narrower. szkocjasid 3,151 Posted December 8, 2016 How do people think Schlein will do, weaker league obviously, but he didn't do well at all last year!
Trees 2,814 Posted December 8, 2016 You need a miniature Polish shaped track these days don't ya?

Alan R Horne 33 Posted December 8, 2016 How do people think Schlein will do, weaker league obviously, but he didn't do well at all last year! Think he will do fine, he was injury plagued last season but if staying clear of those will expect him to reach an 8 - 8.5 average. A 9 average is far to optimistic. Super Blue 616 Posted December 8, 2016 I think alot will depend where Rory rides in the team as far as his average goes, if at 5 he will mostly ride with a reserve so would pretty much always be beating his team mate, therefore higher scores. At 3 I'm guessing he'd be riding with Kyle who could finish ahead of him. If he starts well in my opinion he could be pushing Danny for the No1 race jacket at some point in the season. But it's all about opinions as I've said before.
BluTiger 21,719 Posted December 8, 2016 I think Rory will do well to average over 8. A season without injury is probably high on his xmas list, he deserves a bit of luck in 2017..
89buttons 768 Posted December 8, 2016 Rory has always ridden well and enjoyed riding Foxhall, he's a very experienced rider and will have good equipment, injury free he'all put plenty on his average! A great asset in the pits too, a natural leader and team man that'll offer loads of help and advice for the younger guys,
tomcat 21 Posted December 9, 2016 Team looks good on paper, may even tempt me back for a look after 4 years or so, but one thing I do hope and pray for, is that everyone gives the two kids at reserve their full support all the way through, even if they have a bad night. They're taking a huge responsibility on at the tail end and need constant support and encouragement, not grief if they struggle. Some fans wanted Chris to add to the clubs asset base and give youth a chance, well he's done that in my view, now lets get behind them, like we used to do back in the day of second halfers getting a crack at a team place. Onwards and upwards Witches fans and hopefully see some of you in the new season ahead. First time in years I've actually felt quite excited about a coming speedway season.

I think Chris has been very wise this year as the format now allows Danyon/Connor to be very competitive. They will riding against some riders that they have already beaten in the NL and at home i think both will be fine.Away from home it will be a learning curve for both of them.Hume i think will do well at home especially,Mountain also has real talent it will be harder for him though as he is coming back from a bad injury.
