In the absence of Alpen, we will will be massive underdogs for this fixture. I just hope that we can pull together and sneak 3 points. Copyright: Steve Shovlar c/o Piaza Navona. Rome.7 points

But that would give us Thomsen, Aspgren and Loktaev instead of Zagar, Iversen and Doyle. Is that really the way to improve the GP series?5 points

Leads you to believe? Its a fact. And no, i am not a Poole supporter whatsoever . I just like to pass comment when people seem to slag off Poole for no reason , doesnt mean I support them. I dont think i could ever support a club that has Lisa Collette and Starman as fans to be honest .5 points

Of course current GP riders should be allowed in the Challenge. It’s only top 8 in the GPS that are guaranteed a place the next year. It’s up to those riders outside of this years 15 to prove themselves worthy of a spot next year, and that means beating those 9-15. If they can’t do that it means they really in position 16 and downward.4 points

Then perhaps it should be included in the next GP TV contract, as a service to the loyal followers of the sport. If we can have meaningless practice sessions televised (I know the cost is marginal with the cameras already there), there must be a way to provide the pictures and show one of the most significant individual meetings of the season outside the GP itself. One Sport can get their irrelevant meetings televised, even if in Britain we're supposed to be grateful to see more than a couple of races. As for those practice sessions, the hype is truly at desperation level and was beautifully punctured by Woffinden at the last GP. Practice timings work in a sport with grid positions or where timing is essential . Neither have ever been relevant in speedway, well unless you include 'fastest second' from the days of second half Rider of the Night events..... Yes it's good for the sport to get an extra hour. The interviews are the only point of interest to me. I'd rather have three hours of highly significant racing tonight, involving the only stats that matter in speedway, 3 for a win, 2 for second, 1 for third. EDIT: Secondary thought: Surely Dorna are there for FIM TV? They have been in the past so if that is still the case the question of finding someone to televise it would be academic. The FIM TV highlights package used to be sold to channels such as Motors TV, like their ice racing coverage. #;4 points

Its pretty apparent which Poole fans are also speedway fans But Poole have their fair share of blinkered fools and trolls and multi alias fans ..........4 points

A) he earned his rightful place in the GP therefore yes, he can. B) you do realise why he's not been in the GPs this year right? Show some compassion.3 points

Either buster thinks we're all stupid or he just doesn't care what we think. It's the Peterborough fans I feel sorry for, The Panthers have been used as a sacrificial lamb all season. British Speedway is rapidly becoming a laughing stock under Busters control.3 points

Far too inconsistent from the gate. There is a reason he hasn’t had a permanent top flight spot for several years.3 points

Bit harsh, he was leading heat 4, when on the last lap, he locked up and came down. Cameron then hit Garrity's bike which acted as ramp to propel him through the air, a la Freddie Lindgren. into the air fence. It looked like CW might have smashed in to his own handlebars, and it was subsequently announced as resulting in apparently a possible broken rib. To be fair it was a simple fall by Garrity, and nothing reckless about Jason's riding, who immediately went over to apologise to Cam. Despite the scoreline, there was some decent racing, with Garrity inflicting Masters only defeat in the final race. Although Garrity's travel problems are a source of irritation and criticism, when he is on his game on the track, he is well worth watching.3 points

I totally agree. It seems a nonsense that those performing poorly in the GP can do so with the comfort of knowing that the back door is still ajar. No rider in the GP should be allowed in the GP challenge and should only be allowed in the following year if they cannot qualify on merit in the then current GP campaign. No wonder the sport is not taken seriously.2 points

Special mention to Speedwaylive.org whoever is streaming it deserves a medal !!2 points

But you don't know the why, where and how any more than me - so you can't assert 'he could have been there'. Anyway - would you lend Jason a bike............. :-)2 points

Hoping for: Fricke, Vaculik and Michelsen as the top 3, the only riders who could mix it at the top Level. Wouldn't mind: Lambert, Anders Thomsen, Bjerre or Niels Dear God no's: Pavlic, Ljung, Harris, Bellego2 points

Yes. It is the way forward for major events not covered by a TV deal. Take Sweden this year - PPV in use. 72 matches plus 10 play-offs over 5 months at about £16 per month. About £1 per match!2 points

