Wolves v Lynn 3/4

Trouble is r/r makes you so much weaker when it's the 3rd heat leader, 3 of the rides taken by second strings and reserves, how's that fair. There must be a fairer way for r/r to operate, maybe something like anyone can take a ride but the average totals for the 4 rides must not exceed the average of the missing rider x4.

In Wolves case, after Masters the next 4 are pretty close in averages, so using second strings to cover Becker's rides isn't an issue, a reserve having to take one ride, probably would hurt them the most.

How the averages luck out makes a big difference too, missing Schlein (7.14) and Masters gets a ride, missing Becker (7.11) and Masters does not get a ride. Makes a massive change to their r/r strength for the difference of 0.03 in the averages.

Whatever the system is, it will suit some clubs more than others based on how their team is built. Lynn & Sheffield having a strong reserve would probably make them the teams most capable of covering r/r.

Ridiculous. Opening meeting of the season and already being covered by guests.

Everybody should be forced to use R/R for missing riders unless there is more than one rider missing. Guests are one of the biggest banes of British Speedway.

The first meeting I went to featured a guest rider. That was well over fifty years ago. Additionally, I would venture that in a hierarchical list of 'the banes of British speedway', guest riders would not feature highly. Just an opinion.

Nonsense. It's one of the worst aspects of the sport in this country & why it's not taken seriously.

Poland won't go near guests as the league will lose all integrity.

One rider missing from the top 5 & it should be R/R. Any missing reseve is replaced by a club junior.

And we would be expected to pay to watch s--t like that

The sad thing is, it’s probably one of the reasons he doesn’t ride for anybody else. He can just pick and choose his matches on a nice suitable average to guest for just about anybody in the league - showing what a farce the system is.

Wrong. Hes actually agreed to doing eurosport meetings with Kelvin full time. So wouldnt be available mondays from may onwards.

Sensible move on his behalf, theres a vacancy since nigels passing so taking the job now which will give him a income after retirement.

Don't be surprised if he scores well tonight he'll be tempted to come back full time at Wolves. Its been mooted for years that Nicholls would eventually become a fully fledged Wolf. But that would leave us way under the limit.

Nicholls for Becker isnt a good idea ..but if Z.Cook didnt make it then if  the Ave came down..Nicholls at no 6 would be good....

No point in talking about nicholls signing full time. 28day contract maybe but thats it. Hes already agreed to a eurosport deal for prem meetings and GP and likely wont be able to get out of it.

It’s not fair but it’s the luck of the draw when you have an injured rider. This then encourages the team to go and sign a replacement or stick with R/R until the injured rider is back - but doesn’t include borrowing riders from other teams and keeps some form of team identity.

The guest system has been a joke for a long time. I remember back in 2008 when Simon Walker was injured for my team (Somerset) who was on a 6.50 average after it being inflated due to a large home average. People were disappointed when he came back from injury after we had Craig Watson and other riders well above his ability guesting in place of him. Should never of been allowed really.

Perhaps they  should take into consideration the average that rider holds Home & Away for considering guests, if you need a guest at home and the rider averages 7 at home, you can take someone to that average, if their away average is 4.00 then you must find a suitable guest for a 4.00  would even it out slightly

Unfortunately guests are a thing in Speedway its unfortunate that a rider is injured at the start of the season, better to have guests for this reason rather than riders who can't be bothered or a club signing a rider who has no intention of riding and forever using a guest or some form of facility for him/her

Not wrong at all - Hence why I said one of the reasons, so he can pick and choose meetings.

I rate Lynn, but don't think this is a track they'll do well on, so will go for a Wolves win 8-10 points!

Woeful from the top 3 of Klindt, KK and Pickering so far.

Plenty of more similar showings to come as well, KL are giving out serious Panthers 2022 vibes already from tonight's showing.

Can't see that happening as Wolves top 5 are all decent. Don't see their averages dropping much, if at all!
