Jack Thomas chats to BBC Joe Dean about his crash

Listening to Jack talking about what injuries he has sustained I can't help but wonder how he was allowed to walk to the ambulance.  I saw Ben Barkers bad crash a few years ago and he wanted to get up but they made him stay still and put him on a stretcher to the ambulance.  Surely this should have been done the case of Jack's crash also.

The cover at practices is often qualified first aiders.

At meetings it is fully qualified paramedic.

No paramedic would have allowed Jack to walk.

Scunny haven't done wrong but the rules need tightening.

They definitely do need tightening I just hope Jack makes a full recovery and it doesn't turn out a worse case scenario when he said the following :-

"There's still a chance that even with this brace I could be walking along and lose feeling or end up paralysed but at the moment, I've got to be positive and as the riders have said, just look to get myself fit before I make any decisions about riding."

Am I the only person that thinks the safety fence at scunny needs to be looked at,only a matter of time until someone hits the concrete behind it and receives life changing injuries or worse!!

Jacks version of events is very different to mr Godfreys statement in today’s speedway star.
scunny are however changing their air fence to a polyfoam fence like kings lynn Glasgow and Berwick which should be much better than the current air fence.

Won’t make one ounce of difference , if it lifts, it’s the Armco that they hit that causes the majority of injuries.

A double change is still a potential  option according to Danny Ford in today's Speedway Star, as well as a straight replacement for Jack.

I believe the polyfoam is a much heavier than a airfence so should be less likely to lift

Way to narrow it down! Do you have to name a full 1-7 at P+P or do they have til April 5th? Imagine if we did a Plymouth and had guests for the season :o:unsure:

I think that loophole has been changed

Foamfences don't lift!     They are 'way safer than air-fences.

The news that Scunny are upgrading to foam is very, very welcome.

I'm sure I read the opposite. Can't stop teams being allowed a guest in case there's no one out there, so in theory a team could use guests from their 2nd match till the end of the season!

Personally I think it would be really out of order to drop a rider in March with no other team spots available, especially as there are options available for a straight swap for Thomas!