It would be good to have the 1st heat start at 8pm, especially as speedway's good friend R/R will be appearing again!2 points

Then no one in authority within British Speedway can ever moan about a lack of mainstream media coverage Neil.. Nor can they complain about a lack of blue chip company sponsorship for their teams and the league as a whole.. Imagine, for example, Tesco sponsoring the Panthers? Their brand will be linked to such nonsense that is allowed to pervade week in week out within Speedway and therefore could become damaged by its association.. Ultimately this means there is no way these major companies would get involved with something so devoid of any credibility in the context of a bona fide National Sporting Championship.. In fact it probably is good news to a large degree that it is constantly ignored by the wider media given its so open to ridicule. Imagine Poland running Speedway like this with the exposure they get every week? Believe me, it wouldn't get anywhere near the same wall to wall coverage, fan base or sponsorship from national companies if they did.. Two months of what we accept over here would see a collapse of their Leagues and crowds akin to the GB levels as TV companies and sponsors would drop it like a stone.. If you can't do something properly then probably best not to do it at all as, with all things, you are only as good as your weakest link.. And Speedway in the UK have more weak links due to its operating model than is good for the brand..2 points

It’s what is needed to show the supporters that there club is worth supporting. If they don’t do something I can see the numbers go down drastically .2 points

Ostergaard, Becker, Morley, Agertoft. You’ve ‘never even heard of one of them’? • Peterborough stalwart for many years • 2019 Wolverhampton rider • 2018 Lakeside rider (did we race then at all last year?) • Agertoft as a CL reserve I accept may be off your radar. Given the timing of the rider withdrawals, and the other fixtures last night - what would you suggest? And no, postponement wasn’t an option.....2 points

TJ has been so frustrating. I personally like him but he's doing himself no favours. At the end of the day it's not for the lack of trying as he is so hard on himself when things aren't working out. The annoying thing is that there is a very good rider in there somewhere but sadly hasn't been shown enough. On his day he can beat anyone at championship level and even premiership as he has shown especially around Kings Lynn but we Newcastle fans haven't seen it much.1 point

Super disappointing duo to make it through. Fricke, ok, but the other two? Big yawn.1 point

It's the silly rolling averages, they are quite difficult to follow, TJ will drop to about 6.751 point
-
No he's not!. Granted 7.23 is his official GSA, but that is heavily influenced by last season with it being based on rolling averages. His starting GSA was 7.66. His average purely on this years official matches (without bonus points) is 6.51, more than a point below his starting average. It's even worse if you include start of season challenge matches!1 point

Rob does it his way, I don't want him emulating anyone, he's young, a very talented rider and is building up nicely. Just had a set back with this injury but fingers crossed it's healed ok and he doesn't have any more crashes any time soon .....1 point

One thing i will say though Pinny Ben really has tried to get better on the bigger tracks hence his move to the Isle of Wight.I do see your point though and Hume/Stoneman with prolonged injury free runs are championship riders.Your point about Evans is spot on and going back to the old Conference league the career of James Wright really disappointed me he was terrific for Buxton and Worky and also had a decent time as a robin.1 point

Search Faringdon on this forum and there's several posts, notably MARK 245's, also I see Bryn lists it as a track he's visited.1 point

The fans enjoyed the selfie session (my name for it) after the meeting on Thursday, they had the chance to have a word with the team on the track/centre and loved it, everyone who wanted to that is. Thursday was all about getting the win and the team did that emphatically Now onto Belle Vue Monday, now that's one we NEED to win, we're taking a minibus up there, looking forward to the trip1 point

NO, I think it’s Mike Bellerby and Trevor Geer. Please read my post again. Sorry to disappoint but there were no altercations on the centre green during the evening, - please stop posting incorrect information. Why do you have difficulty in accepting what The Doctor and I have to say, we were both there.1 point

Thomsen back odviously he hasn't shown he is good anough yet, also the Dane is aloud to have a stint at reserve. What real shabby treatment Nathan Stoneman and Danyon Hume have been dealt this season really poor we should be helping our lads not hindering them.1 point
