I see that the draw for the U21 British Championship semi final at Plymouth has been announced on the BSPL website but I can't find the date or venue for the final in the fixture list and it is not mentioned in the semi final announcement. Is this another case of lack of forward planning in the sport?

Or , more likely, they are waiting to see which club would volunteer to run it based on any of their riders being in it so they might hope to attract a half decent crowd.

The draw etc has taken place a few weeks earlier than usual this year, the venue for the U21 final is hopefully to be confirmed this week. but as has been mentioned, a club has to take on the fixture and then suitable dates to fit in with everything else going on not just here but around Europe need to be agreed.

Old news now, but it will be at Ashfield on Sunday 2 June, 2pm.

Doesn't appear to be any recent interest in this but it is indeed today at Ashfield and being streamed by BSN from 1.30pm.

I don't normally do predictions... so I'm not going to start now :)

But surely you can look much further than Dan Thompson for this? Quietly goes about his business, with virtually no profile at all, seemingly ignored by Team GB, got on the rostrum last year. Should be between him and Flint.

Almost everyone I've spoken has Dan Thompson as the favourite. He scored 9+1 guesting for Workington past month and looked fantastic.

Hard to see beyond Flint or Dan Thompson. Hagon, Boughen and Joe Thompson (+ Ablitt if fit) seem best bets for third rostrum spot.

Dan Thompson is the form rider, Leon Flint is struggling & I find it hard to place him in the top 3 as he has been very inconsistent. Ashton Boughen & Sam Hagon have been putting some scores together. Then a whole bunch of kids that can take points of each other & trip up the stars.

I'll pick Boughen, D.Thompson & Hagon

Dan Thompson the favourite but Hagon and Boughen have looked pretty fast found Ashfield as well. Flint has to make at least the semi final this year (really he should be making the final) being a home rider now.

This should be a shoot-out between Dan Thompson and Leon Flint.  Have a little more race experience than majority of the field. Flint not in great form but has track advantage and when I have seen Dan Thompson he looks to have improved this season.

Agree, but I will be cheering for the lads with the Eagles connections, Ablitt, Foord and Hagon..
