No you don't quite understand Speedway firstly it is about being entertained and hopefully the new customer coming back the next week.I am old but you are my age probably? ???? you are in cookoo land British speedway cannot afford to many W offinden/ etc riders end of.If we could great we cannot the days of the UK league being the best has long gone but it does not mean our leagues cannot provide entertainment.4 points

Eastbourne laid on subsidised admission for the travelling Leicester fans last night. The Lions are doing likewise today.4 points

Enjoyed the Sheffield match. Heats 13 and 15 spring to mind. Connor Bailey was the star for me last night. Beating Danny King in the 1st match and Ben Barker 3 times in the 2nd match. Enjoying watching this kid progress this year.4 points

Just starting it has been boring now for as long as i care to remember. Anyway he knows nothing about our club on how it's operated which makes his snide comments even more ridiculous. But it is the norm on here now, there are plenty like him on here quick to spout there pi* h whenever the fancy takes them. Perhaps if his club was operated as the best it might still be here today , so for him to criticise about any club is laughable.3 points

The way forward is to run to a budget and keep the costs down apart from Doyle,Iversen,Lambert, Fricke, our top two league's are pretty even.Speedway is about putting on a show and i have seen national league meeting's that are just as exciting as the Premiership. It is a MYTH about the top stars bringing in the crowds it doesn't for me Speedway is about a good night out and all levels can give you that.3 points

It makes a change to go into the playoffs rated 3rd out of the 4 teams. I think the only way we can make the final is to finish top. If we meet Swindon or Wolves in the semi final our season is likely to end there. We can’t compete with Wolves strength at reserve. Both ride like heat leaders around Wimborne Road. They would probably win both legs.3 points

Indeed you and and it was good of you to do so but there was no announcement from Berwick as there should've been IMO as there were several supporters at least thinking about going, you would think it was only common decency to announce Berwick were going there without a full team. Berwick's PR at times needs needs a huge improvement as does their official site.3 points

Well said. Old bob sadly has an axe to grind with certain folk at Eastbourne and his bitter posts are a little sad but so predictable. Sounds like it was a good night of racing which when it comes to it, is all any sensible fan wants to see.3 points

The racing has improved -- As has crowd numbers. Commercial Director has driven the community side and far more youngsters being taken to Arlington. Like the Daily Express , Speedways fanbase as a demographic is dying - so need to bring in younger fans Eagles are trying to do so. Most meetings have over 1000+ which is a start and seems as though with sponsors doing enough to return in 2020 .2 points

We are simply debating opinions here but in mine I think if we splashed out on more top stars (especially when you consider their wage demands), you would get tracks closing at an even faster rate than now, it just wouldn't work, you either go with what you can afford or you go out of business, same on the high street where only the cheapo stores selling downmarket rubbish survive. Cardiff does well but it's a one off that has become a tradition for many but it isn't a patch on Belle Vue but even the international meetings there don't do brilliantly. Imagine Zmarzlik at Belle Vue (or any other track), you'd need an extra two to three thousand more just to pay his wages, you wouldn't get them, then look at the state of most stadiums and tracks, the majority need bulldozing and replacing.2 points

I cant believe that Poole speedway has now come to the point where they would rather rake in money once then have a chance of doing it twice..... Poole pick Swindon in the semi finals....and lose........one home meeting with a bumper crowd Poole do what they should do and pick Ipswich............one home meeting and unless they choke then they will have a final home leg as well Are Poole fans that fickle that if they beat Ipswich that if its Wolves in the final that they wont go? Surely a bumper crowd in the final doesnt matter who the opposition is? If whoever finishes top doesnt pick Ipswich then the sport has died as a competition and sadly is only about making money Poole have won twice at Ipswich..Swindon won easily at ours once and battered us at their place..............why would either not pick Ipswich!2 points

I can't see us winning even if Wells and THJ both replaced by guests, might be closer but Wolves have by miles the best reserves and both going frighteningly well at the moment and that is why they will win the title. That is why we need to come top.2 points

As should any foreigner wanting to ride over here. If they are good enough to ride in another country the minimum should never be less than 4.2 points

Which is Crazy! Look at the top british riders in speedway gb squad at the moment they all came from a nl team! Woffinden scunthorpe bewley belle vue lambert kings lynn cook Buxton Ellis IOW2 points

Neither of them ride for a team owned by the chaiirman of the BSPA though, do they? That's the difference.2 points

justice in speedway . depends on who you know, and more importantly who you are riding for at the time of any incident .2 points

In general cubs/colts teams have virtually zero travelling support. From my frequent attendance at various NL tracks I would certainly place Kent as providing the largest (and friendliest) visiting contingent of away fans.2 points

There were fans calling for a couple of the team to be replaced but very few were questioning keeping Lidsey, most could see his obvious talent. I don't expect us to win on Thursday but hopefully we can improve on our previous performances at the new track. Fricke has said he wants to be back next year. Bewley is now getting over his serious injuries and showing again how good he can be and is on an attractive average. Lidsey is only going to improve and Bjerre seems to have good seasons when he's at the NSS. If we can keep those 4 we should have a good start to team building for 2020.1 point

