Birmingham v Poole Championship. 19/7/23

Recommended Posts

Looking forward to coming up for this one. Can we still park at the One Stop? If not, where?

I am in Birmingham all day. Is there any place actually worth visiting in the area? Struggling to think of anything.

As for the meeting, I am guessing a guest for Morris. But whoever Brum get in shouldn’t really make much of a difference and I can only see a Pirates win here. Would be disappointing if we didn’t. Quite a few Poole fans making the trip up, and heard there’s a small coachload coming as well.

The weather looks set fair.

National Motorcycle Museum (close to airport) is a huge place.  Worth a visit for folk with biking interests.

AS others have said plenty to see and do in and around Brum but beware of the clean air zone if you plan on driving into the city centre.

Enjoy your journey up.

don't park at one stop as restrictions in place due to new owners . The stadium car park by the old car wash is £3 opens about 5.30 with gates open at 6  . Just round corner on A34 there is room for 45 cars outside Bracebridge Engineering and Kalsi Kitchens with a sign showing this and a volunteer manning it .

Thanks. I will check out the engineering works as don’t want to be hemmed in at the stadium.

Star City does not have any shopping. There is a large cinema there, a casino and a few eaty places. There is a shopping park close to star city call The Fort (near Fort Dunlop) but just general shops nothing exciting. Shopping in the Bull Ring/Grand Central or The Mailbox in the city centre may be considered slightly better shopping areas.

There's nothing exciting in, or about Birmingham.... full stop !:D

It's just the same as any other major city in this country, no more or less.

Hope you will have a good day - but beware of the traffic congestion when you make your way to the stadium. It isn't far from Birmingham City Centre, but it can get extremely nasty between about 4pm and 7pm. The City Council have spent millions on renovating the route from the City to Perry Barr, but it doesn't seem to have done much to improve the traffic flow, so allow plenty of time to make your way to Perry Barr.

Have a good evening though, and hope you enjoy the racing. I don't think we Birmingham fans have too many illusions about the outcome - but every dog has his day!!!!!!

That we would win a couple of years ago Brian and we were soundly beaten. Nothing is guaranteed!
