Yep Palin rewarded after his mega start to the year. Rathbone moves up too so potentially the reserves now become 1&2? Woodhull ships 1.8 off his starting figure and drops to reserve along with the non riding Bowen. Palin limited to 5 rides and guest reserve certainly weakens the Colts but not by a lot.

A spell at reserve should be what Woodhull needs to kick start his season.

Problem is with the way the fixtures are spread out there are only 3 Colts fixtures between now and 19th July. Experienced riders or those with a decent schooling of the basics will be able to keep sharp during that time, obviously some have other team places and others will hit the practice tracks. However if Woodhull continues to struggle at the tail and with no sign of the pie Man returning any time soon the Colts could finally start to look a little vulnerable.

Wont look vulnerable just yet. Hopefully an improvement in the side very soon ;)

I think Colts are team to beat in NL this season.

Certainly look in with a shout. I think the Colts like he Leicester Cubs will suffer when the reserves move up as those filling the positions are not as strong all rounders. For that reason i think Kent are still the team to beat but the KOC should be interesting between the two sides .

Aussie with a passport though? Surely Champ average doubled wouldn't fit though? ;)

Hats off to the Colts a hugely tipped and backed rider and massive swing in momentum towards the Manchester Club. All about timing still though and could yet see a weaker tail come play off time....but equally could see Danny Phillips at 7 if the others keep rapidly improving .

His Championship average is assessed so doubt it counts. The real issue is teams are now ignoring the x2 2.00 rider rule.

Both Jordan and Ben started on a 2 point average and now Connor is doing the same.

That makes it a total of signing three 2 point averages

Real issue is , why are they giving an Aussie a team place , are there no British kids without a team spot ?

His family relocated from Perth to Victoria a couple of years back to get him more track time and are now emigrating to the UK to give him the best-possible chance to become a professional.

The kid has patriality.      Like Rory Schlein, Mitchell Davey, Ellis Perks, etc, etc, etc

So he can ride in your National League.

Good luck, lad!

Kyle Bickley and Ben Woodhull also joined Belle Vue on the minimum average as a reserve too.   So it's a total of 5.   (as did Paul Bowen, so it was 6).

Leon Flint and Danny Phillips joined the NL on the minimum average, just not with BV.   In fact most riders come in on the minimum average.  Only those dropping from a higher league don't.   (can only think of Ledwith).

Of course there is a rule saying that you can only have two 2.00 riders in a team at a time.  This is to ensure that a new 2.00 starts at reserve, and isn't thrown straight into the main body.  (e.g. BV couldn't have signed Bailey and thrown him into the main body while Palin and Rathbone were still both occupying the reserve berths on 2.00.  They had to wait until one or both moved up on a higher average and a space became available at reserve)
