If Josh is going to be out for a while i would be looking at Jake Turner

Probably lumbered with 9 point average if am right

If that case he no chance of team spot methinks

Should be assessed 8 for commonwealth lads

And don't think he got Plymouth average so to get proper NL one

Any thoughts on Berwick kicking out a youngster to sign a 36-year-old ex-Elite League rider who was banned for 2 years for failing to take a drugs test?

Embleton out injured for long spell methinks

There older guys than Boxall in NL ?

Interesting article from him in Star couple weeks ago

So basically Turner needs a CL team to get a NL place (and since Plymouth stopped him joining NL sides hes stuffed now). Turner also gets lumbered with a 9.00. That is unless he is now classed as having an established average in the CL then he can sneak in on an 8.00 like Pearson and Hook did......clear as mud right.

013.2 RIDER MATCH AVERAGES AND GRADINGS

Riders in the National League must hold an ACU licence and an SCB Registration.

a) New riders with a British Passport will enter the NDL on a 3.00 MA Speedway Control Bureau Regulations 126

b) Commonwealth riders new to British Speedway that do not require a CoS (ancestry rights) will enter on a 4.50 MA

c) Commonwealth riders new to British Speedway that do require a CoS will enter on a 9.00 MA and will be required to be included in a Championship Team Declaration

d) Commonwealth riders with an established average in either the Premiership or Championship League, with less than 50 matches recorded on the official BSP Green sheets, can be included on their converted MA. Any Commonwealth rider who has participated in 50 or more official Green Sheet matches, at time of declaration, is ineligible.

Only older one that comes to mind is Complin whilst Luke Muff is 6 months younger than Boxall. That said nobody used to complain when Mason, Armo and Tony Atkin were all competing

Correct. Roynon and Bowen are the only other NDL riders born in the 80's. Although a couple of years ago we had Ledwith [49] and Hurry [46] in the Kent team

Good signing, strengthens the team and might be able to finish the season with a couple of wins

Everyone wins at Home against Belle Vue so safe there, not so much against Leicester. Away at Oxford...forget it and but an outside chance of revenge against Edinburgh

Good grief, could it get any worse.

Why such negativity? On a sub 8 average I think it’s a no brainer. If he is committed as he says he is he’ll easily add to that average and it strengthens the team.

Surely this move actually makes sense? It’s only short term for the end (I can’t believe I’m saying end at the beginning of July) of the season. Berwick have 4 meetings then and by replacing an injured rider with R/R taken by 3 riders with a proven heat leader it gives them the bottom team in the league a bit more respectability and a chance to win in their final 2 home meetings. However if Boxall does hit the ground running, what’s the odds that he sneakily misses the final away meeting to not get a new average
