Be interesting to see how our Newbies ride today following a challenging meeting at Shieldfield last night. It's another big challenge for them but 'm sure hope they will feel more comfortable around Northside . Going for a Comets victory today 48-42

What sort of crowds do the Comets get now? used to love the Saturday nights at DP when I lived up there 2004/5, Stoney and Steady, crowds of 1200. Whereabouts is new track, must try and get up there this year. Good luck for the season, great to see them back.

Hope you can get up at some point auntie doris be great if you could.

Nothing on their official website, not even a match report from last night, that’s poor especially as the gate opens at 1pm for the second leg

Stupid comment, the preview for the whole weekend was put on there on Wednesday.

And all the information constantly updated on Social Media, probably one of the best out there for a small one man band kinda thing.

Be interesting to see how many of the old fans turn up who said they wouldn't go to national league meetings

I'm sure this meeting will confirm why we wanted another year at that leval if only the bspa didn't stich the promotion up

Looking at the scores, some optimism for Worky with their new riders once they get dialled in..

Hope the crowd level was good..

That is the main result for Workington..

I know it's early days, but first impressions:

Claus - still got it

Tate and Antii - both excellent today even first time out, once they get settled in I'd expect them to be the heat leaders with Claus

Cook and Batchelor - best days are in the past but will still do a job

Celine and Sam - looking like the weak point, but let's give them a chance and see how they do against teams with similar level reserves.  Neither were going to challenge Hodder and Celine had a good second ride to beat Borke.

Sam should of been challenging hodder, more laps than most round Workington.
