So far all they mentioned was an injury to his left leg heading to hospital in an ambulance for further treatment.5 points

Back to where we started on the raised viewing area on the home straight and no one will be allowed at the fence round the track there will/should be a secondary fence at the top of the banking... no one will be allowed at the fence around the track viewing will be at least a minimum of 3 meters above the track and approximately 5 meters back on the home straight and 10 metres back on the back straight and hopefully that's clear enough for Mr Nil Imagination @Steve Shovlar5 points

Must admit its very sad to see the Diamonds ending this way, by his actions Rob Grant is making sure that speedway will never return to Brough Park.4 points

British speedway fans eh? In 24 hours only positive story in months is shot down into negativity4 points

Stuck my thoughts in-between what your new BFF had to say for himself and what Grant needs to remember you have to have a good memory to be a good liar... Regards John4 points

I must say I thought tonight's racing was superb with passing in virtually every heat.3 points

I feel sorry for the new sponsors to be honest as they must have put a lot of trust in Grant regarding team building and i assume they perhaps didn't know too much about Speedway as i wouldn't have been happy with the team that was put together. It was obvious from day one that anyone with half an idea knew that team wouldn't be competitive.3 points

I am sure every millionaire who reads the forum and is in the queue to buy Newcastle Speedway will be pleased at your humbleness and noted your cloying humility, unctuousness, obsequiousness, and will not be put of by your obeisance and insincerity, Regards THJ3 points

Like a said Ruff... give ya heed a shake because some of the comments are not very well thought through and look like a direct response from JER and his team.. and on the build comment it was not necessary and came across as a bit petty and a mickey take... you/we/new buyers need cash to get or buy a muddy field in the first instance and put a track in and that's the same as Edinburgh... and how you get to that end result is matterless... it has to start somewhere before it can finish... and if you don't have the money... you are looking at the good will of people like what is happening at Workington which is a combination of one guys cash and an awful lot of good will...3 points
-
Exactly my point. Edinburgh have jumped the gun here and its led to people believing its in the bag when it's anything but3 points
-
No! What is the use of this? The whole point of speedway is that you can see the whole race. It's inside a stadium; you don't need to be told what you are seeing.3 points

In layman's terms (and yes thats how you spell it) it means you didnt do Charles Dickens either... Get your self on Google Neil learn and enjoy... read about the ever so humble Mr Heap... On another topic Neil have you been invited in this Sunday with the rest if them... scrap man will be there and you never know your tape might even turn up and if you want them covers back you got you will need to be quick cos if JER doesn't flog them they will end up in the bin.... and the next promotion will need covers for sure... cos Grant is setting the club on a sound footing for the next owners... like... Regards THJ2 points

You can still get a sort of speedway fix ( the cycle version) at cramlington learning village this Sunday & at least you'll see riders giving it a good old go ( check out Northumbria Vikings page for all information before you go2 points

Ive followed Newcastle for about 45 years. I would go regardless of the quality of our team but unfortunately there were too many who would stop going when we were poor and i totally respect their decision.2 points

Many of us -me myself were looking forward to the new team build for this season. Awaiting signing posts/etc then hoping we get a lawson, kerr, worral in and a good 5, but as the days went on it was looking not likely. Then the post about how our next man in will be good/points wise. Lee complin? Ive only followed speedway for 10years and i was like who that? but i agree way early in the season when it started it didnt look good. Events down at redcar, then our number1 injured for ages and ages and ages and ages and ages. all we needed was to build a team with fight but nope (no offense to the riders we got) im still newcastle through and through and went to every home game evem though it was painful to watch defeat after defeat. its sad we probs may never see speedway again here. I will go watch berwick/redcar when i can but its not the same when it aint your team2 points

Honestly Jesus!!!... Really... What are you on about?; what do you think the Edinburgh project will look like when it starts; it will be a muddy field with muddy hills all over it; do you think they will build it off site and then drop a fully finished stadium into position... green grass and all? think you need to give your head a shake... that was just a picture of the finished job... Have you not been to Scunny or Redcar? make shift scaffolding standing areas let alone seating and Redcar have just bought some of the Worky seating for their back straight? at the moment I wouldn't mind a muddy field with a track on it and the potential to go somewhere; and I doubt I am not the only one thinking that: its not about dreaming... or maybe it is in your case who knows... every build project starts with a muddy field and the REAL question is where are YOU gonna get £150k from let alone £1.5 million... whatever the budget is £150k; £1.5mill or £15 Million where are you going to get that sort of cash from... JER cant raise £150 quid at the minute and he's selling everything that isn't bolted; screwed or welded down into place... If you want a pretty picture of what Northside will look like I can do that on the auto-cad here in the office however some of us can see the bigger picture... and understand what it takes to build something from scratch... and all builds start in a muddy field... Honestly... Who has led you to believe this? you been talking to the management again and taking in their " Bill-Shut"? Sounds like something JER and band of Liars would come out with... and the last statement is rather stating the obvious is it not... definitely something JER would say that... however the Liars have said the "Stadium People" have told them to get their stuff off site so the landlords don't want anyone on there if they are to be believed; so discuss what plans? what plans are there to discuss? if the stadium don't want you there what can you discuss... its gone! and you are spreading the management line... and as @Gaz said they are not doing this to facilitate the sale of the club its a "Fire Sale" pure and simple and if you don't know what is meant by a fire sale a quick google brings up... A fire sale is the sale of goods at extremely discounted prices. The term originated in reference to the sale of goods at a heavy discount due to fire damage. It may or may not be defined as a closeout, the final sale of goods to zero inventory. A sale of goods at reduced prices, especially because the shop has been damaged by fire. a sale of a business or part of a business at a low price because it needs money or is bankrupt. They may not be financially bankrupt yet but Morally and Ethically JER and his "Merry Men" are definitely Bankrupt for sure... and as for the muddy field scenario the £3k of Cumbria sea washed turf ordered will have the spot looking like a "veritable verdant oasis" in one weekend... including the football pitch that will go on the centre green... Honestly... Don't believe the lies that are being spun... "the truth is out there" (and yes @jenga we know that's a line from the X-files) Honestly take off the red nose and have a day off... Regards THJ2 points

