That's a good lad , we told him most of your lot had a sense of humour bypass.. But seriously if that is what worries you then you should just throw the towel in , an 18 year old winding you up and the dummy well and truly spat. Keep it up Kyle you hit a nerve there.5 points

Not for the first time Rory Schlein throwing his rattle out of the pram, its quite embarrassing at times. We live in a reasonably free Country Rory you can always get another job.5 points

I can only add that the referee (Paul Carrrington) actually SPECIFIED that there would be no ‘calling it’ if either team thought they had an advantage and wanted do so ... it was set in stone at 10.15pm and nothing else...hence why it was announced. . and with the match drawn at the point of that decision it really could have gone either way. As for commitment to getting in as many heats as possible, anyone that was there will tell you it was fast and furious and the action all the more hectic coz everyone knew it was a race against time! i’d say fair play...?5 points

Having scrutinised the 2019 SCB Speedway Regulations, under 23 A : Penalty Guidelines for Meeting Referees, the following is stated:- "When a rider, Official or Motorcycle is unfit (including failing a drug or alcohol test), suspended, unlicensed or does not comply with the Regulations, then disqualification of the rider / Motorcycle from the Meeting may be mandatory. When a rider is disqualified from a Team Event due to failing a pre-meeting Alcohol or Drug test, or non-compliance to the Silencer, Tyre or Carburettor Regulations, then no Facility nor replacements are permitted in any Programmed rides". IMO this unambiguously means that neither r/r nor a Junior Rider replacing Howard should have been permitted for the programmed rides of the Monarchs number 3. I accept that this would have probably killed off the match as a close encounter for those, like myself, in attendance. Had Monarchs actually won, then Glasgow would have been fully justified to then appeal the result, which the SCB would have been obliged to overturn. For the record I am a Monarchs fan, without a "win at any cost" attitude.5 points

I struggle to get decent looking trainers with the width I need. Anyone else have the same problem?4 points
-
The likes of Bates, Garrity and Barker are often out of control during most of their rides. If they cop it so what, but it is the honest riders in the same races I have sympathy for as they usually pay for the others recklessness.4 points

he broke his leg riding for us and we could not do a collection for him .as I said earlier I thought he was hard done by. imo4 points

Sorry but that is not true. Read False dawn's post for an accurate description. Josh started his 'move' on the back straight and entered the third bend going way too fast. It was obvious there was no way he would get round and he was already out of control. I doubt if Nicol locked up either when he got collected by Josh. Just downright irresponsible riding so harsh or not it's the truth.4 points
-
I like Josh. He overrides and he knows it. But he gives 100%, 100% of the time and he is exciting to watch. But that move wasn't a racing accident. He arrived at the corner going far too fast and would have ended up in a big heap under the air fence regardless. Unfortunately for all concerned, Broc got tangled up in the ongoing accident and both riders now face an enforced break. If the track played a part, and I emphasis if, then Josh should have sized up his move having tried a couple of lines first. This was his first lap of his first race and only heat 3 of the meeting. He is growing in experience and he has to use his growing knowledge to make more measured moves. Throwing himself full blooded into move like that having not even ridden that turn was ill advised.4 points

Yes, I think so. It had clearly been heavily watered to keep the dust down (and they succeeded in that, there was none at any time on a hot, breezy day) but probably used too much as no further watering was necessary at any time. It left the surface very greasy indeed and meant that some riders had difficulty staying on and all were a bit tentative, leading to many races being from the gate (Coles brilliant win in heat 11 being a notable exception). At NL level in particular, there is a balance between ensuring riders can ride and spectators don't get covered in dust and that's not easy to achieve when it is both windy and sunny as it was last night. It was most encouraging to see a very decent attendance.4 points

a curfew is a curfew 10:30pm its been same since day 1. If you had been 8 behind before heat 12 you would have felt robbed for not having the chance to claw 2 points back & gain a point. If a meeting was declared before 10:30pm fans would complain they have been robbed of racing. Credit where its due . Redcar deserved a point tonight . But sadly the curfew kicking in just at the wrong time which is no fault of Leicester.4 points
-
Too true. A few weeks ago he looped at the start of his first race and didn't ride again. That's the sort of thing a junior would do, not an experienced rider. Tonight in his first ride he went way too fast into the 4th bend and no way was he going to get round. Unfortunately for Broc Nicol he took him out as well. Bates needs to seriously consider a career change.4 points
-
Bates is a liability on a bike , either not fit or out of control , crashes far to much and has injured another rider4 points

