  1. Atkins is rubbing Garry May's face on the dirt with every point he is scoring Dumped him at Somerset, dumped him at Plymouth. The kid has always had ability just needed the right environment. We'll done Oxford

  2. Redcar and Glasgow are definitely both the best racetracks and most welcoming in the CL. I've never really got Scunny to be honest, it can produce good racing but suits out and out track specialists in my opinion. Evidence Simon Lambert.

  3. Young Atkins was probably Oxford`s match winner.

  4. Speedway definitely the winner last night, overtaking from heat 1to 16. Richard Lawson the biggest difference last night in my opinion. Just went about his business, no drama, never out of control just so under the radar when everyone else seemed so frantic.

  5. Survived the monsoon weather and was surprised how well the track stood up to the rain . Thinking this was going to be a one sided encounter , credit to the Monarchs in proving me wrong . Ultimately it was the brilliance of Basso and Harris that proved desisive , heat 13 in particular was incredible . Pride restored in the Monarchs camp after last Friday , the new Dane seemed to like the Ashfield circuit better than his own .

  6. MT hasn't been given the chance to prove himself but at least he's stuck around. Alex was given the chance, fooked it up and done a runner.

  7. Doing well. Good to see the two pointers improving, Coles as well.

  9. I was like other Mons fans coming thro expecting another hiding. I was actually smiling when met with thunder & rain BUT…… what a speedway match. Best RACING I have seen in ages!!! it was scary, it was magnificent. Young Mr Basso and reliable Bomber were in superb form riding RIGHT on the edge. Million thanks to our old Champ winner Sedgy, excellent performance lad and I’m eager to watch Bastian progress, looks a great signing. Paco, Kye & Lasse all put in good improved shifts too Ht 13 should’ve been on TV - speedway from the top of the wardrobe, much too good for the top drawer. Disappointed not to take a point but I would’ve happily taken that score pre match

  10. Bandits promotion again proving why they are one of the best in the business, what a fantastic choice of guest at such short notice. I think this will be the night when the Bandits start their charge towards the playoffs after a lack of action at home for about a month, I’m sure we’ll see some smiling faces this evening. Sunshine speedway on a Saturday night, you won’t want to miss it.

  11. Came through to watch this thinking it was going to be a repeat of last Friday night, how wrong, when we arrived greeted with thunder and lightning,as said already don't think I've seen a better heat than 13 , Basso and Bomber magnificent all meeting, Edinburghs new signing going to be a good one on that showing Kyle started well but faded some other good racing as well.

  12. Ht 15 was an interesting one, a wide divergence of views on who should have been excluded, and not split across partisan lines. It probably depended on where you viewed it from. Either way it was a cracking match and that twist made it one of the best league matches I've seen in years - can't see the play-offs providing that much excitement. Redcar already topped my chart of favourite places to visit in British speedway, and is in no danger of being deposed. PS Good to hear Roy Clark is on the mend

  13. Total blockbuster of a meeting where both teams traded blow after blow....it was like something out of a rocky movie at times lol Some of the racing was brutal and not for the faint of hearts. After calming down (I'm a redcar fan) I saw heat 15 as charles tried to shut the door on stevie knowing he couldn't get to lawson and as somebody said maybe looked for the off.... It worked anyway and we got lucky and the ref seen it as Worrall at fault...could have gone either way. Charles sensational for the bears with danyon hume having a rock solid meeting at number two and jake mulford riding the wheels off his bike in every race....Danny King had a absolute shocker of a meeting with two heat wins, three lasts and a tapes exclusion. Erik clearly nowhere near fit and struggling. For Poole lawson was outstanding backed up by Worrall and Ben Cook. Zack Cook and Kyle Newman battling for every point.... Still don't know how we lost that... Superb speedway meeting tho !!!

  14. Dissapointing for sure, but something Swindon, Somerset, Newcastle & Eastbourne fans would be jealous of!

  15. Jorgensen was a poor signing at the start of the season, and he`s getting steadily worse. This wouldn't be tolerated at most other clubs.

  16. Nil point Nil money used to be a thing, not anymore, I think you will find most are on some sort of guarantee, especially the heat leaders, just a question of scale. The days of riders only getting paid fuel and start money if they score nothing are long gone.

  19. I stand by that comment, as a neutral the match result, even the "stupid heat" meant very little. Had there not been play-offs it would've been the most important heat of the season (so far). Now I'm sure Redcar & Poole fans cared about the result, myself find Berwick vs Oxford tonight more interesting. As for the racing anyone there of course would want to see a superb match.

  20. Buster is to blame for this he had someone willing to take a club off of him

  21. Hasn't ridden for a few weeks, prob needs the £££ and also prob helps to get back to race/match fitness, so why turn it down?

  22. Riss isn't anywhere near fully fit at the moment.

  23. I've never known Buster to put together a competitive team at KL in the top flight tbh.

  24. MT was given a huge chance before the beginning of the season and fooked it up by not delivering on his promises. Alex has unfortunately got a lot bigger concerns outside of speedway. To which is no ones concerns really. The problem with the invention of social media really is that everyone wants to know everyone's business.

  25. We are all aware that KL is Buster's baby, his one true love. You don't think that he would choose to invest more in the club that he cares about more? I can see why he don't want to spend his own "hard earned cash" on a Peterborough team where there is an all talk sponsor who hasn't really if we're being honest brought anything to the table after all the hype. It could be said that Buster has invested more into Peterborough this season already than he will at KL "it was me who did the deal with Nicki Pedersen to race at No.1, which unfortunately went wrong after one race".

