We were well beaten by the team that gated better ,If you are happy with that then fair enough. But don’t give it the Violin rubbish Basso is a racer as you well know but if the track doesn’t allow that then he is pissin against the wind.3 points

I agree but continue to do that and we wont beat anyone like this over 2 legs in the play offs. Fairness doesn't get results. Tonight was about gating not racing, I was getting bored watching on TV but Poole got a 12 point win and the fans looked like they were going home happy. Could we pull back 12 points at home if this was a 2 leg affair. No chance IMO, our track is too fair.3 points

I know a few of the Cheetahs are from downunder but you can't really call us OZford3 points

Next time there down, perhaps instead of playing eye of the tiger, they should play something by the bay city rollers2 points

Hardly "second season syndrome" he's had a fantastic year & having one disappointing match doesn't change that2 points

Seems to be the theme in speedway if a rider like Jonas is doing well they will end up at Glasgow the following season. Hopefully, his friendship with the Flint family will see him take the sensible route and remain at Berwick in 2023.2 points

Ostergaard got away with a huge roller. Lawson was well pissed and got straight in the phone. Crowd were shouting at ref throughout heat and afterwards. Ridiculous miss.2 points

Interesting to read the view points of the track when one particular Poole fan slammed Berwick for the limited amount of passing... Oh the hypocrisy!2 points

Poor meeting overall, hyper slick track with almost no passing. Had hoped to see better.2 points

You only have to look at Google Maps and the adjacent development to the showground to see the intensity of the housing. The Grandstand, pits, track and backstraight areas are roughly 150m x 200m. Overlay that on any part of the housing, and you'll see 40-50 homes.2 points

F1 doesn't have a track operating in London either, but still gets plenty of attention. The 'mass media' is much less important than it once was. Few under the age of 50 read newspapers or even watch mainstream TV these days, so the opportunities are there for sports that can gain attention through other channels. The problem of course, is that speedway is largely followed by people well over 50 and unfortunately has been unable or unwilling to address that underlying issue for the past 20-30 years. Just as an example, any sport of any credibility has an app where you can get news and live results, but does British speedway? The SGP now has one which is a start, but even that's somewhat lame (e.g. its developers are apparently unable to even make a proper logo for it).2 points

Green Sheets are not a reflection of this season, because they still include some from 2021. Averages are updated regularly now, showing Home, Away & Overall for 2022. Note that the Green Sheet figures are updated as soon as the referee's official scorecard is available, so will not reflect the current month (and don't forget that the number of matches used for the GSA will reduce by 2 for August): https://britishspeedway.co.uk/2022-rider-statistics/2 points

A bit like all your trolling (Waits patiently for guaranteed response as Trackprat has to have the last word!)2 points

He will be the first sportsman in history who finishes bottom and second botton in two leagues who also qualifies for winners and runners up medals in the same competitions... "How did you do this year Bomber?".. "Finished bottom".... "And first"... "And second".... "And third... "And fourth, and fifth and sixth as well"..2 points

Yes, if the team manager was more aware / ruthless, Berwick could have come away with a draw!2 points

If Alex is learning from Dale Allitt, it would explain why the team are where they are now. Bottom of the league.2 points

Wot an amazing night of speedway, absolutely f*rkin on another level. Wow, that's entertainment Yippeeeeeeee, lads we smashed em! Kicked ass, kabooom! U know somet I'm knackered now........1 point

If that's the case all guest appearances should count for averages & not just unnattached riders.1 point

That part of the preview hasn’t been changed from Tuesday, the first part of the preview had Starke OR R/R if he doesn’t make it, and that part has been updated today to state he’s out and it’s R/R.1 point

If that’s the best meeting of your season then that is a sad reflection on what you are being served up. I make no apologies but that was absolute dross as a spectacle.1 point

Nice ride by Flint for that couple of points, could see him working it out and finding the best place to make the move, although I was expecting it to half a lap later, great ride.1 point

I know - nowhere. There is nothing planned for 2022. Something might happen in 2023 but the multi million dollar losses of New Zealand and Melbourne are making it difficult to find a venue. For Discovery to hold an event in Australia, they’d have to agree to pay a venue - the complete opposite of how they do business. But, if they chose to do that, then they’d have plenty of takers, happy to put on a financially risk free event1 point

Just from the start of 2022. Thought it would be a fairer (or at least as fair as it could be) reflection that way. I think it also shows that Kyle has been decent in both leagues, and Hans...well....hasn't.1 point

In truth it was always a fairly marginal sport with few or no wealthy benefactors, and to a certain extent has fallen victim to land pressures and environmental concerns that have forced it from prime locations. But Hackney in particular was basically situated within what became the London Olympic park and the sport apparently did nothing to ensure it was included amongst the other minority sports that had facilities built for them. That sums up the mismanagement of speedway down the years.1 point

If using a simple conversion factor it should be in the region of 1.25-1.3. However the relationship is not strictly proportionate (witness all the low average rider at the top of the table) so a linear regression would be better modelling. (I have done this before. I think the answer would come out as something like: Prem av = 0.9 Champ av - 2) Edit: just done regression on 2021 stats: formula is: 0.824 Champ Av - 0.32 = Prem Av1 point

Leicester are waiting for a date from Scunthorpe . The blank dates Scunthorpe have had are due to rider availability . Also Mr Godfrey doesn’t want the same team there twice in quick succession. Leicester are at Scunthorpe in the Jubilee Trophy next Friday so I think it will be 26th August1 point

The Dutch can only send one rider so there will be a mixed team after all. EDIT: there will be a complete Dutch Team after all.1 point

Convincing win for Poole, all the practice should pay dividends you would think.1 point

Clearly they didn't think it through when planning the rule change! Also compare a rider like Joe Thompson's last 10 matches in the team vs reserve. The difference could be anywhere between 3.00-6.00!1 point

I can't exactly remember who it was as I was watching BSN two nights running, but either Justin Sedgman or Adam Roynon said that when riding at KL they put Speedway Stars inside their team suit as the track is so hard there!1 point

If Woffinden Lambert and Bewley came back to the U.K. that would be a huge boost to the Premiership but can’t see it at the moment. Sweden is going (to go) the same way as the U.K. with interest falling alarmingly, again I would say through lack of top Swedish riders. I think after the pandemic U.K. had the chance to reorganise and have one professional league to employ the stay at home riders and from overseas - mostly Aussies and where would be without them! The sport is becoming Northern dominated as stadiums in the south come under pressure through ever increasing land values and housing requirements.1 point

And a Jubilee Trophy final on 31 October won't look as strange as a Summer Trophy final1 point
