Being honest he would have been good for 10 points today so perhaps he done us a favour going away lol harry no better captain luke also needs to up his game,but some good racing with conner using that outside line on turns 3,4 to good use.

to be fair to harry his first 2 rides looked like he wasnt interested but his last 2 he looked a different rider

Have to agree, Jenkins as well as being the current NL Champ is the form rider in the NL at the moment. My point was Thompson is nowhere near the best rider in the NL.

Clegg by the way has a NL average of 11.83.

Young riders are usually influenced by their elder guardians. Henry Atkins was a lot like this, heavily influenced by his father and that often backfired for him. Thankfully, Atkins seems to have grown up now and is starting to show some potential.

Bit of a strange answer. Was his Dad so ill he couldn't have waited for a couple of hours before heading home? Presumably he felt well enough to travel up for the match? Very odd.

But did he get checked out by the medics at the track before the meeting. That's what anyone would do whether they were riders, track staff, officials, or crowd. Of course the father might have consulted the medics and then the referee, but it is strange that nobody has mentioned if it happened. It could save a rider getting a ban/fine, something he doesn't need just starting out and looking like a fabulous prospect,

A good meeting today some good racing, may have been a different result if young Mr boughen did not throw his  toys out of his pram !! Hope the several Leicester supporters enjoyed their trip Upto Costa del worky, also heard the ref Mr McGregor was very  impressed with what he saw at  Northside areana

Think the Comets got a bit lucky today. the Lion Cubs may well have won but for the disappearance of Ashton Boughen who had been so impressive in the U21 Semi Final and 4th Round of the GB Youth Championship and the unfortunate injury withdrawal of Tom Spencer after a first bend crash in his very first race. With no facility allowed for Boughen the Cubs had only one rider in 3 heats. At 38-33 after heat 12 the Cubs were well in the contest with Max Perry, Joe Thomson, Adam Roynon and Max James making a good fist of it. A home 4-2 and 5-1 in heats 13 and 14 finally seen off the Leicester resistance and secured the points for the Comets.

There was some good speedway on show which duly demonstrated the potential of the track to provide entertaining racing with the right calibre of rider. Connor Bailey was Comets best with a paid maximum and he was well supported by Luke Harrison, Ace Piper and Sam McGurk. Credit to the track staff who managed to subdue dust levels to a minimum on another hot and breezy day. It was good to see a good few Leicester fans in the crowd so thanks to all who made the journey. I hope you enjoyed your visit despite the unfortunate goings on with your No2 rider.

Noticed Roy Clarke was missing again today on the mic so obviously he hasn't fully recovered from his illness, get well soon Roy.
