Feel a bit bad for the lad for saying it because he’s been down in the dumps over his form this year but from a selfish point of view we could do with Tom staying at 1 and continuing to drop his average. They’re fully aware not to allow another club to benefit from a poor year here with us. The plan is to retain him and slot him in the middle order.    Brennan may have other ideas obviously so it’ll be down to him but they definitely want to keep him next year so we’ll have to wait and see what Tom wants to do.
