Leszno have thrived on finding outstanding young riders such as the Pawlicki brothers and more recently Smektala and Kubera. They are an incredibly powerful speedway team.....it's just that Zielona Gora have a habit of defying odds. Yet they can crumble at home as they did against Czestochowa. Either way, a one-sided stroll to the title is not what we want, especially since most of us, I suspect, are neutral observers. I hope Falubaz or Wlokniarz can put up a fight. I sadly can't see anyone else even slightly troubling them. Mind you, Lublin keep ,defying logic...

Can you think of any other sport where a player is rag dolled and back out 5 minutes later? A footballer would be out for 6-8 weeks.

If it was a £10 sport then more would go, and far more regularly, without any doubt.. Which can only increase atmosphere and enjoyment of the 'overall experience'. .. When the Aces tried it a few years ago at the old place, the crowds were noticeably larger, however the Promoters deemed it a failure as they took less money than the usual crowd at the usual admission.. So it stopped, and crowds dropped back when full admission was resumed... I presume it stopped because that was far easier than doing something about why the costs were so high that needed such a high admission charge in the first place.... The more difficult thing to do of course would be reducing these costs down to make something like £10 price point workable... Therefore it wont ever get done...

I believe he ONCE rode in an ice speedway event two years ago. However he has been a talented up and coming Russian speedway youngster for a few years (he's 25 now). For example he averaged more than Tungate, Klindt and Masters in Poland last year. You do him a disservice by being so dismissive.

i assume the £10 offer was done during the aces season. if so it was doomed from the start and riders pay and other things had already been agreed and so the only way. it was going to work was if it pay structure for the riders was put in place before the season kicked off .no point in doing it during the season . so to me it looks like riders demands are killing the sport . if they dont like it , let. them retire and find another job .. PART TIME RIDERS ALL DAY LONG FOR ME ...

By 'worked' I mean that bikes were affordable, tracks had dirt, nobody was paid more than could be afforded, guests were fewer, riders generally only had 1 team other than 2nd div riders occasionally doubling up to Div 1 temporarily. I have no objections to things moving forward but not when it clearly adds nothing.

Not sure what responsibility BSPL can have for a classic Landlord and Tenant issue?? By all means blame the BSPL for problems in their area of responsibility but this is strictly linked to a Stadium, The Council and the Landlords and Tenants and sub tenants

Could say he has never been the same since he won the world title. Was a two year spell where he was easily the best rider in the world (2016/17).

Doyle has gone the same way as Milik. Down. Had a good few seasons but time has caught up. No longer a rider to fear. The old guard on their way out and being replaced by younger, fearless riders.

Częstochowa is happy that Falubaz wasn't in best shape at the start of the season. Krakowiak destroys Doyle at his turf lol

Agree re Lambert.With Rybnik being as bad as they are they are over using Lambert by giving him too many rides every meeting.He only really tailed off in his last two rides this evening,8+1 from his first 4.He was the only one to get near Laguta as well,oh and beat him.A few on here expect Lambert to be banging in big scores all the time now.He's got time on his side to become more consistent and up to the top where he wants to be.

Crowds will never flock back. People will have bigger priorities than a night at the speedway. This pandemic will affect all spectator sports.

That is the problem. But I was thinking more like in the old days of Mildenhall with a few training matches and one or two individual meetings rather than top stuff. But I do think the trouble is everyone has to be in a league, which is too rigid

not a bad idea, but will the SCB allow a track to maybe run some bumper meetings and cream off more than others?

I do think and I have said it before many times is they have to be more flexible and let one or two promoters maybe hold just a handful of meetings a year if that is what will help more tracks to survive. Not tie everyone into a league

Sadly I doubt his employers would be too impressed if he employed the direct sell about pricing. There's only so far you can go with endorsements but I'd suggest the occasional mention such as "I read in Speedway Star" as you suggest would probably get through. It all depends on station policy. I once got in trouble for borrowing a colleague's tie from wardrobe when I'd forgotten mine. "NEVER wear that tie - I get paid every time I wear it on air!" I looked carefully and along the edge of a stripe was the name of a prominent brewery..... Product placement/endorsement can be a very touchy subject in TV.

That was in about 2002 and banter! Most took it as the joke it was and at the time and there was no real threat at the time. Like any speedway fan I didn’t want to see Coventry close. I mean, it was normally very easy points for us. And I hope we shall hear good news soon that they will return to action.

There are some new bright thinkers out there who have appeared in the past 3-5 years. Some have Business backgrounds. The structure and system though dictates that the "top table" is a combination of "dead mans shoes and cronyism". Until that is blown away the bright thinkers will only impact locally. Adrian Smith, perhaps the brightest of them all has hit the nail on the head. The Sport needs independent governance. Look at what's being achieved by Team GB and GB Academy since it was allowed to be run independently.

Anyone who has been around the sport for a major length of time in a Promotion capacity over the past 20 to 30 years or so, shouldn't be anywhere near heading up any plan for the future.. As they have basically joined in the fiddling whilst Rome burned around them.. The sport needs those who have come in recently to head up any movement forwards. They dont have the baggage of past failings and, hopefully, haven't been sucked into yet the "Ahh! But you see, that wont work, because this is Speedway" bubble..

Would be ideal model for Poole to follow. Make the stadium a community hub. Poole stadium is perfectly placed to do that.

Lots of decisions being made to "aid the economic recovery" which will make a lot of very rich people even richer. Then again I'm a sucker for a conspiracy
