Just out of interest, how would the two of you suggest that they run a knockout cup with 6 teams ? Assume 2 would be seeded into the semis, so would that be the 2 finalists from last season ? As Northampton would be one of the quarter finalists, that would delay the whole competition as they are not going to be ready to ride at home until the end of the month. Yes, we can all be cynical about it, but I would say the format chosen for this year is probably the best option in the current circumstances.

Great showing from Sheffield. Last few races Bewley dug in deep but the result was done and dusted. A sign of things to come from BV away or was Sheffield just too strong? Etheridge will be a real trump card at reserve what an absolute steal on a 3.00 averageĀ

I suspect the first few meetings will be busy due to the novelty factor, but yes it could go south rapidly. History tells us that new or newish teams are usually in fire fighting territory early on. For example Milton Keynes 1990, Skegness 1998.Ā