Since Batch scored 12 points in each of our last two visits to KL I would think he would again want to show Chapman what he has been missing.1 point

It was a good move from the Eagles fans point of view, but disastrous in terms of team building. He was never going to match his starting average.1 point

Some great racing last night, track staff did a great job mid meetings to prepare the track.1 point

I wasn’t able to see the Wroclaw v Leszno match on Friday night, so can’t comment on the track conditions or the quality of the racing, but these reports are hardly glowing. I was at the 55-35 match three weeks ago, though, and saw some excellent racing. Looking at the individual riders score charts between the two matches, however, it would seem any changes to the usual track preparation didn’t make that much difference to the Wroclaw riders' scoring ability. There was, though, some notable differences in the Leszno team. For Wroclaw, there was really only Gleb Chugunov that had a notable difference, increasing his score from 1 point to 6 points. The others didn’t fare that much differently: Woffy 9 and 5+2; Max Fricke 6+1 and 8+1; Magic Janowski 5+2 and 7+1; Premyslaw Liszka 0 and 1+1 and Maksym Drabik 12 and 13. But the difference in some of the Leszno riders’ scores was far more dramatic, and the track conditions on Friday obviously affected these four very differently:- Emil Sayfutdinov UP from 7+1 to 13+1 Dominic Kubera UP from 3+1 to 8+1 Brady Kurtz DOWN from 11+1 to ZERO Bartosz Smektala DOWN from 11+1 (paid maximum) to 2+1 And, no matter how different it was, Janusz Kolodziej spiced up his 13 in August to a 15 points maximum. So, IF there was any intentional track ‘doctoring’ going on to flummox the Leszno team, it was far from an overall success – yes the 20-points winning margin last time was reduced to 4 this time around but, of course, Leszno themselves only scored 8 less points. It is just a huge shame if paying spectators were denied watching the usual high-quality racing and the Final not produce the excitement it was capable of doing.1 point

How has Hume performed this year False dawn?? no injuries which is great the odd fall here and there but overall what do you think.??1 point

Agree totally some of the racing last night was absolutely supberb, mostly when we missed the gate we were attacking from all angles.1 point

I think we will do ok! It’s going to be tough, Swindon & Wolves are coming into great form at the right time, but if we all click on the night anything is possible. This year has been interesting, with Matt’s interests elsewhere and Danny’s maiden year I think he has taken his eye off the ball when it comes to riders available. I know for a fact that our riders have approached Matt with recommendations for possible replacements for Ritchie. Some we’re blocked because of Poland and others not considered. Wells isn’t a rider Poole would normally go for, money comes into play I know but don’t think THJ comes cheap even though he was riding at Berwick too!! For me he was a risk and at present a risk that isn’t paying off, he simply isn’t the rider he was. I think we have been spoilt over the years with riders, and when the eye is taken off the prize at times it shows up much more!1 point

I’d never write Poole off in Play Offs however out of form or weak they may look, they nearly always raise their game when it matters.1 point

Ace if the Aces can get Palin, Flint, Bailey alongside there young asset Bickley to commit there longterm future to the club the future looks bright. No reason at all why all those lads would not ride for that great club and i hope all of them sign it would be great for there development.Last year at Swindon we had a huge disappointment of missing out but that is life take it on the chin and comeback stronger. This year the Aces fans can take the consolation of seeing young Fricke kick on and become a full time GP rider one hell of a achievement you have alot to look forward to.1 point

Very enjoyable evening first meeting was top drawer with several excellent heats , the Berwick meeting although one sided was also another good meeting mostly down to being outgated in several heats and having to come through the traffic. Connor was superb tonight you can visibly see the confidence growing from the kid , and Sam Jensen what a racer this boy is sh*te at gating right enough but that's why he is top drawer , he is some find need to thank Razzer for that one.1 point

Well done Somerset in the play offs again. I must admit I feared for us when Berge was a no show, but once again Gary has found a way. Definitely not a fan of the playoffs , especially this season where Leicester have been superb, whatever happens they are the true champs in my eyes even if we nick it. Looking forward to coming down next week for my now rare visits to the OTA for the Pairs. If you see me say hello .1 point

Its a laughable decision. Cook is guilty of starting the whole sequence of events which led to other bans. In essence his club as got off scott free....not fair at all. What is even more laughable is people saying 'leave him alone, he's got mental health issues'...well if that's the case he definitely should not be on a speedway track right now.1 point

Wonder if we should see if they'll do a collection at Eastbourne on Saturday to help pay his fine....1 point

Agreed. And Scotty is great too as he's grown into doing studio comms with Nat, not sure they would get a 3rd in the studio but another rider would be interesting.....1 point

I expect he is, especially considering he last rode for Somerset in the top tier. It's also well rumoured he was offered a 'less than handsome deal' to ride for Somerset this year though.1 point
