  1. First of all. Must say that’s the best racing I’ve seen at lynn in a long time, track was perfect. secondly, laguta is just class, and soon will be scoring maximum after maximum there so if you can sort your engine room out then you won’t loose many. thirdly, I know lynn are struggling but that’s a great result for us without Kurtz, every single rider did the job they are paid to do. A very professional performance.

  4. The negative comments mainly come from Sportowefakty, as it was their reporter that he commented about . To balance things out, it's also true to say he's had massive support for his words on FB fan sites. Many riders (and fans) are fed up of reporters simply writing nonsense just to get clicks. Gleb seems to have been the first to actually say it out loud. Well done him in my opinion.

  5. Despite their recent home struggles , and having a patched septet tonight , you just know the Monarchs are going to be up for this tonight more than any other league match . So we'll have to get the best out of our 7 , no silly exclusions , if we are to prevail . We should have an excellent chance of winning, but I've been to Armadale too many times thinking that , only to be disappointed . Should be a cracker though

  6. I'm tempted to feel sorry then I remember how little of that there was when we were getting humped off them every year. And the less said about 2014 the better. Get it up ye

  7. If i was to say we have had the best season entertainment wise so far do you really reckon people will take a financial risk as you put it to come to the next one.Personally i don't. If speedway is worth a financial risk if you think the racing will be good then Belle Vue would be packed every week.

  9. Once you make a signing like morley , a trapper who is dreadful away from home as a strengthening move it just shows what a bad job youve made of team building in the first place . I like garry may as hes a straight talker essentially but they cocked it right up. The one person last yr who improved a bundle esp at plymouth was bowtell, way better than morley and n2 all last yr , who could get a few away, they let him go too incorporate a rider, starke who looked completely shot . Everybody hates poole but they get it right 9 yrs out of 10 team building.

  10. Why do people continually come on here and ask 'was the crowd good?' or 'what was the racing like?' If everyone did that and not bother getting out and supporting clubs there would be no speedway. That was easily the best meeting racing wise in quite a while. After Klindts first race win and leading his second until Freddie had engine problems causing Dan to fall he looked like he might have a decent night - and that probably made the difference in then end. Freddie wasn't too far away from the points either and seems to be moving in the right direction, albeit slowly. Tofty looked back to his best...and that man Laguta - wow - gonna enjoy watching him all season long!! Jason Edwards showed improvement with a decent bit of fight. Having said all that, had Kurtz been there last night BV would definitely have had a bigger win All moving in the right direction - wonder what the change is that Alex has up his sleeve?

  11. I'd certainly echo what Crescent Girl has said. In all my years watching speedway, I have never known anyone more passionate about the sport than Laurence Rogers. That doesn't necessarily make him a good team manager, but I can remember a few years ago Wolverhampton fans turning their ire on Peter Adams after a string of rubbish performances and a poor final league position. Adams was - and remains - the most successful in top flight speedway's history. I don't think that this is a matter of spite, but it is a matter of looking for someone to blame for Birmingham's disastrous on track performances over the last couple of seasons - in other words, a scapegoat. What you seem to believe is that if he left and the 'inept buffoon' was replaced by someone apparently more competent on track performances would dramatically improve. Looking through the 2023 predictions thread, most have Birmingham bottom and none have them in a play off spot. That means the team is poor - which it clearly is - and therefore whoever comes in is extremely unlikely to turn things around without significant changes. Booting Rogers out, then, will almost certainly make very little difference. I am not aware how much say Laurence Rogers had in building the team, but given a reported £250k loss last year even if he was wholly responsible it is more than likely that his hands - not unreasonably - were significantly tied in terms of the budget for the team. Blaming him - and only him - for Birmingham's present form seems to me, then, to be totally unsupported by the actual circumstances in existence.

  15. Whilst the Berwick fans will point to a poor performance from their side, it was an equally good performance from the Bears. Didnt really look a weak link tonight - having Riss back a lift for the whole side. Good to see King back on form, and both Hume and Bailey rode hard for not as many points as they may have deserved. But hats off to Mulford tonight, best home performance by a mile and rode really well. Shows what at least getting to the first bend in the mix can do, but made some great passes and will surely take a whole load of confidence from tonight. Knudsen had a strange night, looked excellent in his first two and then nowhere. Hook did his job but otherwise a poor performance. A big well done to Rory Schlein however - my nephews always stand and wave at the away riders vans as they leave. They often get a wave back, but Rory stopped his van and gave them a cap which they were absolutely over the moon with. A simple but effective way to get two new fans.

  16. Racing was as good as seen for a while. Heat 1 was very good, feel of Marcin held it tight would've held on. But another fine performance from the guy can only ride one track. Swap of Ben and Tom worked well for Tom, but you'd imagine would've got 20 between the 2 whatever way round put them.

