This is the return SGB Premiership league fixture between the two sides from when they met at the Adrian Flux Arena at the start of the month, the Norfolk side running out 53-37 winners on the night. Kings Lynn are normally spearheaded by the duo who won the SGB Premiership Pairs crown at the Oaktree Arena at the end of March, namely the 2012 World Champion, Chris Holder, and young British star, Robert Lambert, but with Saturday seeing the opening round of Speedways World Championship Grand Prix series taking place in Slovenia, it means that Holder will be absent from the Kings Lynn line-up as official practice for the meeting takes place that same day, and so the Stars have book Craig Cook, the current Oaktree Arena track record holder, as a guest replacement. The Kings Lynn top 5 is completed Lewis Rose, who had a short spell with Somerset at the end of the 2013 season, Dane Niklas Porsing and the 2013 Australian Champion Troy Batchelor, while at reserve the Stars track the two-time German Champion, Kai Huckenbeck and another young British rider, Josh Bailey. Somerset will welcome Patrick Hougaard back to their ranks after the Dane missed last Fridays home defeat against Swindon due to him riding in qualifying meeting for the Danish Championship, which, ironically, was rained-off, and team manager Garry May is looking for his team to bounce back from that defeat; There will be no better way than to put the disappointment of last Fridays home defeat behind us than by taking it out on the Stars, he said, whilst at the same time getting revenge for Kings Lynn beating us on their home shale at the beginning of the month. What we need, however, is for the Somerset fans to turn out in force once again to get right behind the boys as they look to get back to winning ways and if the on-track action is half as good as what we saw last Friday, then the crowd are in for another treat. Man for man the Stars should lap up the points from this meeting. g13webb 4,254 Posted April 28, 2017 When Buster was made chairman of the BSPA, I thought he was the one chap who could actually turn this sport around. But it appears he has made little difference. The sport is crying out for some sort of structure, so the fans will benefit. Probably the BSPA think the fans are the least consideration. They fail to realise that once the fans go the sport is no more.. The sport should be building bridges to encourage the supporters back, not arranging fixtures knowing SGP riders are unavailable. Having stepped up to the big league, the fans at Somerset would have pencilled in dates to see these star performers, yet a lack of thought in the fixture arranging has prevented this. This is no disrespect to Cookie but he hasn't been a World Champion. I am in no doubt the absence of Holder will effect the gate, and that should have been the first priority. You cant brush these issues under the carpet, unless problems get sorted they never go away. We want the leagues to run on specific nights, We don't want DU riders missing meeting through fixture clashes; We don't want Guests and R/R, .
