If we were going to sign bacon then either of MPT or Ully shouldn’t have been signed imo2 points

And we'd have plenty more if we didn't keep forcing British riders out of the sport because their average doesn't fit.2 points

Not a lover of Bonus Points other than for teamwork and payment. All 3 had a substantial advantage at home and nothing much between them over the season. This year it looks as though they will all be at No 3 so a good guide to their respective abilities but it will be tougher for all 3 to actually win races. Just pleased that we have these youngsters to give us promise for Team GB in the future.2 points

Each to their own I have zero interest in 22 men kicking a ball of air about, whereas I might have gone to speedway to avoid the wall to wall coverage of it2 points

Surely you know the score by now. One meeting in June; 2 in July ; probably 6 in August and remaining 10 the first week in Sept.2 points

Silly me thought Speedway was a summer sport. One fixture in June and three in July (two less than a week apart). Yep that's good planning on someone's part!2 points

Exactly, Mr Trees. The point is that all England World Cup fixtures have a detrimental effect on attendances at all kinds of other events. Most sports promoters would try to avoid clashing with one, if at all possible.2 points

My stance hasn't changed at all, the Chris Simpson thing should and could have been sorted years ago. People asked time and time again to help generate some atmosphere as the jingles and general presentation Chris did was more of the time than Pete York. ? is Mick doing it for the right reasons or because by doing this it gets maybe a few more through the gate. WIth the news coming out today about Jim Lynch it wouldn't surprise me to see him as co-promotor. The Leicester team looks really good and will effect people going to see Coventry who maybe we're sitting on the fence, it's going to cost my dad a £1 more to see Danny King & co! The amount of statements from and concerning the bees that have come out and I read that the past is in the past is ridiculous. we had it with him falling out with Sandhu, A few weeks ago the save Coventry bees committee and now Chris Simpson? The person who deserves the biggest apology is Colin Pratt and the way he left Coventry via a txt message. Ex employees and sponsors also show its not just people on the outside jumping on the bandwagon and to fall out with so many people and that's just the few we know about ! When does the penny drop? That said I really do hope those who do go have fun and wish the team all the best.2 points

The “BSPA General Council”? My, doesn’t that sound grand for an amateurish, squabbling rabble.2 points

The main problem you’re having is Ged’s Loyalty to certain riders who are past their sell by date and have no improvement in them. Until he changes his philosophy then it’ll continue to be more of the same. Again, changes will almost certainly be made and trophies are handed out in October not March. Even if the team to start with isn’t to your liking, at least you have one of the best tracks in the country and are almost guaranteed to be entertained every other week. Lunna will love the Showground when he gets to grips with it it’s right up his alley. He’ll be a big favourite.1 point

Nope. The draft system in the EL brought on Steve Worrall, Jason Garrity, Kyle Newman, Charles Wright, Stefan Nielsen, Lewis Rose, James Sarjeant, Josh Bates and Lewis Kerr and if persevered with could now include Wajtknecht, Bowtell, Bewley, Bickley, Jenkins and Kemp! Surely a brilliant idea if properly run and supported? Much better for UK speedway than having the likes of Graversen, Pijper, Etheridge and Konopka at reserve.1 point

Looking at the fixture list unless League Cup meetings count towards averages it could be July before 'new' averages come into force Could be all too late by then.....1 point

Nicholls if signed, will do well for the Panthers. But, that’s one rider who will take a hit on his average straight away which isn’t the name of the game. Not a chance he’ll even hold that average. As has been said though we know how Ged works by now and the Panthers team that finish the season will be much different and stronger than the one that starts! With fewer fixtures they’ll have to make sure they don’t give themselves too much to do though and make those inevitable changes as soon as possible.1 point

Along with the Olympics the World Cup is THE greatest sports tournament. An awful lot of people who go to speedway also like football and I think speedway fixtures need to be carefully planned while the tournament is on to avoid poor crowds. Of course it depends on the game on telly that particular evening......England v Brazil will have a different affect to Iran v Costa Rica for example!1 point

It is the solution to poor organisation and avoiding the end of season fixture pile up. They just can't seem to grasp that speedway is a summer sport and that's when fans consistently want to watch meetings. They can't organise that so the solution is to do less and to encourage supporters to find other interests, not twigging that they may choose those interests first in future1 point

It won't happen. The season starting in 2 months is the perfect reason to delay it as they can't knock things down whilst people are attending meetings.1 point

I wonder if the people in the houses next to the pits will be happy now that the track is next to them rather than 150 mtrs away. Also not sure why shortening the track will improve the racing ! Anyway lets see if it actually happens.1 point

Drop me an invite if you do plan one. I'd love to create a kind of "flash mob" for the hard work everyone on the Island is doing. Wouldn't it be amazing if we could get everyone who was thinking of visiting to go for the same meeting? Boost the gate by 50-100-200 who knows? Would certainly keep Barry & team busy greeting all the first time visitors1 point

Hardly real fans then, if they don't support your promotion just because of 1 rider. Most fans have a rider or two in their side not of their choice but still go to see the speedway. Exactly the same with your football team, when it is rare for a real fan to want every player on the field representing their team.1 point

If you buy a day ticket for the main racing only, its £28 (or £34 on the gate). That's not quite so good. You're right, though - just because something isn't comparatively expensive doesn't mean it is value for money and, in many cases, speedway does fall down there. I went to the Belle Vue/Wolverhampton TV match last season and, basically, everything was just bang on. A reasonably close result, some fantastic racing, an Aces win - we even had Chase the Ace doing a 'Staying Alive' dance. I paid £10 but even at the usual £17 it would easily have been worth every penny. All too often, though, we have crap tracks, ridiculous, unnecessary delays, poor presentation and riders who can't be bothered. All that has to be addressed, and soon.1 point
