  1. What a superb effort from Dudek given the circumstances and after the weekend he has had. What a ride under the pressure

  2. .....and this is why this is the best league in the world!

  3. Who cares? The "old system" is no longer used! We need to stop comparing things to the way they were, whether it was last year, 1976, or pre-war. The system is now identical to qualifiers in other sports, and nobody bitches about them. The important thing is that it is the same for everyone...

  5. I care... You don't, a few others will and a few others won't. I'm just comparing as it's an obvious topic of discussion

  6. Spot on Rob .. he was also hard on Freddie on the second lap .. Sadly you have people who can't see pass the team they support

  7. A very good weekend overall. MJJ under 9 was irresistible

  8. Lampart has withdrawn due to I believe a hand injury.

  9. Lampart is injured. He cannot ride. I don't think the other reserve can replace his rides, hence why there was no rider in that race.

  11. I am not sure about the scoring system, but it’s not ruining it for me! and speedway is often run on a gimmick stipulation, league racing has for years now been run using play offs which is a gimmick that can allow a team to come from nowhere to steal the top prize, same now in GP, have an average meeting, scrape into the semi finals, go on to win it and boom 20 points. The difference is though, league play offs are decided effectively over 2 meetings, Grand Prix’s are decided over 8 but often more.

  12. Which is why he shouldn't let himself be seen globally as a bit of a slapped arse... He has taken a few front wheels out of commission a few times, (and fair play for doing so as it is racing.).. So... Just don't moan when you cop a bit back.. Doesnt do much for your reputation with people who respect and admire you..

  16. To be honest, if Vaculik didn't crash, I don't think it would have reached 15. Lamport crashing didn't help too!

  17. If Vaculik isn't fit for the play-offs, it would be good to see the PZM let Zielona Gora use Artem Laguta as a guest. Otherwise, the semi-final will be pointless.

  21. Hello from the studio. I am making no predictions at all on what's going to happen today, I will just wait and see what happens without confusing everyone with maths!

  22. Depends what you mean by consistent (certainly not points scoring in main meeting)but not his fault to be 14 points up on his actual total.

  23. I firmly believe that decision by Frank Ebdon was more to do with ensuring Nielsen didn't win the title that year..

  24. What they're doing should be illegal. People who bet are already up against it. Odds should always reflect probability. The BSF should not be encouraging gambling, I would like to see @Lioness ban all gambling related discussions and close this sub-forum.

  26. I see what you’re saying, my point was more aimed at the fact that the winner of the meeting now gets the most points, on a meeting by meeting basis. Which isn’t a bad thing in my eyes. Of course we’ve had four rounds and four different winners. Out of those winners Freddie has been the most consistent in getting to the final in the other meetings so is rightly top of the pile right now. Without doing the sums I’d assume under the old system that Zmarzlik would be well clear now? If that was the case I’d dare say the series would be a foregone conclusion already. As it is, we could have a completely different complexion this time next week. As a neutral fan that is exciting.

  28. Am I alone in thinking the double header format is a good idea?. Assuming we get back to normal next year, how about every gp being a double header?. Gives us 20 gp’s a year that way.

  31. In fairness to Doyle the adrenalin must have been pumping directly after the race and on the podium, it seems they have made up now so all is good. I don’t think Madsen meant to hit into the side of Doyle, he picked up a little extra grip during the move and that was that. As a Doyle says he’d have done the same thing had they been the other way round.

  32. Enjoyed both meetings but nothing is more enjoyable than watching a homer chocking

  33. Doyle has moved plenty over and rode across many a front wheel over the years... And nothing wrong with that in my book.. Its just best not to bitch about it when you get some in return... As it makes you look a bit mad arsed, and a soft moaning 'git' when you get it back...
    1 point
  34. Yup. Twice rides Madsen hard and cries when it's done back!

  35. Has he? What that sort of stinking move? You need to educate yourself mate

  36. Isn't that the case with almost every sport? And to be honest, I'm one of them. I'd rather watch an average meeting with the top boys than a 'superb' one with juniors.

  41. Go on to Facebook and look for "The Speedway Chat Show". They did a live stream of an NDL level meeting last Tuesday at Plymouth. Last heat decider won on last bend. Super racing, plenty of passing, excellent track conditions. Track was not graded once. Good quality streaming, interesting Commentary, not perfect but raw and entertaining. That's 3rd tier , base level, small team trying hard. That's got to be the template. Find the level where it's affordable, exciting, streamed and viable.

  43. Speedway.......... The only motorsport I can think of that specifically uses a control tyre to reduce costs, even the playing field, and prevent a tyre war. And then allows the use of another alternative tyre. You couldn't make it up. Anlas have only been courted by various speedway bodies over the last few years as Mitas have been threatening to pull out for a while. So they allowed their use to keep them around, same as their encouragement with the Golden Tyre in the past. Can you imagine Ferrari turning up at the next F1 Grand Prix and saying, we want to use some other tyres because we don't like these Pirelli's and my best mate just took a kick back off of this other manufacturer. Speedway exists in spite of the clowns running it, not because of.

  44. If it wasn’t for this COVID stuff hanging around, I would have liked to have visited the IOW this year for a holiday (not been there for over 30 years) I seem to recall it’s nice place with so much character and it has probably one of the best run speedway clubs too.

  45. Thinners, Brake cleaner , anything that dries quickly , not wd40, wd40 was used by some including me to make fitting the tyres easier but only round the rim of tyre not on the tread

  47. Belle Vue - 10th October I bought two tickets for this meeting the minute I heard they were on sale. Strangely only back straight tickets were avialable online but undetered I went ahead. A few days later I spotted postings on here indicating that granstand seats were avialable. I wrote (nicely) to BV asking for an explanation and enquiring if it were possible to exchange my tickets. This was more in hope than expectation. Well ye of little faith Fd. The nice folks from up north invited me to ring and they would see what could be done. I duly rang this morning and a very pleasant lady cancelled my original purchase, helped me select two very good replacements and chatted for a few minutes about the difficulties of running meetings and the prospects for the SON meeting (nothing new to report, I'm afraid). I promised to publicly acknowledge BV's assistance in this matter and so that's what I'm doing. Thank you for your gracious treatment of my request for help.