  21. Wouldn't quibble with your Leicester analysis, but would suggest that you may be a good bit out as far as the "massively stronger" home team is concerned. Harry McGurk, for whatever reason, is currently nowhere near his known form. By my reckoning he's had four league meetings, three of them at home, and scored six plus four from 15 rides. Kelly was going well and while I take the point made elsewhere that riding in the top five is harder, results breed confidence and I think he will make the transition successfully. An extra ride for Pijper is potentially good news, certainly. I'd blink a bit at seven rides for Harrison, only lately back from serious injury. Without R/R he could, potentially, have had his four rides, one of McGurk's and perhaps another if anyone is struggling, reserve replacement for tapes/time exclusion and so forth. With R/R, he may need to take three of those rides, McGurk (and I do hope he fixes whatever is not working and returns to his customary standard) his full four. Injury and/or loss of form elsewhere would then be a big, big problem. But it's all opinion, which is why we all love to come on here and chuck in our two-penn'orth!!

  23. Its just dawned on me that most these riders don't give a crap about who they ride for and only who bids the most for them..so that's Tungate off to Lynn then....

  27. Cracking meeting and a superb performance from our boys . Cant remember seeing a better meeting at Armadale . Harris , Brennan , Vissing were outstanding while Basso and Nowak were solid , Complin showed how much riding for Glasgow means to him and young Ace was so unlucky , leading heat 2 then picking up grip and coming off and that seem to affect the rest of his meeting . For Edinburgh , the guests did their job . Worrall looked very fast and Kerr tried hard for his points . Castagna had his one good race , Thomson was rubbish and Lasse whatshisface had a up and down meeting , laterly mostly down . Woods was out his depth . Biggest shock of the night , a fiver for a pint in the bar

  29. Good to see Erik back, certainly hasn’t forgotten how to gate and will get racing sharpness back the more he rides. Comfortable win against a poor Berwick team in the end. Everyone chipped in and great to see Mulford ride with a bit more confidence. Only Knudsen and Hook were positives for the Bandits.

  38. Scores don't always tell a story though. Paid 12 and paid 11 looks decent enough but it was from reserve against other poor reserves (and one ride a meeting against Harry whos been getting beat by the mascot...probably). Riding in the 1-5 would have been a much tougher afternoon and a good haul would have been 4-5 points, i would be expecting Pijper and Harrison to easily achieve that covering his rides.

  40. To be honest I wasn't fussed about the result. I still am in the clouds with west ham winning a trophy at last. My two loves leicester lions and west ham. Loved the meeting last night and so many nice comments from fans saying congratulations as I strutted around with pride in my hammers top next to my dad. Thank you for everyone that were kind and genuinely happy for west ham. Let's hope the lions can make me dream again but winning the prem. Who knows Ive seen stranger things! Well done lions/irons.

  41. Travelling up for this one on the Jolly Boys Outing Looking forward to visiting the new track after many visits to Derwent Park. I'm a neutral, being a Pirate, for this meeting but travelling with 2 Lions so there will be plenty of banter shared between us. Could go either way so I'm excited with the prospect of seeing some great racing no matter who wins. Keep turning left

  43. A winning team and Laguta will bring the crowd back imo.Laguta and getting beat week after week will only improve a bit. There were some good races tonight, but ultimately you need a winning team to keep 95% of people happy and to keep coming back.Getting beat every week and the ones that came to see Artem will slowly drift away.

  45. Funny lot the “promoters” in the PL. Seems they only want clubs to join when it suits them…… for as long as I can remember they have been riddled with self interest, and been pretty hostile to newly “promoted” clubs. I remember Wimbledon under the Lanning family wanting to run 1st div. at Plough Lane being refused, Hackney Kestrels moving up:and being shafted with only the late Simon Wigg being allocated to strengthen the team. Oxford being refused a PL place … Nope the PL “promoters” are like a secret society running a closed shop ……. Think it’s time for the PL clubs to eat humble pie and apply to join the Championship in 2024 .

  47. PC had no involvement whatsoever with the development of promotion of the NSS. The 100+ names “demanded” were ex-riders, occasional sponsors (of him) and friends and acquaintances with no involvement with PC. There was never any suggestion of bringing along potential future sponsors. It was pointed out to him that any former Belle Vue rider would be welcomed - all they had to do was call in advance. As a former promoter, my stance would be the same. Any former rider of a team in which I was involved would welcome past riders wishing to attend. Sometimes, we’d ask that they agree to be interviewed or make themselves available to meet supporters. If any former rider wanted to attend every meeting, a financial arrangement would probably be reached, As a former promoter, I have had personal invitations to attend several tracks, (something I can rately take up) but I wouldn’t expect to attend free of charge every meeting at one track.
