Well, like I said, if you were in the habit of reading Sportowefakty regularly (maybe you are, maybe you're not) then you'd have known long ago that it's the equivalent of the Daily Mail. I come on only occasionally but from what I have seen, there appears to be a mixture of some who are highly knowledgeable about Polish speedway and speedway internationally generally, such as R&R, and others who'd like to imagine they know lots but actually don't! For me personally, I run a speedway FB group that deals exclusively with European speedway and I can tell you this with absolute certainty. R&R is the most valuable resource and poster I've come across anywhere on the net, including in Poland!

I had a chat with Richard Lawson before the meeting. I mentioned the Palm Toft incident and he said he never touched him and the throttle goes both ways. Lawson said he made a similar undercut move on Chris Harris in heat 15 against Berwick and Harris came off the throttle, and cut back underneath. They shook hands after the race. With Palm Toft his girlfriend completely lost it and tried to attack Lawson.

Got to say I was pretty impressed with some of the riders last night. Leon Flint was always an obvious winner, but the standard was better than I was expecting. The main thing that caught my eye is just how good some of these kids are at such a young age. Five of them are only 15 I think (Max Perry, Max James, Luke Harrison, Jody Scott, Ace Pijper?), and a couple only one year older. Maybe the future isn't quite so bleak.

Just seen TV advert on STV for Glasgow Speedway.

Nothing odd about it at all Redcar have been expanding their asset base for the last few seasons and now have the likes of Edwards, Jenkins and now Freeman all on token sums, to join a couple of local youngsters previously signed but not yet good enough for the NDL. This probably won’t be the last youngster they sign. The club is well known for looking after the younger ones and runs two junior sides and weekly second halfs plus the amateur meetings and practice sessions. Something perhaps other clubs could/ should be doing ?. They won’t get a fee on loans to NDL clubs.

Foxhall is a decent track that produces good racing when prepared well, just like most others really. Track prep isn’t an exact science though and can be extremely difficult to get right. A lot comes down to luck as well in my opinion. You can prepare it the exactly same way two weeks running and yet have it seemingly perform completely differently both times. I don’t think Louis gets enough credit either for the effort that went in to changing the shape. That first winter involved an incredible amount of work in awful wintry conditions that at one stage, didn’t look like being completed in time. The following few years involved further alterations bringing the inside in, but On a smaller scale. It’s resulted in an excellent shape for racing. Saw a split aerial picture a few weeks back on social media of the old shape and new side by side and the difference was incredible. From long straights and incredibly tight bends to a far more circular and much wider shape. I’ll see if I can find it.

Every offseason in the British topics we all discuss transfers after we get info from ITK's, Mechanics, Sponsors etc. and then some of the moves don't happen. Yet nobody gets upset about it when a rider does a U-Turn or a move doesn't happen in the end. Take the Batchelor situation as a recent example who had a verbal agreement in place with Belle Vue where the info was splattered all over the forum only for Guy Nicholls to splash the cash at 11th hour for Batchelor to sign for Ipswich. Today's situation isn't all about that one post tbh with you stewmac, The problem between myself and R & R is much deeper than that. We just don't get along due to a clash of personalities. So any little thing between the two of us gets blown way out of proportion rather than the pair of us resolving a silly little matter in a civil way. At the end of the day all R & R had to do was ask me in a civil way to edit the post and put Rumoured from the get go and I would've gone back and done that for him. Then the matter would've been resolved within two posts and a couple of minutes.

The disparities between the rides that 6&7 get are vast. A number 6 can do alright in heat 2, face the next two rides with tough riders and then often get pulled from thier last ride as the 7 has been scoring in the "easier" heats.

It was noticeable on Saturday just how many times Max looked behind him during his races. On one occasion coming out of bend two he looked to his right where there was no rider so he looked to his left just in time to see the rider come by. The only time he didn't look back was when the other three riders were already in front. This sort of on track habit is a strong indication of a lack of confidence in his own speed or ability to stay ahead of the riders behind him. Hopefully a spell at reserve, a few practice sessions as well as some positive encouragement from team mates and management will help improve his confidence and form back to the levels he is capable of.

£60 quid family ticket competitively priced? Really? I would suggest £40 nearer the mark to get a family of four there.. £20 each the adults and free for the kids... You are looking at circa £35 tops for the movies or ten pin bowling on a Monday night for a family of four...

Same could easily be said about British Speedway as a whole. Whilst IOW don't claim to have all the answers they are at least posing a few questions and getting people talking. The meeting types and formats clearly won't work a lot of places as they simply don't have the track to accommodate it but to successfully run an alternative to league speedway has to be applauded even if it doesn't directly appeal to you.
