Ride in Britain full time or don't ride in Britain at all, I think that's fair enough.6 points

Bloody hell that line made me laugh ...........so Godfrey took it on his chin last season when he stopped Workington, Lakeside, Peterborough riding on a Friday as too many clubs were riding and he couldn't get suitable guests for his depleted team by injuries So we all ended up with 5-6 weeks gaps , crippling the crowds and racing fixtures on a Monday, Tuesday ,Wednesday in bloody October !!! He gained nothing last season in fact these were 3 teams that made the play-offs and one team scooped the "Treble" , he might gain 3-4 away points tonight against a weaker Redcar team but that's about all he gain Best of luck Redcar would love you to pull off the win6 points

Do you not think the clubs that have already held them didn’t lose money on it then?. What a total lack of interest in British speedway the owners of Poole have shown. How you can even defend this is beyond me as it’s one of the very reasons the sport is on its knees.5 points
-
He's not wanted in Peterborough regardless of the outcome he's just not welcome . Rather have no speedway than Chapman using the club just to keep the premier league alive.5 points

Credit to Redcar, tactically they nearly pulled it off. Welcome win for Scunny, given the circumstances, guess it's nowt to boast about...but a wins a win. Well done Scorps, did what was asked (just!) :)4 points

No!, run it as agreed at the start of the season. This Sunday at Kings Lynn. Good luck to all the youngsters..4 points

Doesnt ride for a Chapman team and dont really see the name Holder being in Busters mobile contact numbers.4 points

Seeing as though you quoted me I can only assume this is a reply to me? If it is it contains a number of errors. As far as I know I don't state "all" as my profile. I have a picture of a Middlesbrough Tiger as my profile pic and tend only to post about Redcar related issues. Don't ever try to hide that Redcar is the team I support. The edit I made to the Riss post was because of poor English and not about the number of meetings Riss wouldn't be available for. Not sure about the "know it all part" - I just stick up for the team I support If I think they are being unfairly criticized or ,in some cases, people are talking cr@p.4 points

I see on the Panthers website that Buster was disappointed with the crowd, one of the reasons he said was the gap between meetings! Well that was just over a week, after Monday we wait until September!!! Wonder what he will say then He sprouting the usual 'we need the crowd to provide a great atmosphere for BT camera's .... Actually we need a competitive team to get a crowd in. Or how about a reduced admission for Monday? Didn't read that!!!4 points

Think the fans are starting feel they are being treated like mugs these days and voting with their feet.To many Promoters thinking fans should just turn up and pay at the gate when they decide to hold a meeting ,well it just ain’t happening.4 points

Whoever is responsible, FIM or similar, are really missing a trick, fans from all over would love to watch this so make it pay per view and make some money. Not rocket science.3 points

To be fair to Ellis (and Riss) they are fulfilling commitments which were arranged presumably long before signing up in the Championship, the onus has to be on the governing body to either block their signings or work to rearrange fixtures so that they are always available.3 points

I think the only bleating and whinging going on was in the Ipswich pits after heat 15 last night!!3 points
-
I think those Poole fans who bleated and whinged like little girls all week about how they would get thrashed and showed absolutely no faith in their team whatsoever should not be allowed to support their team for the rest of the season as punishment.3 points
-
He can spout all he likes -he refuses to listen to the fans and from those I spoke to last night many will be turning a deaf ear! He was warned but as usual refused to take notice. He has better prepare himself for a bigger disappointment because I believe Monday’s crowd will be even worse.3 points

How delightful of God to deny his riders permission to take part in the 2v champs the night before the event was due to take place. Im guessing it was viewed as a threat to the successful GTR project that so much of the paying publics money was squandered upon rather than a potential positive move forward for the sport.3 points

Why the smug patronising BS Steve? Not needed and is why you are largely despised on here Poole won fair and square and every Ipswich fan has congratulated the team on here. Many stayed and gave them warm applause on the victory parade Show some humility for once3 points

