  1. And it's the dispicable 4-3-2-0 scoring to contrive a definite result. A draw is often a very good and fair result especially for an away side, achieved with a full 7 riders (hopefully). So now it's just down to which team has just the best top two only and the justice/joy of a hard fought draw is lost. Ridiculous to change it. Boils my p!ss.

  2. Poole signed aTeam within the points limit ,same as every other Team in the League,so don’t know what you are talking about.

  3. To be fair, if it is that they don't promote themselves aggressively in the local area, it wouldn't be any different from the vast majority of clubs... Amazing, as a random example, that when a Circus visits your town, you know who they are, what they do, where it is, what the prices are and what time it starts... I presume they do this due to the fact that they need to get people to come, and to pay to watch them so they earn money and keep going... An amazing concept, granted....

  4. One thing this rider shortage does prove is that those people calling for one big league over the last few seasons were proved wrong, in that there is nowhere near enough riders to go round. There is probably some legs in the limiting of signing riders over a certain average - but again, you’d have thought this problem would of been foreseen by the governing body and not an afterthought because teams are struggling to complete their teams (in both divisions too!)

  5. Whoa There!!! It's British Speedway Titles you are talking about... It's definitely worth one or two clubs going out of the leagues mid season, due to being uncompetitive to see that one team recieve all those national accolades from the media, all that kudos, and the huge financial rewards that winning a British Speedway Title brings... In fact. It would be even better to lose a couple of teams as more Guests would then be available to help that one team to win it..

  6. At the height of his career he was only a 7.5 man. That was mainly achieved on his home performances on big fast tracks. That would be my concern. He’s a good lad and I wish him well though.

  8. I think Birmingham fans will be happy with the news coming out of the club over the coming days. There has been a lot of work put in by the new shareholders over the past few weeks and things on and off track are looking promising.

  9. It’s dying because a very high percentage of the fan base are covered in cobwebs and have two digit National Insurance numbers. Before you can attract younger people through the gate, you have to make them aware that the sport actually exists. Go and check the BBC sport website. It’s not that speedway isn’t mentioned, it’s the minority sports that are covered that reflects the embarrassing status of speedway.

  11. Not sure about that. If he is better away than Kennett then they would have signed him instead of Kennett in the first place imo.

  12. You are talking absolute crap,Ian Jordan is not involved at Plymouth, but if you can prove otherwise please do,don't let the facts get in the way of idle gossip on your behalf.

  13. The Brummies make a feature in their advertising about the bikes being 500cc. That would disqualify Kennett.

  14. Concerns about large numbers of young adults attending in gangs. You should be so lucky. Small groups young adults will attend at best. The sport needs as many as possible to attend so stop trying to put them off.

  15. Internal Russian dissent is exactly the desired outcome of the international ban. First off I feel terribly sorry for the individuals and it would be much better if Artem and Emil were in the SGP. But this situation is much bigger than that and a stance had to be taken. Let's face it I doubt Artem would have earned a living from riding in Russia anyway, there doesn't seem to be many fixtures. Happy to concede this point as I've not researched it. To illustrate the point, if you imagine that Speedway was the biggest sport in Russia and Artem the most famous sportsperson. Firstly the international ban would have robbed the Russian public with the opportunity to see their favourite defend his title which would have been a disappointment and provoked some thought as to the reason for the ban. The Russian public might view if as unjust by the west and continue to support their regime. Then their own authorities also ban him robbing them of seeing him ride in their own country. Now you're asking questions again. Still the public might turn against Artem for his anti-Russian sentiment. At which point the international ban has been pointless. However, if the combination of denying participation in global events, withdrawal of global brand products and economic hardship result in dissention within the populace then there is a chance this invasion could end. There's bound to be some other mad man despot polishing his ice pick just waiting for the chink in Putin's armour. And pulling out of Ukraine might just be the way of getting the gig, Huzzaah!! One for fans of "The Great" there. I know speedway isn't and this particular ban is ineffectual in reality but you can't go half arsed in these circumstances. There has to be a united message. The question of nationality is tricky. Particularly as the World becomes a smaller place. Is it where you were physically born, or where you grew up, or where your parents are from, or where you contribute economically/hold a passport? Just reading about Palace's Michael Olise who is English, French, Algerian and Nigerian at the same time. In the case of the sporting ban the only criteria that can be applied is the nation the individual represents. Unfortunately for Artem and Emil that is Russia. You can argue all you like about them being Polish citizens or whatever but in a sporting sense they represent Russia and you can try to say they could represent Poland or not represent any country but it's a flimsy smokescreen which only serves to weaken the message. Whilst this might mean the end of Laguta's speedway career, compared to the end of innocent Ukrainian and Russian lives, it's insignificant. It's an impossible situation but a stance has to be taken to demonstrate to the Russian people that the actions of the regime that governs them are immoral and not acceptable. You can't do that if you're making exceptions and concessions because it's a bit unfair on some individuals who we generally like because they entertain us.

  24. My research shows that both riders represented the Russian federation (MFR) in last seasons FIM events & were on the SGP site as MFR again for this season. This would indicate that they are Russian & hold a Russian approved FIM licence & therefore would require permission from MFR to race in another countries territory & as the FIM currently doe's not recognise the MFR who would the PZM apply to. As was established earlier this week by Roy Humphrey (ACU President) when he announced that all Russians would be barred from any activity in all disciplines of motorcycle sport on ACU territory it may not be the individuals fault the this invasion is happening but it is not ours either.

  27. I'm not totally against the idea of a 4-3-2-0 point scoring format to see team riding attempted However I would keep that to one competition only say the League Cup only and leave the league as it is and enable draws leave this super heat b***ocks out

  28. never bought a season ticket yet .like you said cant see the value in it .i do like the idea of buying a book of ten to use as and when

  32. After 'retiring' from speedway he took up bodybuilding and therefore put on a bit of weight, which was all muscle. He has lost a lot of muscle weight over the last year or so. He didn't get 'fat' as we know it, as far as I know.

  35. To be honest I'm not totally opposed to this, BUT a] it has come completely out of left field, why no chance to discuss it before the rulebook drops, which might have increased the chance of getting it right b] if this change is the right way to go why not apply it to ALL leagues

  44. Agree ,but the Ref has act when the time is up where there is no clock. Most refs don’t seem to care as long as the rider has left the pits which condridicts the rules. All you see is them flashing the green lights.Clocks should mandatory in this day and age.IMO

  45. Yeh, you’re right there. Like Poole. Or, before Kennett packed it in, erm, Plymouth. And they’re not the only ones - how about Leicester, Redcar or, arguably, Scunthorpe. if a rethink is required, it’s to cut the number of teams down to fit the riders available. When Oxford were allowed in, Birmingham should have been refused as, despite all the hot air coming out from Perry Barr, there is no way they can put together a competitive team for the budget that seems to be available. In my opinion
