The guy is an idiot. Seems they breed in the Plymouth area. Blaming Poole for Plymouths weak team. Expecting Poole to call it off. You couldn’t make it up. But they could yet get lucky.

Bless you

Why are Poole hated on here?

One man Steve Shovlar

Troll… people with no life do this to get a reaction

Bully … puts down most people on this forum …. And cries like a girl if anyone dares give it back

Wind up merchant….. nope he thinks he is but comes across as a grade one pr1ck and not remotely funny

Go back over this thread … he tries to wind up everyone .. gloats .. bullies and generally tries to p1ss everyone off

Sad sad individual…. Gets his kicks from bullying people and winding people up

The premier section endured this clown and now you poor championship teams have to read his bilge

I wonder why you genuine Poole and speedway fans don’t tell him to leave the forum as Poole threads would be half the size

The man has no speedway knowledge …. He had to ask who Spud was earlier … maybe he isn’t sure who Bomber or Loramski are either …. Oh wait no he knows them as they rode for the only team in British Speedway …..

Pirate effing pride …. Moron

Won't need too many more call offs to put pressure on getting all done by November..

Crazy that all finals get ran at the end of the season every year..

Should spread them out more...

Would keep interest and publicity across many more months...

And even more reason to do so with the cost of living increases that were predicted a fair few months ago..

Be a shame to have fans having to pick and choose what meetings to go to when these meetings are the ones where the trophies are handed out...

Happens every year because clubs rush to race league fixtures to try & make the play-offs.

Look how long it took the re-arrange the Scunthorpe vs Leicester cup tie or arrange the King's Lynn vs Sheffield League cup tie.

If clubs really wanted to, they could spread out the finals better!

It’s a shame and it really is what it is. There’s nothing Plymouth can do about it most are riding in the “friendly” meeting this evening and probably shows why poole were being clever about why they were so desperate to get the meeting run with around 6/7 days notice.

It is nothing but a full gone conclusion this meeting and then the home meeting is going to be pointless.

those saying it’s plymouths fault for using R/R for Kennett all season there’s still R/R for kennett anyways. There is no riders around to replace him !

it is what it is, one bonus from this season is exactly how good Plymouth can prove to be when Gary May supported by mark puts a team together.

Id have gone out on a limb and openly said that had we kept our originally agreed team for all season we would have won the league.

1-Lawson

2- Bowtell

3- Barker

4- MPT

5- Andersen

6- Gilkes

7- Atkins

so although this season is all but over and has been an up hill struggle all season with injuries I’m already looking forward to the team put together for next year.

by the way the originally declared team for Plymouth not one rider is riding tonight.. sums up our season.

BTW not saying it’s pooles fault they are running tonight if anything shows the worry they had fancying a full (ish) Plymouth team over two legs.

Andersen replaced Lawson, they were never both in the Plymouth team plan

It's not fair on Ben Trigger at all, is it?  He's being fed to the lions and doesn't stand a chance.

Hopefully Ben will follow in the example of Henry Atkins, move away and find life better away from Plymouth. Henry is flourishing again at Oxford, under the guidance of a supportive club and manager.

Not sure what Atkins gained giving up a Champ spot (because he got dropped from a race once) for a team that didn't give him a chance in the Champ?

While Atkins has scored well in the NL, he was given zero chances in the Champ by Oxford when MacDonald was out injured, they apparently preferred Killeen (who didn't beat an opponent at Champ level) based on ONE good score against a VERY WEAK Plymouth side.

I think its just another dig at Plymouth by this poster. Possibly started with a biased and bitter match report when Scunny lost there in 2021?

This is a very radical idea, I cannot see it being put in to practice.

Workington a classic example of fans having to pick and choose what meetings to attend when they won the treble...

Given they had to ride so many meetings so close together...

And they went bust off the back of it...

Three finals, more spaced out, meaning you can market them individually much better, with two getting ran in better weather, must be better financially for clubs and fans, and publicity wise locally as it keeps you in the awareness of the local populace as being "successful" which may stimulate more visits..

At the moment you win trophies and the season stops so no improved crowd momentum is generated even if interest locally is pricked...

And some teams start well and then get injuries, therefore they may have a chance of being in a final earlier in the season..

Some teams also start poorly then bring in better riders, so ithey could miss out on the early trophy/trophies but then be in the running for the play offs..

October weather must be perfect for running finals I presume..:D

NB: And running in October means that for many only two more pay days remain till Xmas, which, given the cost of living challenges, could impact attendances..

Attendances which finals should maximise...

It’s the same thing every season and no one ever learns from it.

Lakeside went under because they were forced to race meetings at Rye House instead of their home and against the same clubs many weeks running, sure losing their home track didn’t help, but had they not lost so much money there could have been a chance that promotion may have tried to use Rye House as a base the following season, to keep the club going, instead it was bankruptcy.

Promoters trying to pick and choose when they race during the drier months, leading to having to fit meetings in during the wettest, and no effort whatsoever in trying to come up with ideas that could protect tracks in the days and hours leading up to a meeting.

It’s always been build it and hope they come, and we will get by with the elements on a wing and a prayer.
