Touchy

Well, wouldn't you be? If someone went on and on post after post if you didn't comment the second a meeting finished! If I didn't say anything for a day or two fair enough. But was listening to press conference and travelling home!

Think maybe Joe as well? From how he answered questions tonight sounded like it. But time of year where you read into everything a rider says!

Joe has already agreed terms with another club.

What did he say to make you think he will be back, your reserves will be hagon and Perry.

Just that he improved a lot since joining Poole and was looking forward to carrying on that journey or words similar. As I said I probably read too much into what riders say in last meetings of the season!

With the touted points limit being so low, it’s important to bring in young riders who have the capabilities to improve. The Tarasenko loophole Glasgow exploited has now been sealed so there can be no repeat. So only genuine 5 pointers. Guessing all teams will have very inexperienced reserves, though I think it’s important to have at least one reserve capable of winning heats. There’s going to be a lot of two races in the same heat.

Couldn’t resist getting a dig in

What was the live stream like? Thinking of buying it to catch up. Sensible replies only please.

I expect it was pretty good, not a bad meeting, quite a lot of passing.

Just got back and how the hell did we lose that? Well the reason was clear tonight. Simon Lambert having his best ever meeting at Poole. I doubt anyone saw that coming and he was like Bomber Harris in the final. He has never done anything at Poole but tonight the track suited him perfectly. It was very different to normal and he excelled on it. Sure, times were about one and a half seconds slower per heat but it was the same for both teams.

Poole can look at the catastrophic heat 10 though. Pirates well clear and heading for an easy back to back 5-1 when Lawsons bike packed up, turning it into a 3-3. He got it going again (fuel issue?) but too far back to do anything. That mishap alone cost us a 47-43 win and a golden heat, such were the narrow margins. Then heat 14 with Zach leading but Newman fell trying to get on the 5-1, never the same in a rerun. Still, as the saying goes, you make your own luck and tonight we just didn’t make any.

We can also look at our top two who have gone off the bill in the last month, just when their leadership was required. Really not good enough, especially so Steve Worrall tonight who looked lightweight and lacking the grit required. He was obviously trying and managed to pass Douglas, only for Douglas to waft around the outside of him the following lap.

Still, at the end of the day, Scunthorpe were right up for it and hats off to them.

Competitions have been shared around this season with one each for Poole, Glasgow and Scunthorpe. Just one to go next Wednesday when Leicester visit Wimborne Road in the long delayed Jubilee Trophy Final.

Might want to watch heat 14 again scunny were on a 5-1.

Lawson was unlucky in heat 10 though.

I thought heat 2 could have easly been rerun, red lights came on with 2 laps to go, Kemp could have got Thompson.

All the Poole fans all cocky saying the tie was over and they choked huge huge choke

Poole specialist Douglas doesn’t win a heat and yet Poole still couldn’t win ….. Steve Worrall really has gone missing in both finals

So so sweet

Just checked and Steve was top scorer for Poole in playoff final and tonight from 4 rides Rich got 7 and Steve got 7. The whole team lost out by losing Anders and not getting his points from rr and every year it is hard to beat a team who have strengthened during the season and finish with a team whose starting averages mean that team could not have been built at the start of the season. Speedway has always been the same.

Well done to Scunthorpe with Simon Lambert doing a real captain's job.

Yes some things didn't go our way but overall we simply weren't good enough again when it mattered most.

And to those that may be thinking 'flat white' well I'm drinking one right now but not to drown my sorrows but to say eres to next season, bring it on!

C'MON THE BOYZZZZZ :t:

A bit if deserved silverware for Scunthorpe after a fine season,,hell of a performance from Lambert and not to mention Mountains effort, vital point from him

Fair play to Poole on yet another final, they are the team to beat constantly and deserve credit for that,

Lastly ,a good effort from the track guys down there to get the meeting on and a raceable surface
