Workington v Leicester 10/06/2023 3pm

Recommended Posts

This Saturday afternoon the Workington GT Tyres Comets face the Leicester Lion Cubs in another tough League encounter.

The boys will be looking for a win after the defeat last week against Mildenhall.

Looks like Harry drops to reserve on Saturday and Elliot moves into the main body.

No news on whether we will be using a guest or rider replacement for Elliot. Always a bit of gamble using rider replacement in case you lose another rider early in the meeting which may result in only having one rider in a heat in the worst case scenario. Conversely it's also a gamble bringing in an effective guest at Elliot's average. Ace will be the only higher average rider able to take one of his rides .

Looking forward to this fixture and suspect we will need better luck and all round team performance than last week if we are to secure the points. UTC !

Crikey Harry drops from 7.11 to 3.00. Can't imagine any riders keeping thier place with that form. Thats worse than Dayle Wood and William Richardson. Interestingly Sam is very much heading in the other direction.....must make sunday dinner Interesting.

Yeah Harry needs to step up and help take a bit of pressure off Luke who is just returning from injury. Thinks this also applies to the skipper geoff. Need all the lads chipping in for sure.

Haven't seen much of Dan Thomoson to be honest so maybe that comment is  reminiscing back to the Roynon who was a Comets heat leader and former track record holder.

Dan is probably the second hottest rider to come out of recent British  Youth Championships after say Jordan Palin.

Gonna be a tough and interesting meeting, Leicester look a strong side, roynan could not be as bad this time as in the Edinburgh meeting, looking forward to seeing young Aston bougham looks to be a very good prospect 3rd week in a row he has been to the Northside areana, the comets need to be on top form and carrying no passengers to win the meeting, also a njl meeting then tha day rounded off by a group, another sunny day forecast :drink:. UTC

As Kelly is a second string, r/r may be the only option available to them. Pijper gets one ride & 3 for Harrison is good cover. Does mean Harry McGurk needs to take 4 rides though (unless they use a number 8) which I never thought would be a negative before this season!

Callum Foy is the A.R. but wouldn't expect him to get a ride.  Extra R/R rides for Pijper, Harrison, and H McGurk make Workington massively stronger than if Kelly was riding.

Leicester are weakened by the loss of D Thompson, and have a pretty much like-for-like with Kai Ward in for injured Vinnie Foord.  That means this will be a very comfortable home win.

Travelling up for this one on the Jolly Boys Outing :D

Looking forward to visiting the new track after many visits to Derwent Park.

I'm a neutral, being a Pirate, for this meeting but travelling with 2 Lions so there will be plenty of banter shared between us.

Could go either way so I'm excited with the prospect of seeing some great racing no matter who wins.

Keep turning left  :t:
