Edinburgh v Redcar Championship 12th May 2023

Recommended Posts

STELLAR MONARCHS: Justin Sedgmen (guest), Lasse Fredriksen, Kye Thomson, Paco Castagna, Craig Cook (captain), Kyle Bickley, Jacob Hook.

AGILIA BEARS: Lewis Kerr (guest), Danyon Hume, Charles Wright (captain), Connor Bailey, Danny King, Jason Edwards, Jake Mulford.

Edinburgh's opening league fixture looks like another tough one. Hopefully Sedgy brings his gating gloves and the reserves benefit from the extra confidence big scores in the NDL should give them - plus Hooky's pretty good debut in the Polish U-24 league.

Another tough one. A win or loss will depend on what sedgy, kye and paco you get. Weather wise all good so hopefully a good nights racing.

Redcar will depend on what their guest does. IMO.

Redcar prospects depend on 3 Riders, Hume,Bailey & Milford , The other 4 Cannot afford to drop a point ,!!!
The young reserve Milford has not scored a point at home yet !!!!
I would be delighted If we can stay within 6 .

Mulford hasn’t contributed much either!

Agree though, Bears need their middle order riders to stop racking up lots of last places in order for them to be competitive away from home.

Paco won’t be given long on this form. That middle order won’t scare anyone.

Bears actually made it harder than it could have been - Bailey falling off (bike issues?) in his second ride, a restart when on a 5-1 and Bailey blocking Edwards in Heat 14 to get the Monarchs level in Heat 14, but the superb pairing of King Charles gated and were gone in Heat 15.

Better contribution from Hume tonight and Bailey had a good first ride at least. Edwards contributed again and Jake just can’t make a gate to save his life.

Monarchs obviously missed Pickering, Cook was ok but expected more and the rest of the team were very hit and miss. Looks like a team that will struggle sadly.

Excellent stream as always from Edinburgh.