I'm sure Broc Nicol is not feeling quite so jovial as he's in a hospital bed with a broken collar bone, cuts and concussion due to that idiot.3 points

Must of missed that rain drop, it’s odd because even when it got called off before dinner time the forecasts didn’t look that bad? Majority of bad weather was forecast for after 83 points
-
This is the problem with the tracks paying far too much attention to the "one spec of dust and I'm not going keyboard warriors" and over-watering. A safe track as free from dust as possible is better than an over-watered track with no dust. Crazy in context of Loomer Road is that a lot of this "dust dust dust" rubbish is coming from a Cradley Heath fan and ex-rider Mark Robinson.3 points

Following recent meetings being cut short due to curfews, and subsequent discussion/argument as to their validity, is it now time for a rule to be introduced that, for every meeting, a cut-off time is printed in the programme within the details of officials and riders for the meeting - then, should a curfew be necessary, there can be no misunderstanding and the spectators are well aware of the situation2 points

Impressed by Jacob tonight... Improved in every ride and you could clearly see the confidence and speed building up throughout the night... Looks like he's going to be a decent reserve eventually Messed up his first ride after hitting Flint and nearly coming off himself... After that he got better... Bit more track experience needed I think... Should gave gone out in second half with Ondrej and Josh to get a bit more track time under his belt...2 points

Good result today and for once we were making some gates. What a joke mr Schlein was.Too much shale on the track ???. It's a speedway track what do you expect.? Our guests didn't moan and they don't ride our track every week either.Praise to all our team today and special thanks to the guests. The score should have been more as we dropped 4 or 5 points .Josh McDonald needs to calm down a bit ,he's trying too hard at times and it's costing him some points but you can't fault his effort.Glad Drew got amongst the points today so that should help his confidence.Unexpected easy win today against a team of whinges ( apart from Todd Kurtz) no wonder the sport is on its backside when experienced riders act like they have today.2 points

Make that a 17 year old. When you have just beaten your nearest and most bitter rivals, all too easily it seems, why not enjoy the moment? Its only tongue in cheek, after all.2 points
-
Schlein should get a ban for that little stunt The pat on the back from his mechanic and the big grin on his face in the pits is pretty disgusting and disrespectful to those who have paid to watch. Made worse by Kurtz popping out of the gate and getting the fastest time of the night so far... track can’t be that bad. Have always liked Rory, but have just lost a lot of respect for him2 points

If the tracks are going to try to hold onto some of the existing fanbase then they must avoid these kinds of situations. Tracks are to blame. The 'show" they contracted to supply was drastically changed and although there is no legal requirement to do better, the moral of the handling of these situations is clear. many supporters don't bother to go back or pick their meetings more and more carefully. Support can fall away very easily. All too often it feels like they are taking supporters for granted. In my opinion, they are!2 points

When using IRR you can only use riders below the injured rider in the averages, not 1 above as in normal R/R , so if it had gone to heat 14 Redcar would have had to field just 1 rider, because like you say Greaves had taken 7 rides. But I suspect the Redcar manager realised that the curfew would kick in before heat 14 that's why they used them up. It was announced that the curfew was strictly 10.30 & it was then 10.29, so there was no time for the 2 minutes to go on. Redcar did deserve a point for their efforts, Charles Wright was fast & even when he didn't make the gate he passed Schlein & Douglas with no problem. Good effort by the 2 reserves too, especially Greaves, best meeting i've seen him have at Leicester. I think if Nicol hadn't been injured they would have ran Leicester even closer.2 points

