  1. I thought the two finals were a superb advert for the sport with two very good teams going at it for the full 30 heats, both tracks produced good racing and their cannot be any doubt that the best team won the title. The Panthers were written off by pretty much everyone at the start of the season but they showed good form throughout the campaign and carried on winning pretty much everywhere, apart from a few guests we finished the season with the same 1-7 we started with, we had a few injuries and attempts were made to change things but as per usual we got little if any help from the sports administrators which of course makes our success even sweeter. Every single rider contributed to our success so it’s hard to single out one rider, they all rode well over the season and some of them when they were carrying injuries but they all deserve credit for an outstanding season and the team spirit was the best I have ever seen in over 50 years watching. A special mention must be made for Rob Lyon, when he was made team manager I applauded the choice and he has done even better than I thought he would, he is light years ahead of some of his rivals and had a brilliant relationship with his riders. Keith Chapman has a lot of critics but he put his money where his mouth was and he has warmed to a lot of Peterborough supporters and trackstaff, he has the backing of the supporters club and has truly delivered, nobody can ask for anymore.

  2. it's a shame there are so many supporters that only turn up for playoffs when they're needed all season

  3. People saying the racing wasn't that good,,, no it was not as good as it can be/used to be,,, but was still far better than most tracks,, and would love racing to be that good every week at my teams track.

  5. More likely France will throw Goret vs Poland. Actually most teams will do it IMO. P.S. Well, maybe Lemon will use Etheridge off gate 1 early on.

  6. But Buster Chapman made the most money from the attending fan numbers so thats 2-1 to Peterborough now

  7. Well it’s all history now - the main thing is the club doesn’t make the same mistakes for the coming season . Definitely think Lynn fans deserve a good team after watching our closest rivals be crowned champions last night and with Alitt in his panthers hoodie in the photos and on tv that really sticks in my throat .Only in speedway would this happen it’s like the Norwich city manager being in the dug out at an Ipswich Town game wearing an Ipswich shirt .

  8. They do have three divisions so I think more teams in total.. The local council involvement is key as you say, but that is only made possible by the sports' standing nationally.. When you watch the Polish League it truly is "tribal" (as a team sport should be), and can bring true national focus and attention to that town.. There is no chance for example that Woffy would guest for Zmarzlik as both the Wroclaw and Gorzow fans wouldnt stand for it.. If he did well Wroclaw would riot, if he did badly, Gorzow would... And their TV Companies and major money backing sponsors would run to the hills with their contracts and burn them.. As is shown at Play Off time every season, the sport in the UK still has plenty of "followers" who come out of the woodwork to follow "their team".. With a Speedway meeting actually meaning something being the pull.. Many drifted away over here when "Guestfest after Guestfest" became common place, with the top riders in particular starting to miss meetings in the UK to pursue an ever growing international fixture list, and meetings got rearranged to accommodate their agendas.. Polish fans stay with their sport because they dont have such a ridiculous operating model to push them away.. Someone just needs to harness some of that pull of the Play Offs into the regular season by making every meeting an event worth attending.. The support is clearly out there, lurking in the background And that's at every club... It's frustrating how every season we end on a terrific high after watching and being enthralled by an inevitably fantastic 2 legged final... And then within a few weeks of the new season starting six months later it becomes very much "same old, same old".. Such a shame it cant be ran better...

  10. As a Lynn fan i actually wanted Peterborough to win.But Allitt celebrating really pissed me off too,as you say he has stated quite a few times that he is a Stars man.He does talk plenty of bull. The Peterborough fans have all this to look forward to if he remains there.

  11. People can say Dale Allitt was entitled to celebrate, but it really pissed me off seeing it on tv. He always made out he is a Kings Lynn Stars man. I was cheering Belle Vue, because as a Stars fan ,I hate to see our local rivals do well.

  12. I have never felt so detached and annoyed with our promoters than I do now. I want a promotion that puts 100% into Lynn and not one that is celebrating achieving the title with our rivals.

  13. Aside from the superb racing - congrats to Peterborough and Bjarne in particular - what about the terrific numbers in attendance and atmosphere. This was commented on several times by riders and commentary team alike. I sincerely hope BSPL/Eurosport and any other media partners can use the 2 Final meetings to 'promote' our sport far and wide, as despite all the moaning and negativity on forums like this, there are still superbly entertaining speedway meetings at all levels and on decent tracks happening across the country every week!

  14. Probably because he was in Denmark, it makes team photographs quite difficult.

  15. I quite enjoyed watching barker on track last season as you never new what you would get on track and was a bit of an enigma and better equipment might of helped the cause. His off track antics did him no favours whatsoever but would I have him back it would be a no.However I would like to see Connor Mountain back in 2022

  16. Lemon also made another mistake i feel by using Bewley in ht4 for the RR he maybe wanted the quick start but what it did was give Peterborough ht6 to ht11 without him to think about, that period in the match won Peterborough the title as they hit the aces whilst Bewley sat in the pits not being able to have any influence in the middle section of the match

  17. Well done to the Panthers but what has happened to your track, has Buster destroyed it like he has Kings Lynn, if that was a normal meeting you would all be moaning about no passing and one line, it was only the incredible effort from the rider's and some rider errors that made the racing as good as it was which wouldn't have happened in a league meeting.

  18. What a night,, what an atmosphere,,, I went there as a neutral,,, but after bout 3 races I was shouting the Panthers riders on like they were my own team, first time standing on back straight and it looked so fast in the dark. Really pleased for the Panthers fans,, and to be honest a bit jealous my team never seem to have the bottle to see things through,,,, also commiserations to Aces fans,,, I know how you feel,, its been a long time. Oh and that's all fans bar Geoff/NSS1,, he's a total plank, that we won't see again for a few months.

