topsoil 2,498 Posted May 20, 2017 Really pleased for the club after getting the meeting on, to finally get the first win of the season. That's three meetings saved by covers this season. Brilliant work by everybody. Looking at things halfway through the meeting, it looked like things were going the way of the Panthers, the r/r was scoring way more than Kenneth Hansen and Ashley Morris was an upgrade on Bradley Wilson Dean. Dany Gappmaier winning heat 7 changed things around. Panthers were on a 5-1 when Bridger fell, 3-3 in the re-run, how often have you seen that in speedway? Then David Howe and Kevin Doolan came to the party. Nasty looking incident between Lambert and Etheridge. Hope the two are okay. Never nice when you see a rider high side like that. In Nick Morris we finally look like we have the number 1 we've craved for years. Hope this is the catalyst for a bit of a good run. Very small crowd tonight, not totally unexpected with the weather today. Hopefully the first win will bring a few back. Wonder how long they had "hallelujah" lined up for?
New era Panthers 2,055 Posted May 20, 2017 can you redeclare and include an injured rider whilst 1 of the riders you plan to drop could fill that gap (and is British as am aside) ?? Depends on what day you read the BSPA rulebook . I might try giving Dianne Abbott a ring she's bound to have some idea how it all works.
NeilWatson 1,988 Posted May 20, 2017 (edited) can you redeclare and include an injured rider whilst 1 of the riders you plan to drop could fill that gap (and is British as am aside) ?? Even if such a declaration was approved by the BSPA (Art 16.3.5) it would be pretty pointless as no facility would be available for the injured rider as they hadn't made an appearance for the Club (Art 16.5.3). topsoil 2,498 Posted May 20, 2017 Well business is business and I would rather see a full Panthers 1-7 picking up an easy win at Berwick rather that see a select side lose at Berwick. Sorry you never got your easy win, but business is business

New era Panthers 2,055 Posted May 20, 2017 Suspected broken hand for Lambert Sorry for Simon always seems to get the wrong kind of breaks, get well soon mate.
Baldyman 6,243 Posted May 20, 2017 Bad luck for Simon, get better soon, but maybe just maybe that helps the panthers, although he was scoring well tonight before the crash

Crump99 4,476 Posted May 20, 2017 Yep sadly. Who actually picks the team? Manager or promotion? "It is quite simply a case of Jason (Attwood) not being comfortable working within our structure where all members of the management team have an input on team affairs." allthegearbutnaeidea 1,734 Posted May 20, 2017 Unfortunate for Simon, always a good rider at Shielfield and knows how to use his height and size on the bike by blocking others when he made the gate, as he done with I think Doolan tonight.
crescent girl 1,907 Posted May 20, 2017 Dany Gappmaier invited to guest for Panthers at Brough tomorrow......
Crump99 4,476 Posted May 20, 2017 Lambert was good and Ostergaard was half decent but shock they're both getting pounded by the fans Some Panthers followers. The problem is bigger than those two, who, looking at their scores, did more than enough. I'm not sure what people expected with a 6 man team containing r/r and two guests.
DSC67 1,465 Posted May 20, 2017 Finally something to make the drive home a bit more bearable on what was a fairly chilly night although at one point it did look like it was another meeting that was slipping away from our grasp , but the guys dug deep and came up with goods , hopefully we can kick on from here and put a few decent results together