  26. 100% this there's several more twists and turns to come in this Buster/MT saga that needs rectifying for the sake of the club. Neither have come out of this looking great for sure, however anybody who thinks Peterborough Panthers were worth anything without a rental agreement for more than one season are quite frankly mental. As for the second comment about replacing Jakobsen awaits Tungate for MPT now he's injured. I bet riders become available for King's Lynn all of a sudden

  27. Hmm, wonder why that is? Ironically if Redcar had a guest they probably would have won. Oh well.

  31. Oxford could have won by more, I was surprised they didn't use a tac sub in heat 6. Masters had already beaten Ross/Flint, so a 5-1 with Nicholls would've put them right back into the match (whilst meaning the reserves taking one less ride) of course it didn't matter in the end! Edit: Unless Berwick can win by 4 or 6 at Oxford lol!

  32. I'm starting to think Berwick, Birmingham, Edinburgh & Plymouth could lose every home match, except to each other. But one of them will still make the play-offs

  33. You know it’s getting bad when the commentators are telling the Berwick reserves to let the heat leaders through to chase the opposition.!!!

  38. I never thought I’d say this but it wouldn’t bother me if the season ended Tommorow, it seems the team I support have become a complete laughing stock amongst many fans I can understand giving young Ben a place this season if you had a solid rider supporting him in the other reserve berth but to put a youngster with a complete unknown is crazy and no one will convince me otherwise and then when you realise it’s not working to leave it this long without doing something I just don’t get it at least Birmingham are being proactive, the next few days will be very interesting.I realise I’ve hijacked the Birmingham thread again and I’m very sorry for that.

  40. Just watched the stream helluva meeting. Super heat was nearly as good as heat 13 at ashfield last night!! On the Wright/ worrall situation, bit stupid of Stevie getting involved imo, pretty obvious what Charles was doing just sit there and take the 4-2 win the meeting.

  41. Wright, Lawson , Worrall brothers were all eligible average wise to replace Rory if they were available

  42. Gutted we lost the meeting, but thoroughly enjoyable night of speedway that had a bit of everything. Mulford was superb, and it's great to see him come on week by week. Hume and Bailey again rode well and maybe deserved more. Wright was superb but shows we need all our heat leaders to be firing really. Heat 15 I thought we maybe got lucky.. Ben Cook is just so good to watch round Redcar, alongside Worrall and Lawson who rode well. Congratulations to Poole, and I think a great advert for what this sport can be.

  43. I think it is a great idea, which shows innovation and fan focused improvements to the sport, every meeting going forward has to have a winner which brings huge excitement.. Unless of course, you lose it.. Then it is a contrived crap idea and they haven't a clue on how to run things. What is bloody wrong with a draw anyway?..

  44. Would have been nice if the SCB published that info on their site. They were happy to document the Kerr / Basso incident but not this one. Now the incredible sulk has 28 days to not pay it whilst still riding and then get the club to pay it anyway.

  46. Will say this back in the 70s especially some team only visited once in a season Belle Vue prime example as both Lynn and Belle Vue at that time was Saturday night speedway so when Belle Vue visited it was go that night or wait till the following season now when Belle Vue or any other PL club you oh well go next time . And Saturday night speedway you got visiting fans sometimes even a coach now mid week racing that doesn’t happen. Of course bigger crowds better atmosphere obviously but won’t happen now sadly

  47. I made my feelings known yesterday when this terrible and inexcusable news broke. I've woken up this morning, and feel even more anger towards the SCB over this senseless and childish decision. Speedway is dying as quick as the Titanic sank, surely they must see that, so why SCB, why are you taking this stance (aka throwing your toys out of your pram), and sending the sport we ALL love, to the depths of no return. I know that you people deny in the most part, about reading social media postings, but the world and his friend know that you do. PLEASE TELL US, THE PAYING PUBLIC, why you have developed this hatred, against the people that are trying to help our sport survive for many more years to come, and at the same time, provide entertainment for all ages, something lacking in the world of speedway as we know it at the moment. as dwindling crowds prove. As things stand at the moment, Workington, Kent and Mildenhall, are the only two stand alone clubs in the NDL, with the latter in particular, doing everything in their power, to keep their club running in 2023, and hopefully beyond, with their fund raising and innovative ideas throughout the close season, due to alarm bells ringing over falling attendances, with people fed up seeing the same old thing, week upon week, and they are succeeding. What will happen if both the mentioned clubs decided to throw in the towel, and join the NORA set up? Answer is you'd have egg on your faces, as it would be the end of the NDL, with so few clubs operating in it, and it would all be down to your unexplained reasons to the public, and quite possibly I assume, to Messrs Bishop and Widman as to why you don't want the sport to survive and prosper, albeit a little different to what is is now. As a man who has spent his life supporting speedway since the days when riders like Ronnie Moore, Barry Briggs, Ivan Mauger etc; had never been heard of, I hate seeing my passion dying like it is. PLEASE, I BEG YOU, sit round the table with Barry Bishop, Martin Widman, and anybody else involved, and tell them of your feelings or even concerns of what they are trying to provide, and at the same time, LISTEN to their side of the story too, whilst enjoying a glass of wine, or maybe a meal, and have that relaxed conversation. If at the end of it, you realise that they are right, and you are wrong, then admit it, and put matters right. It takes a big man or organisation to admit they got it wrong, and by doing that, we the public, would applaud and respect you for doing that. It's not to late.
