Lambert has an * next to his average.

The rules on the greensheets are as follows

assessed MA due to one of following

New Foreign Rider
Converted MA
New Rider
Re-assessed MA
Est MA older than prev 2 seasons

So using thier rules Lambert has a. "assessed MA" as it's an established MA older than 2 seasons!

I was also informed, regarding the *: "Next season that box will be changed as it is obviously misleading ..."

I haven't checked, but apparently riders with a * might well have taken a guest booking this season?

Maybe make them choose guests from the riders they've sacked off this year, there's plenty to choose from. At least they've been part of getting them this far.

Love to have jack holder next thursday

Isn't it amazing not one Sheffield fan questioning Lamberts inclusion,,,is it cos this year it benefits you?

i have not got a clue how we have got Lambert, the same way as i still don't have a clue how Belle Vue got him last year,

Looks like there’s going to be a lot of supporters /fans / keyboard warriors who never go having some sleepless nights this weekend. Stop taking the sport so seriously. Guest riders have been in use for donkeys years and the sport can’t survive without them. FACT. We can’t run squads. Not enough riders and too expensive. Are Sheffield expected to use 2 juniors to make up the team ? That will definitely help Wolves get a healthy crowd. Not. Just accept what we’re been fed.  Pay to watch or don’t go. Simple. Enjoy your weekend everyone

Those running the sport haven’t got a clue either. It’s one thing to get a guest, such as bomber for example who is a bona fide supporter of the league , but something quite different to bring in a carpet bagger who is just making up his money as the Polish season winds its way to an end. No wonder clubs are struggling to get fans through the gates.
It’s a pity they don’t have the ability to rule “ Not in the best interests of Speedway “ to give the league and play- offs some sort of meaning.

For what it’s worth…….

From 2023 rule book

“010.2.1

A Premiership Assessed League rider will establish an MA after completing 3 home and 3 away qualifying fixtures”.

If Robert was deemed to have and established average he would have had a new average calculated on a rolling basis. Due to him being assessed he had to wait for 3 home & 3 away.

“010.2.3 AmendedMA’s

With the approval of the BSP LTD GC or Directors for: -

a) riders who have been absent from British Speedway racing for more than 3 seasons (The MA may be increased or decreased)”

Robert’s average was reassessed from that declared last year. 7.61 up to 7.81.

“012.4.2 Guest Rider (G)

c) the guest must be in a current team declaration and have an established MA”.

Robert doesn’t have an established MA as his 2022 figure has been reassessed and he has already been treated as an assessed rider with him having to wait for 3 home & 3 away to get an established average.

2023 Premiership League TEAM DECLARATIONS and GREEN SHEETS Issue 32 states that Robert’s previously established average is no longer applicable due to being older than the previous 2 seasons and it is therefore assessed and cannot change until he has completed 3 home & 3 away meetings.

"Turning into a farce"?

I think that particular horse bolted a long, long time ago....

It wouldn't be UK Speedway without some make it up as you go along stuff though would it...?

Imagine how boring it would be if they had clear, unambiguous rules and regs, that were not subjective and open to challenge and interpretation?

It gives us all something to laugh at, at least, doesnt it...

Last night we had the 8 day guest  rule/NDL rider exempt debate, and next week no doubt there will be another one that gives us a giggle...

Best Wishes to Robert in his quest for another winners medal...

Could he be in a position to make it a hat trick next year riding for *(insert name here as applicable)... :D

If Sheffield can have Kemp as a guest RS, surely Ipswich could've had Anders Rowe?

Given that Tai's average would be enhanced by 5% at home, couldn't you have Jack as a guest?

I would venture to suggest that if Sheffield included 2 juniors the crowd would be  very large in anticipation of a win. And even if it wasn't it definitely would be for the final !

If Tai rides for Wrocław on Sunday but then doesn’t ride on Monday he must get a 28 day ban for withholding his services. The question is though could Tai guest for himself on Thursday?
