Price of petrol just now is prohibitive to make it down unfortunately. Things are that bad I put Vodka in my petrol lawnmower to see if that would work. The grass is half-cut.4 points

Solid scoring by all tonight , Don’t think Poole wanted them to leave but when a bigger club comes calling then it’s only natural that you would leave.4 points

Just to clarify that we did have a productive meeting yesterday and we are looking at running either league and not both at this time. Lots of good things happening but still a long way to go yet..4 points

You are giving Jenga ideas that he would be unable to grasp without being pointed in the right direction. Yes, Claus on a 5 next season is extremely attractive the master plan is coming to fruition.4 points

You'd be really scraping the barrell signing Roynon the guy is done. No better then Coles4 points

They are too busy posting on the Internet about how to save British speedway by having better line ups that will bring the crowds flocking back and the need for more meetings other than league matches.4 points

Did what was necessary and good all round performance. Danyon continues to exceed my expectations, can't believe someone let him and basso go...3 points

It a tricky one because Connor has being doing all that can really be asked of him but with us having a lot points left in the team average a change was always likely and In my opinion if Roynon finds a bit of form he could certainly pile the points on at reserve3 points

Don't know why all the negativity on this. Watched first round on BSN, went to Ippo for second round, and will be at Lynn tomorrow. It's a good concept, but as usual needs much better promotion to interest people outside the speedway circle. The only thing that needs a bit more thought is use of the reserves3 points

Good line up again. I’m surprised fans haven’t taken to this. Plenty of heat 13 and 15s which is what we all want to see3 points

Continuing to bang this drum I see, has Starke been banging your missus or something? R/R didn’t “work wonders” for Ipswich last night as you’ve already been told. R/R scored 7 points last night, exactly the same total he scored at the same track (one of his best tracks btw) a few weeks back. And tonight, R/R again accrued 7 points, so how has R/R struck again? You saying Starke isn’t capable of scoring 7 points in the championship? He scored more than that in every single one of Newcastles home meetings before they sadly closed! Stop talking utter horse sh!t.2 points

For a small fee can you arrange this. We can discuss terms and I will send my Swiss bank account details over to you. And I want my own dressing.room and 2 bottles of buckfast if you are not sure what buckfast is Google it.2 points

It’s aimed at kids Lisa so for them it won’t feel embarrassing. And just to make things clear I know every single word off the top of my head , it just rolls of the tongue.2 points

Remember first seeing him ride in the conference for cradly at Buxton some years ago and he went through the card I think.looked very impressive and was certainly one that I thought would progress, looked very stylish but he,s been so so unlucky with injuries and it's not nice to see him struggling for points.2 points

I'd be astonished if he gets on a bike before next season given the sheer quantity of his injuries. But I'm not a doctor ........nor am I Dan Gilkes2 points

Taken from Facebook Good afternoon everyone The consortium met again yesterday to discuss our recent stadium visit, review the current financial position and recently obtained costings. We will be attending a meeting at oxford speedway soon to meet the new owner and promoter to discuss running a speedway club at both championship and ND league We are moving in the right direction at the moment to the point when we are hoping to announce a date for a fans forum. Thats all for now2 points

I do agree re unreliable riders not being ideal. Probably poorly written by myself but I was just noting how much more favourably he could be looked upon by certain teams given that he may be on 5.00 as opposed to the 6.73 average originally mentioned by MD. If he didn't cause any trouble during his Glasgow days then they, for example, could well be up for signing him in 2023.2 points

The main grandstand was built in 1986, while the extension (the bit with the exec boxes approaching the first bend) opened in 2000. No you don't have to pay any extra to sit in the grandstand, it's £18 (plus a £1 booking fee) regardless. At the start of the season there were two options when booking tickets (either inside or outside), but that was simply where you entered the stadium. Now there's just one 'general admission' option, so you are free to stand/sit wherever you want. I've heard they do take card payments on the gate now, but haven't seen or heard of anybody that's done this.2 points

A Poole fan is trying to get the Poole DJ to play it when the Glasgow riders walk out on parade on the 13th. But he's not having any of it!2 points
-
Can't agree with that. Was never a hint of an issue when rode with us. Got shafted by Newcastle on eve of last season too remember for what in hindsight was penny pinching. Don't know what issues are with him and Birmingham but can only speak of my experiences of Claus and all positive2 points

