A full time professional who is largely funded by sponsors and a hefty points pot or a part time newcomer who may be making 900 miles round trips after scoring a single point (if they are lucky). Sounds like a brutal van ride home to me. in fairness most of the lads coming in are coming through the youth system so most journeys are brutal . I believe that there is an exceptance within the young lads that's what they have to do
mac101 1,201 Posted February 17, 2020 It’s a lot lot harder for us up here as its really 2 days for the iow trip and pretty much the same for Plymouth and it could be even worse if you get there and it’s called off and if the rider has a full time job , it’s hard to fit all meetings around work holidays it’s a hard journey back when you know you have got to start work at 7.30 the next day and you only got in at 4 2

mac101 1,201 Posted March 2, 2020 (edited) 3 decent ht leaders and 3 new 3 pointers and 1 has to ride at 2 or 4 which is going to be hard to score any points for one of them it’s got to be a decent last rider using the points left or could see them struggling home and away Edited March 2, 2020 by mac101

Mr Blobby 2,662 Posted March 3, 2020 Last signing has been a solid scorer or the devils could be in a bit of bother.

Most sides have built with 3 (and in Belle Vues case 4) 3ish pointers however the vast majority have experience far greater than the Armadale tail. Only Leicester look light at the bottom end but they have some big scorers in the main team. That said its still tricky to win matches with just 4 riders. You don't like Wallinger, now you don't like Phillips, you really do add value to this thread.

As a long contributing and informed poster in my opinion Islander has added a heck of a lot more than yourself. 1

The terrible teams of the past have cost opposition promotions a lot of money (not calling this a terrible side) and likewise a team performing poorly on track will make it difficult to attract a home crowd. Not sure if this side is running a double headers or not but if so and its an increased entry fee a few poor results could affect both home teams gates.