From what I heard the land was put up for sale for us to purchase. The closing date and things like that are just part of the process I believe.2 points

Not good at all, so you want to sell something. Dont sell assets that make the entire product work! Shale be gone next. agree with year one, but year 2 and reading on here about offers for help declined/etc2 points

Funny how times change... Had we had a GP series 50 years ago, all the British fans would have wanted/expected the majority of the rounds in the UK - and it would have been considered "fair"...2 points
-
I think you may have either missed or overlooked part of the point I was making which was had it happened at Ipswich the complaining would in all probability been coming from Tigers fans! Anyone abusing track staff (particularly unpaid volunteers) or other fans is out of line no need to even debate that! actually perhaps the referee has more of a part of play here - they should be firmer in running the meeting particular in terms of time scales - Frank Ebdon many years back was always able to get a meeting done v quick - air fence issues not withstanding I reckon he’d have got that meeting to heat 15!!!2 points
-
No doubt he is telling people who want to take it on that you lose 5k per week like Kearman is telling me etc! Not if you run it properly, get a decent team sorted then the fans will get behind you and sponsors will come on board. They were meant to have decent sponsors this year so I doubt they will be to happy!2 points
-
What a pack of lies... honestly it's enough to make you puke... I was at the track the other night and anyone who wants the truth just needs to call round and talk to them and this debacle has nothing to do with them... they aren't making any demands and have no agenda as far as the comments made above... there is no pressure from the stadium... There are lies, dam lies and then there is the dross JER puts out on Facebook... Regards THJ2 points

And whilst the paying public is continually taken for mugs the cashflow will dwindle further and further as more and more walk away week after week year after year......2 points

Total guff - no one has slagged the track staff. It wasn't their fault in any way They could only work with what they had available Had they have had the correct spare sections and connections no doubt it would've been done far more speedily If it had been at Ipswich then the criticism would've been the same from the Witches fans on here. In general those posting on here from Ipswich are the least forgiving of their own promotion and if anything more critical where things are not quite right on their doorstep Rarely will you see the Witches posters trying to defend the indefensible just because its their team/promotion2 points

He said he closed the track to protect it so hopefully someone would come in and buy it and keep it going... I would suggest selling off everything needed to run a Speedway meeting might not make it much of a tempting proposition...2 points

Will common sense finally prevail and get Hume or bailey. Or will the equally poor ashfield performance of the Thompson twins qualify them for a call up?1 point

Cheers for the info Normski but Jordan is now in the main 1-5 so part D should not be highlighted but part B should as we are using RR for Jake on Sunday so we can use a Guest for Jordan.1 point

What guff ? At least 3 Ipswich supporters have slagged them off. Check the posts. So your saying Ipswich supporters on here would have slagged the promotion and track staff if it happened at Ipswich ? Who needs supporters like that ? No wonder speedway is in a fast decline. I can see why you don’t go then it must be toxic when you lose. I do agree with you tho if we had plenty of spare parts it would have been repaired quicker but as speedway is not a lucrative sport that might be the reason for the lack of spare parts don’t you think. Most clubs run on a shoestring.1 point

Ouch! The previous promotion made a loss and now you want to try and re-open paying double the rent! Don’t get me wrong you have my full support and I really hope you succeed but it’s going to be incredibly hard to get up and running and break even?1 point

My first visit to Oxford last night travelling down from Leicester, and it certainly wont be my last. From entering the stadium by car with a blue badge holder, we were really welcomed by the gate staff and found a convenient parking space without any fuss. Fantastic stadium and all involved should be congratulated on getiing the facility up and running in such a short period of time. The track produced some good racing and a little more work with the watering could have possibly produced some more lines but overall this was a great advert for the sport. Found that the home supporters on the back straight where many of us stood were really friendly, congratulated us on our win and wished us a safe journey home. Likewise the security staff on the gate made sure that it was safe for pedestrians and ourselves to turn out of the stadium and into the road. Great show Oxford! Well done to all concerned and thanks for a great night!1 point

It's all about which meetings are dropping off with the gradual reduction from 20 to 10 For 2023 it will only be the last 10 matches from 2022 that are included so anything up until now irrelevant There will be some big changes as the sample size shrinks.......1 point
