As a Glasgow fan I am very sorry to see the Edinburgh score. Not a worthy way to bow out of Armadale, with its vast vast history of success. When I think back to my first visits to Armadale I think of the imperious Peter Carr. Hopefully they do have a future, the promotion and fans are out of the top drawer!5 points

What is funny with saying Germany helped Roberts progress. They helped a lot more than British speedway did when he was young.4 points

Sad to not be seeing The Monarchs again, for a while at least. Leicester should be an inspiration for them, it took some time but where there's a will there's a way3 points

100%, I'd argue British Speedway stagnated Robert Lambert when he was here. It wasn't until he went to Sweden & 2nd tier in Poland he kicked on again. Now with Torun & GP's he's gone on again. Hopefully the progress will continue. I'd argue the same with Dan Bewley. He was going stale & really struggled in Poland, until Woffinden stepped in & gave him equipment. Both Lambert & Bewley have really really gone on to establish themselves as 'World Class' & they absolutely owe British Speedway nothing. For any rider that wants to reach the top of the game, they have to leave this island & head to the greater Europe3 points

Put it this way if I was stranded on a deserted Island with Shovlar and a tin of beans I would eat Shovlar and talk to the tin of beans. You would get more sense out the beans.3 points

This is so much better than the crap this track served up when it first opened. When this side are on it, they can beat anyone.2 points

To be honest,,, I don't care,,,I won't be going,,, washing my hair. How anyone can take this meeting seriously is beyond me,, you can't have a play off system of who faces who on where you finish in league when all league meetings haven't taken place. Would be funny to now have a few rain offs before the Sheffield Ipswich meet,, with Ipswich then finishing top and then facing Wolves,,2 points

What a fantastic comment to read. I was hoping so much for a close meeting so Saturday night at the den would have been a mega atmosphere. Connor Mountain has been consider this year but at the British final and last night he found a 2nd gear from somewhere! I feel sorry for Edinburgh fans. With that team they have you'd have thought they would have atleast drawn on the night. I hope they are back at the tapes sooner than expected. They always build good teams and have passionate fans. Scottish speedway clubs just seem different to English ones, don't know why just seems more historical and the fans are super passionate. Just different folk Im guessing! I hope there is a proper send off meeting for the monarchs sometime before it gets flattened. I'd certainly be tempted to make the trip up!2 points

Sunny Armadale is apparently set to be flattened soon. Last night, it felt like the demolition men had arrived a few weeks ahead of schedule. The People's Champions, the table topping Leicester Lions, were relentless in their pursuit of first leg victory. It started with Morris dancing into the lead in heat 1 and Monarchs fans certainly knew their side had a Mountain to climb when young Connor passed the hapless Sam Masters to secure the 5-1. Fireman Sam was found wanting against top opposition (not for the first time) and he followed up his heat 1 failure by almost sticking Lasse Fredriksen in the pits on the first turn of heat 6. He did pretty much the same thing in the corresponding race last Friday. What price team riding? He then posted two decent rides before being bullied into submission (and third place) by the classy Richie Worrall in heat 15. Not good enough from 'the league's best rider'. Like a number of others, I was hugely impressed with Connor Mountain, who made a molehill out of all the home men, with the sole exception of Josh Pickering who had to work overtime and a half to force his way into second in heat 11. Part of me actually wanted him to achieve his paid maximum as it would've been a suitable ending to a performance I would rank as one of the best from a visiting second string throughout the entirety of sunny Armadale's existence. It's always a delight to see Max Clegg scoring well, his only defeats coming from his 2 outings off gate 1. Well done young man. For the Monarchs, when the glue that is Kye Thomson has an off night, it's never a good sign. He looked a pale shadow of his usual self all evening, not helped by the Italian plumber also failing to rise to the occasion. So, well done Leicester. Let's hope you finish the job in the Final and sporting justice is done. Say no to artificial, Americanised, climax-chasing razzmatazz. You're the 2022 Champions in my eyes, regardless of the end result. er, roll on Friday...2 points

It was germany that actually allowed him to progress, i wouldnt say this country really helped him at all.2 points

For Leicester, not at Wolves! Masters has highest average in the league (might be Doyle but in top 2!) so how does Morris ride at No1 ahead of him?! Masters 8.41 Morris 7.03.1 point

Seems to be 2 riders from each team. Kyle pulled out the second match (riding for Plymouth I think) of the double header. Crang is 3rd (riding), Ace is 4th (21 day concussion according to Speedway Star), mason (5th) in the current months averages.1 point

They have been trying for years to secure land or a different venue. You've have to be joking if you think they will want anything to do with Northside. They will leave what’s left of Workington fans to sort that out.( not many judging by their Championship winning season).1 point

I can't see messrs Campbell and harkess leaving any stone unturned in order to find somewhere for Edinburgh to come back to. Might not be my favourite people in the world but can never doubt their commitment to Edinburgh speedway1 point

The issue is once anywhere shuts for a season or so its a rarity to open again, even at a new venue. Lets hope the monarchs survive , a proper promoted speedway club with a very solid history .1 point