I think there's an amnesty coming for keyboard warriors, not sure about blokes in shorts though!3 points

Congrats to Scunny - they got the job done, although made to work for it slightly more than they expected maybe. Jake Allen was superb, Barker as expected and Ayres chipped in well again. Auty's points on paper dont look great but actually thought he rode fairly well. Great effort from the Bears though. After Greaves and Andersens 5-1 in heat 9 i genuinely thought we could do it. Just ran out of steam a little bit towards the end, but gives me great hope for the rest of the season. Wright and MPT both excellent as expected, Greaves again superb from reserve and thoroughly impressed with Andersen. Woolley struggled, but with a full side there will be no pressure on him. Interesting to hear from Jitendra in the bar afterwards, who bears no ill will towards Godfrey. We offered a few dates, and Godfrey asked his riders if they were free but they all weren't. It was a risk we took when signing Riss, but one that in the long term should hopefully see us in the playoffs..2 points

He was brilliant to see at Berwick, it was the first time we have had a genuine number one in the team for a while (since Adrian Rymel), but unfortunately he did not add many to the attendance, so Berwick simply couldn't afford him. I just wish we could find a sponsor or a big enough crowd to afford riders of his calibre. Unfortunately...2 points

Probably right about the facebook page (as could be said about most teams) i just feel its a shame that the Ukrainian league or USA div 2 gets coverage and yet a UK based league that is designed for British rider development (however flawed or mistreated it may be) has been omitted completely.2 points

I HAVE read all of the above and respect everyone's opinion even if, as in this case, I don't agree with them.2 points
-
totally correct, but an ``on call`` member doesnt make calls like to take out a complete set of fixtures for an other team, more there to make quick decisons on averages etc etc,and with most issue like this sorted beforehand i guess the ``oncall `` member has very little to do2 points

I agree with another poster that the way things have worked out; throws the onus on Scunny to win this meeting ? Ben Barker should have no problem hitting double figures; he's already showing that he can be the big hitter away from home that we have lacked for a long time, Danny should be a big plus round Redcar. However record shows we don't travel well. It needs Jake more like himself and for Josh to do himself justice away from the EWR, and then we can be in business, If Lambert and Kinsley get amongst it and they should ? then I can't see the depleted Bears shoring this up ? Have to say if we do get done by a 4 man team then it will have been a proper "calamity caper"2 points

Yes, it is that lot. I'll also be speaking to Bob C, though, and given his opinion on this thread I doubt if he'll be complimentary. Anyone else whose views are invalid ? Perhaps they have nothing good to say because there is nothing good to say. I'd point out that the Dads Army mob used to be amongst the most committed and passionate fans the Devils had. They have attended since Plymouth opened in 2006, sponsored both the club and its riders, engaged in fund raising activities, worked on the stadium and track during the close season (I can even remember first bend Clive fixing the electrics during a meeting once) and travelled to places like Workington and Glasgow to watch the team. I doubt if there are many that can match that. Word is that Mark Phillips is losing a shed load at SBA . If fans like the above are unhappy, that should come as no surprise to anyone and simply denying that problems exist won't solve a thing.2 points

Well that was a shockingly good performance by the patched up pirates and we probably should have got all 4 points on offer. Special praise goes to our guest reserves, they were very good indeed, Jack looked very quick, in fact the announcer said it was a fast time in the first race, Josh got quicker as the night progressed and Klindt looked quick too, I believe I read he was a previous track holder and looked like it, unfortunately Kyle looked like his best days are behind him. Harris started poorly but got better and managed a vital heat 15 win to stop us getting all four points, Jack was all over him for 3 laps but couldn't get through and then tried to slow King's progress on the last lap to help Josh get 3rd which King didn't appreciate and they had words afterwards. King rode ok but was last in his tactical ride which didn't help them.Heeps was ok without catching the eye, Lawson was very poor, well below his usual performance, Kennet was ok and Allen looks like he hasn't fully recovered from his injuries.2 points