  19. Was also a nice touch with the Belle Vue riders coming out after the meeting shaking hands/fist pumps etc. Would have been easy just to pack up and leave.

  20. Always a chance of revenge tomorrow. At Ibrox against a team from Edinburgh it’s all I have left.

  21. True. The only other one is Marcin didn’t take any spectators out on bend one.

  22. We’ll done to Edinburgh thoroughly deserved, it is pretty worrying how p*ss we actually were tonight. But we can have no complaints well beaten by the better team on the night. Can we be as bad again tomorrow night probably without our best rider tonight in young Tom. Serious questions about the mentality of this team it’s time for them to step up tomorrow and keep it close. Only positive you can take is that Edinburgh may solve the problem of us fitting meetings in by 9.30 tomorrow night.

  24. Still nothing from the Aces number 1 fan,, just goes to show what a sad low life looser he really is.

  25. This isn’t the first time that a promoter (or promoters) have owned more than one club. While not ideal with so few teams in the league - it is what it is and branding is a very strong marketing tool. Why shouldn’t they be involved in the celebrations - they have earned it as much as the team.

  26. Belle Vue was about 2700 just short of being full. Peterborough I’d say about 3500? That included about 300+ Belle Vue fans who travelled compared to the 20 Peterborough fans who travelled to Belle Vue.

  27. Thought the racing was good from heat1 to heat 15 plenty of passing inside or outside sometimes even at the same time , track looked smooth and provided fast racing, there were many races that finished with last out the gate but first passed the finish line , overall good entertainment

  28. You write some squit on here from time to time but that takes the biscuit, some of the racing last night was top drawer, the track was excellent if perhaps a tiny bit dry. Both meetings served up action worthy of a final.

  31. I was ok with Cookie in our line up for this season, although it went t*ts up pretty quick. But Ty was struggling ( confidence maybe) in 2019. He was a big risk in my eyes, more so after a lay off. The Bridger signing was bordering on incompetence in my view. Every man and his dog knew he wouldn't last. But Lynn didn't seem see it. Or was it they were cheap? We were way under the limit, and Lawson, who had no Prem club would of fitted for Bridger from day 1.. Maybe Peter rolled over and accepted anything, or worse helped pick them... Rob Lyon wouldn't of had them anywhere near the Panthers side. Lets hope Alex Brady has some say in our team next season.

  32. Firstly I don’t know why R/R was left at 5 the last 3 meetings when they have known Kurtz wasn’t going to be riding, Kurtz R/R should have been moved to 2 or 4 so it’s not out with reserve each time the heat 13. Even with it at 5 don’t know why they didn’t use the same R/R order as did against Sheffield that worked fine Worrall, Worrall, Bewley, Wright. Putting Etheridge in heat 6 was the most baffling decision.

  33. Well done pussy cats, finished top and best team in play offs. What a season for you guys. Fuming with us though. Especially lemon. Heat 6 is baffling me and will do till my last breathe. Bewley and brennan thank you for at least showing up and trying. Rest were bullied far to easy on track for my liking. Having said that we did very well to get to a final with this team.

  34. Great performance, great atmosphere. Good laugh on the back straight, Aces fans on form, but ended up with a shake of hands at the end of the night. We got lucky with Cook being included in the rerun whilst being under power but coming last nullified that. Bewley was fantastic and credit to Brennan. The rest were average at best, Lemon needs his head testing giving Jye the second RR. Should have been a Worrall off the inside. All the Panthers did their job, showed track craft to catch the Aces riders out whilst they were messing about in the middle of the track. I do hate TV meetings, although a final and you expect it, with RR, the delays were tedious

  35. Yep get everything for free and then wonder why it's not there anymore - great strategy by true speedway fans

  36. Absolutely buzzing..and no one can deny this amazing team doesn't deserve the title..they just soldiered on in the face of adversity and full of heroes..and let's not forget Ully and Hans as this whole season was massive team effort..well done boys.. you've made my year!

  37. And to be fair to him, he was only a 'soldier of fortune' for one night only, so quite understandably could have felt 'job done', said his goodbyes and cleared off for a long old drive home.. And looks like some work to do on his bike too in time for those two matches so the faster he gets that sorted the better...

  38. Geoff had given him a lift down and didn't want to hang around...

  39. Well done Peterborough! C commiserations to Aces. But the absolute winner is speedway. Fantastic two matches to end the season. If only this level of speedway could be at every match the the sport wouldn't be in the trouble it is in.

  40. At the end of the day, we've been treated to probably the best top flight final in many many years. Loving it

  41. Hope it didn’t ruin your night as I say I had it at the play off final a few years ago through there. There not so big when you give them it back all mouth and not a lot after that , but as I say the real Monarch fans I know are all good people.
    1 point
  42. Not the first time it’s happened through there if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes I wouldn’t have believed it. Thankfully most Monarchs I have met are not like those you describe.

  43. Perhaps more accurate had Haza have said the purchase stopped the top flight from closing rather than Peterborough......??

  44. Depends on the points limit as usual I suppose? Hopefully be enough to accommodate them and the reserves, but with the annual habit of points reduction who knows.

  45. Nice little dig there, shame the 300+ couldn't win you the title

  46. Spot on - to be fair I never saw Buster on Tv or in any photos come to that unless I missed it but Alitt definitely was . Not sure what the answer is if Buster hadn’t taken Pboro on they’d closed so can understand the reasons but Alitt didn’t need to be there on camera on tv and in photos in a panther hoodie . 100% committed to KL as you say is what’s needed to bring league title to KL . Fingers crossed in 12 months time that will be the case .