I'm a Glasgow supporter, but this is embarrassing. What even is the point of it. Who is responsible for this nonsense?2 points

It seems Oxford are using him based on one fantastic NL match, mind you that match was against a VERY weak Plymouth side, where his reserve partner Butcher also scored double figures. Miles away from Champ standard! Oxford could have used Jenkins, Stoneman or Atkins today!1 point
-
Young killeen should be left to nl for a few meetings being thrown in deep will do his confidence no good1 point
-
I think they are restricted to 2000 at present so online tickets is the easiest way to control this.1 point

Yeah, remember him as a 16 year old somewhat controversially being allowed his 3rd ride in heat15 at ashfield Vs Workington. The big surprise was that he was so close to getting a point. Thought he'd be a class but injuries been very cruel on him1 point

The BSPZzz site only looks after its own self-interest, i.e. covering what it does, namely the British leagues. That's it. As far as the BSPZzz are concerned, the rest of the sport can take a hike. Promoting the other aspects of the sport should be the domain of the SCB / ACU or even the FIM, in their opinion. And this is where the media coverage of speedway in the UK falls down. There isn't a national media organisation that gives speedway the kind of coverage that say, WP does in Poland. WP (Wirtualna Polska) is like the Murdoch media empire of Poland, running TV stations, newspapers and online news too, most famously Sportowefakty which it acquired and added to its online empire a few years ago. Thanks to Sportowefakty all branches of the sport are covered, and not just in Poland but from many other countries where speedway takes place. If speedway were taken seriously by the general public, it too would feature in national press publications and we as fans wouldn't have to rely on the silo'd perspectives of those with only their own interests at heart. You could argue also that this is the role that the Speedway Star (at the very least) should be leading on...but hey ho..1 point

Have to say it was great to see a Speedway meeting can be run in under 1 hour 45 minutes with a 10 minute parade, a 10 minute interval and both teams running R/R. A lesson many other promotions could learn from1 point

My bruv, a Swindon fan living in Adelaide Australia, was supporting the Aussie Cheetahs with 4 of them in side, plus 1 Englishman and 1 American. I believe last week was also a last heat decider, going the way of the away team. My other bruv and me were neutral. Was good to see speedway again after nearly 3 years of inactivity at Blunsdon. Would like to see Swindon, Oxford and Poole in Premier again. Impressive facilities, decent loos and good catering, decent programme, and not far to walk from Unipart car park, shuttle coach is also good idea, even doggies allowed. Better view from higher up on bends 3/4 than 1/2, and no flying shale! Preferred pits on bends 3/4 than back straight, and would rather pay on gate. Will definitely go again. Oxford have a massive catchment area, nearest senior club to Greater London, millions of could be spectators. Good luck Oxford1 point

Just a little joke for Skidder. He said Basso would miss too many home meetings.1 point

No idea what the crowd was last night but I thought it was a very healthy one to be fair , certainly looked a good crowd to me anyway it was a very good meeting , much better than the score suggests, some of Zagar’s and Fricke’s moves were sensational but for me the sight of Brady Kurtz in full flow around Belle Vue is absolutely spectacular. I hadn’t actually attended a live meeting anywhere since 1993 until I went to Belle Vue last season and while I can’t get to every meeting I am impressed with the ones I get to and I love watching Brady Kurtz this season, reminds me of the old Henka Gustafsson and Mark Loram days from my last season watching in 1993 at Kings Lynn..heart in mouth at his lines sometimes but great to watch.1 point

The Look at Life series is readily available on amazon and the feature on Southampton (Vol 4: Sport) is not the only speedway film. There is also a film mainly featuring cycle speedway, but which also includes some splendid footage from Hackney.1 point

We cannot raise the importance of the British Final back to the days when it was a step on the road to the one off World Final, but at least the prize for winning the National Championship can have some real significance. The chance to step out in front of the biggest of crowds at the British GP and hopefully nick a few points is surely a big incentive. I love seeing the British Final winner at Cardiff.1 point

Just received my latest edition of the "Classic Magazine". Great article about the Soviet/Russians. I only hope that the magazine is able to continue and that Tony manages to negotiate a deal with a prospective interested party.1 point
