Phew came through unscathed yet again and to send away the Panthers with nothing is an added bonus. Just gotta hope Jake Allen and KP get themselves back fit soon because although we’re still winning, (which is an encouraging sign) we’ll need them if we’re to stay where we are. I understand after yesterdays rain the track was literally flooded with standing water yet by this afternoon was almost bone dry. Very difficult task to get it into any kind of order Probably damp deepdown and a dry crust which then needed water but caused the patchy effect Given the circumstances I think Bob did a sterling job

Disagree. Nicholls, Wright, Tungate and whoever has impressed on their first outing is a suitable replacement IMO. Garcia is a trier, but no replacement for Jake Allen obviously. Allen’s continued absence can’t be understated he’s been a massive part of our excellent start to the season. Last time out without him we just about scraped home against Wolves and the Panthers reserves look much better than Wolves’ so Heeps won’t have it all his own way either. The missing KP also played a massive part in that narrow win over Wolves. I think we look vulnerable here tonight and we’re going to need BOTH Harris and Bellego to actually turn up to their home track for once.

Spot on.. Only give out their tickets at Edinburgh... No e tickets, no postage etc.. And do it when Berwick are not there! Maybe to ST holders first up to reward their loyalty and then if any left to anyone who wants one.. The sport desperately needs rivalries to create that much needed atmosphere which it is so devoid of at so many tracks.. So time to create it.. Its amazing how a great meeting lives no time in the memory when played out in front of one man and his dog.. And vice versa. You seldom come away from Cardiff thinking 'that wasn't good' because you were surrounded by lots of people and the atmosphere is great, even if the racing isn't for example, a patch on the NSS.. A chance for Berwick to showcase themselves and hopefully it forms part of a longer term much more detailed marketing plan on the back of it, as it won't mean everyone just turns up again at the next meeting. As has been proved several times around the country when other clubs have done this and crowds just drop back to normal after the special offer... It should be the starting point of a longer term marketing plan, not the only marketing plan.. Best of luck to them..

Yeah we all know about the rent agreement Derwent it helped keep Town solvent for many years just like the food and bar takings from the Speedway , not so much a symbiotic relationship then. Comets did have a very difficult 2018 financially due in part to circumstances outside their control but i doubt very much whether Town are in a financially cosy position. No doubt they will exercise their right to charge the Reds to play at DP in order to make up for the income they will lose from the Speedway . I'm a Town supporter so are some other Speedway Fans but what they have done to the track is making me consider not going again i'm so incensed. They have botched the place up for no great reason other than to try and get themselves a new pitch and changing rooms before the poop its the fan.

Think you're forgetting about a certain Mr Worrall currently plying his trade at the National Stadium who for me was the main beneficiary of the system, started the season at #13 on the list and finished at #5, as a Swindon fan I had the pleasure of watching the improvement in him and it was vast, before breaking his leg last season he was a 3rd HL in the Premiership and had represented Team GB and deservedly so.

According to the local paper we are having extensive work done during the home fixture break to improve the track.

A win is a win and to do it when considerably under strength shows great character in the team. If we have 7 fit riders and they all fire together then someone could get a hiding.

I said at the start of the season Swindon were 2 riders away from being title favourites ..... Jensen and Perks huge upgrades and if they can get the right rider for Zach I make them the team to beat

Difficult conditions spoilt the spectacle rather. Hard work out there tonight with it very inconsistent but you couldnt tell where the patchy bits were as it looked perfect!! This has been discussed in this thread Loose Diamond and THJ has outlined what is required the main facilitators being a promoter and a council willing to help. If we have the first then i'm really hopeful we would have the second.

So no benefit to the area at all then ? Not the Sellafield and NHS workers putting money into the local economy at lunchtime etc ? Not the new NHS facilities and clinics ? Not the staging of pop concerts and major sporting events that provide a large economic boost ? Not the vastly improved facilities for juniors and grassroots sport in what will be a community stadium ? No wonder this area will never have anything when all of the above is a “complete waste of money”. Sometimes I think the folk round here get what they deserve, ie nowt.

I am not sure what you expect the rugby club to do, they are quite rightly looking after themselves and who can blame them. The ground is a s***hole (and yes it was until last year, partly our s***hole). But there is no speedway club, it is no more, ceased to be, expired gone to meet it's maker AN EX-SPEEDWAY CLUB....... As Derwent says the pair of surviving clubs have to do what is best for them, and that obviously involved widening and relaying the playing surface. Also you have to have a bit of sympathy with them, as no-one seems to know what is going to happen regarding the stadium development. Hopefully it will go ahead....but who knows.....there's politicians involved!!!!

I have to agree. Davies didn’t hit over 2.00 last season to get a ‘real’ average and Cradley already have x2 2.00 men but the rules change so easily these days, there’s no point in them existing in the first place!

The track was left between 1987 - 1999 although tony mole altered it when he came onboard, i think town accept the stadium wont get built in time for the world cup and want derwent park to look better for those matches .

I understand your anger about the track, it’s not something any of us are happy about. But the other side of the coin is that as of now there is no speedway entity in existence to ride on it. Subsequent events re Laura’s finances have shown the claim that it was a one year moratorium to be completely untrue as the promotion simply don’t have the funds to resurrect it. I don’t see anyone on the horizon looking to pour money in either. So, what are people expecting ? The track to be maintained in perpetuity on the off chance that someone eventually decides to lose money being a speedway promoter ?

WTF is this reply. Parents follow the dreams of their kids, hoping to survive but to make a killing at a young age you have to be truly gifted.

Any fan (supporter) who comes to the Edinburgh match brings their ticket the following week and gets in at discounted price maybe £14 or £15

Let’s hope this reduced admission provides increased crowds and the club make more money with more supporters paying less to watch than less supporters paying more to watch Also hopefully the racing is good which would give any new supporters an incentive to come back I’ve always thought £17 is too expensive and puts off people coming hopefully a bumper crowd will show the promotion that this is a fact

I am no fan of Chapman however it is obvious with situation that developed it is Chapman or the end of Speedway at EOES. Fans did not sell the club and I suspect those that did were duped.

My guess is somone like MPT. I would like it to be Kenneth Bjerre as he was excellent yesterday but it won't be him as Buster does not think he is a heat leader !!!!