Spot on. Don’t think I’ve ever seen any rider go into the third bend carrying that much speed. Not really sure what he was trying to achieve so early on in the race either.2 points

The main issue with the 2021 World Cup bid is that it was secured before planning was even approved for the stadium they were going to hold it in therefore inflating the costs considerably by having to build it much quicker than necessary. I have no issue with World Cup matches being held in the area but this was all done ar*se about face !2 points

I think Edinburgh might just nick this today I will be going to support my team and as long as all those wearing blue and gold give 100% I will be happy, whatever the score. Hopefully see some good racing and the rain stays away.2 points

How does the cost of an additional paramedic compare to the loss from 50-100 fewer spectators paying to watch?2 points
-
My friend, please draw back from making rash decisions. This was a bad end to a bad week wasn't it? Regardless of the initial cause of the stoppage, this was an unfortunate and extreme example of this kind of delay. I know such delays are more common than they were back in the day due to the rules covering paramedic cover etc. But they are still unusual. I also became very impatient but as it happens the speedway that eventually followed was pretty good and hard fought. The commentator described the last race as the best of the year. I'm not sure I'd go that far but it was up there. The point is that I went home with the adrenaline flowing. Sorry to Redcar and their followers, you did deserve that point (but there was no conspiracy, please). Janet. Should you end your spectating career, I am but one of a very large number of people who would miss you. Think of all those forum friends you've met, the people who know you because they're Lucy's friends and just those who know you because you're approachable and a friendly face. The world of speedway would be worse off should you not return. David x2 points

But that is what has been happening for nearly ten years now. A process accelerated under the "leadership" of Chapman and Godfrey. And will continue until speedway as we know whimpers to an inglorious end.2 points

This was all about the Rugby World Cup...pushing through a bloody daft idea in order to bring a few rugby matches to the area, sod the speedway...sod the football, lets manipulate everything to suit Workington Town, let's not worry about the long terrm implications to the tax payer. What Allerdale needs is an new stadium that is fit for purpose and is financiablly viable, that meets the needs of all the local sports, that will serve the needs of youth development and the community, that will bring new business to the town and surrounding areas, that will look beyond today and to the future...Allerdale isnt just Workington its a huge area of West Cumbria and the needs of the entire area need to be considered not just one club2 points

Thanks Josh Bates for prematurely bringing to an end my 71st year of supporting Speedway ~ Leicester ~ Coventry ~ then Leicester again. I haven't ridden a motorbike for a good number of years but even I knew there was no way you were going to get round the bend with that reckless move and taking down another rider too. Time I reckon to re think your career as you are a liability on a Speedway bike. I left after an hour of waiting for paramedics/county ambulance and a good number of others did as well. I very much doubt if some of them will be back, including me. Sad but that's it now.2 points

Before a wheel had been turned, there was the Lawlor sacking. No disrespect intended, but that has turned out to be a blessing. I think Glasgow's impressive season is down to signing Kyle. Ok, hes had a few not so good meetings. However did anyone, in all honesty, expect to see him scoring so freely? I have been pleasantly surprised by some of his scores, turning close results into wins for the Tigers. Long may it continue.1 point

The problem is that a curfew being enforced is at least occasionally seemingly dependent on the score at the time. If the home side is losing by a couple of points, then the rigid application of a curfew doesn't seem to be so important. if they are winning by the same margin, it is essential. Consequently - and I don't know whether this was the case on Thursday - a home side insisting that a result is called when they are just in front can be seen by sceptical and cynical speedway fans as cheating and, lets face it, in speedway that's entirely possible.1 point
-
Personally I agree with you on that as it makes common sense. That doesnt mean ot will happen that way due to this being British Speedway!!1 point
-
To be fair even if you only class half those examples as cheating its quite a damning list......1 point

If BWD returned on Aug 1st and replaced Bates, Proctor would still not be at reserve unless his form slumped even more. Chapman is basically using Boro as a dumping ground and it sucks...1 point
