  1. How can you accuse someone of having no clue, then suggest Louis is waiting on the 'Emil situation'. You too have no clue as nobody at Ipswich has even suggested they're chasing the signature of Emil Sayfutdinov. You're also guessing & working with hearsay. Don't be such a little baby over other people's opinions

  3. The big joke is the ignoring of the forth meeting, boughan didnt get that luxury and saw his average nearly double which must have had an impact on his bargaining power and hurts Leicesters team building capabilities

  4. I will bring this up again but how can Roynon join on a 6.00 average? He rode in 4 official meetings for Plymouth last season and gained an average of 8.67! https://britishspeedway.co.uk/2022-rider-statistics/ Or by some absurdity if they are ignoring that, then he didn’t officially ride NL last season so his average should be his Championship average doubled. That is now 3.56 * 2 = 7.12. Not 6.00 which he joined the NL on midway through last season.

  7. I agree, it’s not hard to do at last one good story a week, news this year has been dreadful. And people wonder why the sport is in the mess it is.

  10. If this doesnt happen it will most likely be Peterborough's last season with a speedway team , Chapman will sell off what he can and provide scant resources as the season progresses . David Hawkins at least had Mikal Blixt to sell Chapmans got track equipment and naff all else

  11. Just as well they started at least 3 months ago then.......

  14. 1. The 6.00 wasn’t assessed, it was his Championship average doubled which is how you equate an average when a rider is dropping down. 2. He did do enough meetings last season! He did 4 meetings which is all that is needed to get a new average. 3. Like I said previously, if for some reason they’re ignoring last season, then he should drop down on his current Championship average doubled.

  16. From what I believe when enquired about Roynon they were told he’d be on his 6.00 assessed as was given for Plymouth. As he hadn’t done enough to get a proper average he stays on his assessed one given. Academy just following what the BSPA have decided.

  18. Actually not sure about Leicester. In the past they’re definitely brought the best away following! Well supported. Agree to a point. Once the team is announced not sure any amount of interviews will provide the same amount of interest as outstanding team members will. But, in this day and age there’s no reason why clubs and promoters can’t do a weekly or even monthly, blog on official social media with the latest updates on club matters even if it’s not team related. For instance, Louis at Ipswich told folks who attended the supporters club thingy that they were hoping to stage the much loved 16 lapper this year, as well as adding banking to the track etc. anyone who didn’t attend would have no idea of that, why isn’t it on the official website? It should be. As you say, it’s really not hard to do.

  20. Rowe quit at Leicester. I get the impression he's not bothered about racing in GB, happier in Poland. Imo can't count him as a Brit unlucky not to have a UK team.

  21. I’ll counter that, I’ll bet none of those have sold more season tickets than Ipswich..

  30. You’d think Emil would be every bit if not more expensive than Doyle so the dough in theory should still be there for someone else of a decent calibre if that doesn’t come off. Six weeks tomorrow we face Peterborough at Foxhall so it’s creeping up on us!

  31. A better signing was the Czech rider for Poole 2 years ago …never showed , but it was ok for them to use r/r for a couple of months until a better rider was sourced . Plymouth are looking at doing the same as the precedent has already been sent .

  35. I don't know where a lot of the franchise names originate from in speedway, some are more obvious than others, Ipswich Witches for example or Wolverhampton Wolves. Many franchise names in other sports have some kind of local connection, Sheffield Wednesday "Owls", Owlerton, San Francisco 49ers in NFL for the miners... what would they be for past or present Speedway clubs? I'll start you off: Scunthorpe Steelers

  37. It was a fantastic event, despite the desert conditions! It was mentioned a few times at meetings, but the club could have advertised it better. No idea how the attendance compared to the meetings at other tracks though.

  38. Redcar can run any open meetings they want, calling it a Newcastle select , they will pay riders costs and hope Newcastle fans will travel down for a speedway fix

  42. Correct a mini track has been installed on the right hand side as you enter the site... all coming together with the delivery of the seating which is a massive mecano set... the pits are 80% built... lights tapes and other trackside equipment ready to go in... New generator acquired that will potentially run the full site... time will be tight but everyone is pulling together... UTC.... an all that... Regards THJ

  43. Newcastle Select. Perhaps you would prefer the fixture not to take place. Home promoters pay all 16 in an open meeting, relax

  44. Can I mention that the Tyne Tees Trophy was run over two legs and as Newcastle do not have a Track, Promoter or any Riders registered in their name who will pay anybody for riding under the Newcastle name for this meeting, I wonder if Redcar will be glad to pay the extra money hoping that a good crowd attends from Newcastle. I'm sure that the the BSPA will not sanction a team put out in the name of Newcastle since they stopped many teams from using a former clubs name from riding at another track, Cradley Heath springs to mind.

  46. I have to admit I thought he was a class act...the "King" of "Glam Rock". I still occasionally listen to his music now. He may be disgraced but you can't take away the impact he had on the music scene during the early/middle seventies.

  47. I seem to recall that the rising star label was only applicable for two seasons for any rider. But if Drew Kemp has not been selected by any of the Premiership or Championship clubs then he needs to take a long hard look at himself & answer his own questions
