Ipswich vs Oxford 18th April

Recommended Posts

(12/5)*4= 4.5.  4.5 more for one team is 4.5 less than the opponent, so a swing of 9ts

Harris 4  lol.  Remember what people saying about what he would do at Foxhall v Ipswich last  last year the final and will always score over ten etc lol

Have to say... very disappointed with Jordan so far... he needs to improve if the Witches are to win anything this year. If a change is made. Who?

Not sure about that. Jordan I’m sure will come good but we’re still unbeaten with a under performing Jordan.

Im of the same thinking tbf, i think Ipi can afford to carry Jordan atm till he finds his feet, he just needs a spell at reserve to get some confidence, young Dan is picking up decent points home and away and Ellis is doing his bit and like been said their still unbeaten so it ain't all bad.

I dont think conditions suited him. He is way better than that, Oxford did well considering Tungate missed his flight.

so nicholls outperformed his average by 4.5 which is a swing of 9pts.  this might have been more had he scored in ht15 as well.  kind of makes a mockery of the sport really

Ummm ... it's why they are called "averages" ...

If Nicholls has the wrong helmet colour on then surely he should’ve been excluded on the 2 minutes there. Or was there more to it like Oxford don’t know the rule book when it comes to changes.

There's a quote from Schroeck in the Oxford report: https://oxfordspeedway.club/2024/04/reaction-at-the-end-of-the-day-were-still-second-in-the-league-table-and-we-know-how-weve-now-got-a-very-strong-side-throughout-and-were-going-to-be-tough-to-beat/

Schroeck not being too hard on himself.

“No-one is harder on me than myself and I know I made a mistake in Heat 14 and could have put a reserve out with Scott. I’m normally clued up, but there was so much going on towards the end of the meeting and I missed an opportunity there and that does frustrate me. But at the end of the day, the only way we could have got a win would have been to also gain a heat advantage over Sayfutdinov and Doyle in Heat 15, when Ipswich had pick of gate positions"

Seems Emil still can't get a win in heat 1 - don't think he has won a first heat all season! Apart from Jenkins everything seems to be pretty much ok - he will drop to reserve which will hopefully give him some confidence. I watch a rerun of the Peterborough v Sheffield match from last season and he looked really good.

Schroeck was a dreadful TM at Rye House

Don't recall him being that great there as a rider either!

You would think wet conditions would suit Chris Harris than any other rider. Just remember all the stick  i got saying that Harris would not score well  v a decent ippo side.at Foxhall   ..Magic looking great as well i see. Saying all that if Tungate had have showed up they might have won.

Strawman argument. Harris's GSA is under 7 so no one should regularly expect him to score double figures.

He's outscored his average in 4 out of 5 matches so far this season and that's an admirable record, not a reason to laugh at him.

He's much better than his early season form suggests, Ipswich have time though because the team has been racking up wins.

Hope JJ can bring back his 2023 form back.