That's brilliant, but I expect to buy the Star to have all the things in it I have always purchased it for. Race times have always been there. You don't always look at them but they are handy when seeing how fast a rider who doesn't win races that often was travelling compared to others. I know something like £11,000 was saved by getting rid of match reports, but the mag has taken on a soulless state in which you probably find out more in reports about Polish matches than our own! There are surely wanna-be journalists out on the terraces that would send the Star copy of each match. Look how Natalie Quirk started as a 14 year-old at Belle Vue and where she is today. It seems like they have given up hope on British domestic speedway. But if you want to find out about a GP you have probably just watched on various devices, you are given seven or eight pages the following week. We don't see every domestic match and therefore reports from each were good. With the quarter-page section of every match for the week (and, I know, there aren't that many nowadays), you are merely finding out the minutest of detail. GPs, I'm afraid, are now just an individual arm of the sport that I didn't start to follow this supposedly team game for. The riders in it are far removed from any one club that I find it difficult to imagine any British team fan bothering who wins the thing or not. Maybe it's just me.2 points

No speedway is the nuclear option though, so Chapman, or anyone with similar gripes which are pretty standard over the last 15 years, is preferable to nothing. At least that gives future options, closure does not. As for NL, that wouldn't last a season. Nobody will turn up for 4 riders 20 yards apart at the pacey EoES.2 points

Agree with there Wolves were my favourites for the title but injuries have meant a stuttering start to the season but now they are getting to look like a decent team and it looks like Douglas has been a very good signing.2 points

Well of course he wont. You didnt expect it did you ? He gobs on and on and on, and now he's come unstuck. No excuses. Louis made a hat full in the write up. But , hey, if the Ippo boys think we will be "complacent" next thursday they can think again.2 points

What difference if he posts or not, as you keep on saying he's on your ignore list then you won't see it anyway or ........?2 points

Poole have never given anything back to speedway, it's Poole first, second, third and fourth and if there's anything left over, that as well.2 points

I think what did them was a disastrous attendance at a PLRC at Swindon a few years ago(albeit that the crowd was affected by a major accident on the M4). Stoke is at least accessible for Belle Vue, Leicester and Cradley and the gate the other week against the heathens was the biggest I have seen there for years. As I said, neutral is best but I can appreciate why that doesn't happen. It'll be interesting to see how many Sheffield pull in.2 points

This is a poor show from Poole. The boys and girls in the youth championship are the future of British speedway. Hopefully, people will turn out this weekend at Kings Lynn to support it. What a shame that the so called "champions" can't honour the agreement made at the AGM....Good old Poole......2 points

Another disastrous performance from the Panthers. I can accept losing but when we are not competitive then I find it hard to motivate myself to go. Don't care what anyone else has to say, Buster has ruined our season. I hear he was complaining about the low crowd tonight, well Buster just wait till Monday when the meeting is on the television and see how many turn up. Wolves look a lot stronger with the inclusion of Ryan Douglas. For us full marks to Rohan Tungate and Charles Wright who were the only two riders to come out of the meeting with any credit. I accept we have missed Hans and Bradley but tonight was not good enough. Congratulations to Wolves.....rant over.2 points

What is interesting to me is Birmingham quickly cancel their home meeting when Ellis wasn’t available because it would effect their home gate but are willing to go to Glasgow because they won’t lose out financially .Poor imo2 points

Godfrey declined to move the fixture. Why is that difficult to believe? He knows Redcar are short and he knows he has a great chance of winning so he's stuck to this date even though he was offered other dates that are not Friday's so wouldn't deny him a home date. He is hardly Mr. Squeaky clean and has previous for using ever trick in the book to benefit himself/ his club and many will say that's how it should be. Redcars promoter is new and has yet to learn the ' dark side ' .2 points
