A ORLOV 8,628 Posted June 20, 2017 The averages must be out. Somerset's meeting preview shows new averages for all of their riders for this friday's match v Leicester. No doubt the teams have got them and have had an idea of what they would be like for a while, but they are not on bspa site yet

A ORLOV 8,628 Posted June 20, 2017 Well Rosco will need them as we may need to check out a guest for Jason Doyle against Wolves
Bald Bloke 3,310 Posted June 20, 2017 (edited) Hope it works for Kyle Newman who was treated poorly after getting injured on Ford's crap track. Robbobee 144 Posted June 20, 2017 No doubt the teams have got them and have had an idea of what they would be like for a while, but they are not on bspa site yet Somerset site lists both the Rebels side and Lions team for Friday night although Garrity is listed twice ! Once at 7.09 and again as 6.00 so which is it and why ?

Now all we need is the new GSAs and the rules for assessing riders without a 2017 average.
SCB 15 Posted June 21, 2017 (edited) Garrity is 7.09 for Leicester now, thats 80% of his PL average from last season. So it looks like they have gone with a 0.80 factor, which Im happy with and makes some sense. Not sure how Lawson gets 7.80 though :/ Or Cam Heep 5.53 Edited June 21, 2017 by SCB

Not sure how Lawson gets 7.80 though :/ Or Cam Heep 5.53 Whilst you may be happy with his average, it seems to be in conflict with what the rule says in so much that the average may be given based on rides ridden. I'm aware that that part of the rule can produce some nonsensical averages but if they wanted to use some other formula, why oh why, did they not include in the recent rule addition? It appears that they are using the Poole method with rules, "make it up as you go along & fit it in to how it suits you. The press release cancelling Rye v Cov says Thur. Now all we need is the new GSAs and the rules for assessing riders without a 2017 average. It was already written into the original rule & nothing was amended when the recent addition to the rule was issued. It appears that they are making their own rule up as they go along if you look at the averages for Somerset v Leicester meeting on Friday.

CookieIpswich 249 Posted June 21, 2017 Next season should be more simple All riders given a starting average, this average remains fixed until end of May and rider transfers are done so based on starting average I.e if Briger starts on a 7 average no matter if it goes up to 9 or drops to 5 all changed are based on his starting average. End of June all riders are given averages based on how many meetings they've competed from start of season til end of June (rider must have competed in at least 8 meetings to have new average or it stays at starting average). Transfer window opens July 1st til end of July and thats speedway team changes done and averages stay fixed at July 1st averages until the end of the season. At the end of the season riders given new average based on July 1st attained average and end of season average This way at the start of the season riders can't manipulate averages, and end of season riders can't down tools either

mikebv 10,394 Posted June 21, 2017 (edited) Or Abbott and Costello... Whose on 4.3? Watt? No he's on 2.86... What? Yes Watt, he got a 2.86 riding for Rye House.. Who? No Watt, who does 'Who' ride for? One for the teenagers there.... However not sure about about Abbott and Costello but I wouldn't be surprised to see that the Three Stooges may have played a part somewhere...
