  1. Whilst central park seems gone for now, it does seem like there is a distinct possibility of retaining a National League side running out of Iwade. Hopefully if the venture comes off it gets the support to make the club viable and potentially keep the door open to a central park return in the higher leagues in the future.

  3. If we can reach agreement with our landlords at Rye House our intention, BSPL permitting, would be to run NDL. If the agreement is reached quickly enough and the weather allows the work to complete in time to meet the BSPL deadline we could aim for 2022. This is rather unlikely but you never know. With us, Oxford, Eastbourne and maybe Iwade all possibly running NDL sides in 2023 the situation could well be far less bleak in 18 months.

  7. I think there may be at least one other possibly two more NDL teams in addition to Northside based on various rumours. Two existing Clubs running NDL too. Be great news if so after NDL looked dead a year ago.

  10. 50k annual rent and 20 meetings is draconian and also kills off any thoughts of NDL in my opinion. As I see it if CL is 10 teams and you have 9 home and 9 away plus KOC and a few fillers, you'd have to run as many as 6 home meetings as "fillers" to reach the 20 fixtures so, they would be loss making meetings right off. If you don't run 20 fixtures you have to pay more rent per fixture to pay the 50k There is very little land available at right price in the right areas in Birmingham / Greater Birmingham, and The Black Country is the same, look at Cradley issues trying to find land in Dudley and Sandwell Boroughs. The big brown field sites like Longbridge have been used for residential and commercial development. The NEC / Airport area where nosie would be less of any issue is pretty much full up. The City Council and Regional elected Mayor are useless. As long as Wolves can hang on to Monmore or Coventry can reclaim Brandon, it's a very sobering outlook elsewhere in the area. There is another problem there though as any land that's encroaching on their territory so only robs Peter to pay Paul. Grim times so we all have to pray that we can keep PB for as long as possible.

  12. The ‘ masses ‘ won’t believe you as they know best. Very few outside the ‘inner circles’ of a speedway club have any understanding of the finances involved as many a post on here shows . Championship Riders on a £100 plus a point ? Vans , houses, bikes, mechanics, given free ? never mind flights paid for. Those clubs still getting involved in those things are the ones most often on the endangered list.

When he appeared back in the UK it was for Newcastle and I recall he turned out for Hull at Coventry for the title decider.

  31. Because Oxford and Workington will have their own tracks. Cradley last rode at 'home' in 1995. That's why nomadic teams like Reading and Weymouth were stopped from riding in last seasons junior leagues.

  35. I responded to the post re Wolverhampton Lack of development which your knowledge of is poor . It's motorsport it is expensive. Unfortunately attendance is poor but at every track we attended last year all seemed as they were if not better than before COVID, some teams will always live beyond there means just like some people live in debt . Can't comment on the committee as it would be speculation, can't think I watched a rider this season who didn't see bothered.

  37. I think its really only one Poster is has said he would not have Adam back, and he is entitled to his or her opinion. I think they will be disappointed as reading between the lines Adam wants to be back and the club want him back as well. And I would say that the vast majority of fans want him back at Sheffield.

  38. Not sure what your expecting from the BSPL ? They have no money , no power except inside their own minority sport and haven’t shown a lot of interest in assisting other ‘defunct’ tracks , except Leicester when they were closing as there was a bit of self interest involved .We can hardly call any region a hot bed of speedway these days , maybe the north ? ( Belle Vue, Sheffield, Scunthorpe , Redcar, Newcastle, Berwick ).

  39. To be honest, it pains me to say but I dont think the brummies will run in 2022, I just don't see 1000 people going, maybe for a couple of weeks it could happen but it will revert to below that over the season, unfortunately the stadium owners are in a business and they want to see profit, I do believe they barely break even for the greyhound racing, speedway is not a sport that really captures the imagination of the younger generation in the city of Birmingham, dare i say it but once the older fans start fading away they won't be replaced, it's a shame but unfortunately it's the way it is, I have said before and will say it again younger generation want stuff like T20 Cricket, Football, even Formula 1, Birmingham is going through a major redevelopment and once that is complete, there will be so much to do for the youngsters, I asked a few of the kids around here about speedway and they had not got a clue what I was on about, the 20 odd years without speedway in Brum destroyed a potential couple of generations getting into it, I hope I am wrong, but I do believe it's going to take a miracle to get Birmingham to the tapes for 2022

  42. Supply and demand for the U24's has meant (forced) the second and third tier clubs to have increased their salaries.. A good time to be a better than decent young up and coming rider.. Someone suggested that Tom Brennan would have been better joining an U24 team in the top division.. At this stage of his career getting those type of numbers in the 2nd tier would be far better.. You can upgrade your kit quite significantly for long term progress with that type of remuneration..

And I agree with what you say why wait until now to say anything in the cricketers case on a different not Conservative mp who’s accused Boirs dad of slapping her backside in 2003 why wait till now to say something? I’m not condoning any racist or sexual abuse in the slightest but why wait to speak out .
