Craig Cook just been an idiot again, track staff were repairing damaged fence by starting gate plenty of people on track, Cook rode round to the starting gate even though referee put red lights on. Clerk of course walked up to him and told him he had to leave and he didn’t, so clerk of the course pulled his cut out.

It was a year ago today Dan Bewley broke his leg in 9 places as well as shoulder and wrist. What a day to break track record!

Is the manager really that clueless? Why oh why does Louis (supposedly in charge) not do what any right minded individual would do? A sad indictment of how a great name like Ipswich has plummeted in a once decent sport which unfortunately has little credibility left and partly because of one mans ambition to keep a third rate higher division going at any cost. Speedway in this country is not on the same level as most overseas nations and should by now have learnt to plough its own furrow. Each club suffers from irregular weekly speedway which affects the form of many riders (albeit double up helps but also raises the risk profile for a team) fixed race nights are a failure as far as numbers through the gate is concerned (you have the odd exception) and more often than not each meeting is a team of either six men plus Mr R/R thereby short changing the paying public or you have rider select. Little wonder even the stalwarts are walking away. Also rans is how to sum up the witches and they might just as well have a clear out now as they have little else to commend the continuation in the current league structure. Buy in an overseas rider by all means but get rid of the dead wood in the team.

Sheer madness to have R/R at 5. Always put it at two and have a strong rider in heat 8. Plus if you lose a reserve you are in the deep stuff

Poole is the best ~~~~~~~ track in the country.

According to the proboards site, 25 August 2018. That, however, is nit picking. I saw the crash at Workington and it was truly awful - I was actually relieved that his injuries were what they were. To break the track record today would have been a fantastic achievement no matter what. To do it after what happened is a remarkable one.

I think there may be a lot of truth in that, but it is also true that there are less and less and less fans, at all of those tracks, because the truth is that only two or three races in any meeting are worthy of the name. That is one of the main reasons why the number of UK supporters has plummetted over the last 10 to 15 years. Domestic UK speedway is increasingly perceived as poor VFM.

For me Lindback will not get a wild card Madsen, Zmarzlik, Emil, Vaculik, Freddie, Dudek.............those 6 seem safe Magic, Laguta, Kolodziej, Doyle........2 of those 4 will qualify Tai and Hancock will get 2 wildcards I would imagine the other 2 wildcards could be the 2 riders that dont make it out of the 4 i listed 7th, 8th 9th and 10th (currently Kolodziej and Doyle) The only other rider who may be considered is Lambert , but i only see him getting a wildcard if firstly Greg retires or secondly the organisers dont go for Laguta or Kolodziej if they finish outside the top 8 People with a lack of knowledge bang on about 'new blood'..would love the names of these 'new blood ' riders who could make the series better and be competitive

In 90% of cases I'd agree but this is the NSS we are talking about. Very unusual. Normally non starts provide the best racing but its frankly been awful. It's probably riding to quick.

My thoughts, my hope, was that Mikelson would have done well enough in the GP Challenge thus being in 2020 GPs, he didnt perform to the required level. In recent years there have been a few, very few, real youngsters who have performed well enough to grace the GP scene successfully, mostly Poles ie Zmarzlik, Janowski, Dudek, whereas notably the Pawlicki brothers have failed. Youngsters seem to struggle to do a full GP season, they may shine in an odd meeting, but other then that they can fall flat and that must be demoralising. As under 21's, and they still are, Drabik and Smektala were setting the world on fire, but only at their level - they were exceptional. Same with Fricke when he was world under 21 champ, but look not at Fricke, its a few years on and now he seems to be maturung to the next level. Lambert has had results in the under 21, still in it, but he is not in the same class as Drabik and Smektala (IMO). Let them mature a bit, the old school who are still showing the way will fade away, just enjoy them while they are still riding well.

Could even be that Tigers will feel they need points from Berwick to top the table (and get first pick in play-offs). Which should make them even more-interested in being at Shielfield.

Walthamstow stadium was iconic and was still turning over a tidy profit with decent crowds still watching the greyhound racing right up until its closure. Another place that should have been listed and the old speedway track was still inside the dog albeit tarmacked over. Walthamstow stadium could have provided the answer to speedways current lack of presence in the capital.

If every sport needed to be profit making in order to continue existing then there would little to no sport about now and that includes the Worlds most popular sport - football! - Look at the current plight of 3rd tier clubs Bolton Wanderers and Bury as well as one of the biggest football clubs on the planet Manchester Uniteds ongoing debt. Indeed without many modern day football stadiums being multi use venues, football would be even more unviable! The universally more acceptable athletics has never been profitable! I do feel that certain things should go above profit making and money for the best interests of society. Stadiums should be included in this. Iconic speedway stadiums like Belle Vue, Exeter, Norwich, Southampton, Wimbledon, West Ham, the old Leicester, Coventry, Cradley, Oxford and probably quite a few others should have been listed and prevented from being turned into housing estates. Had indeed been the case then the sport today would undoubtedly be in a better shape. Football gets afforded this allowance cause of its popularity and local communities all over benefit from it. and Like I've said before on here, Odsal could be staging football, speedway and stock cars if ways could be found to make the venue more multi use?

Michelson would be good to watch and would score points. He would be the only one I would like to see in the GP's from the younger guys.
