  2. I said it last year and I will say it again this year - the BSN early bird season pass is the best value for money of anything I have bought this year. Bought it for both leagues this year - fantastic value! And, looking at it another way - the total cost of the early bird pass for both leagues was roughly half what it cost to go to Cardiff for the GP this year - including fuel, hotels and admission, programme etc. - that puts the whole thing into perspective as to what really is value for money - around 50 nights entertainment for half the cost of one night's entertainment. Really enjoyed BSN's coverage this year and the informal nature of it is great - a few bits of banter, a few laughs, and it's made by speedway people for speedway people so it almost feels like you're watching it with your mates! Roll on 2024.

  3. I just received an email, probably along with many other people, from East Herts Council that the planning application to turn Rye House into a community leisure and sports hub and also for retrospective removal of the speedway track has today been refused.

  4. I say the same thing every year, get the league sorted out early so the play off final is over the last bank holiday in August. A chance of decent weather, big crowd, good for the telly, people go home happy looking forward to next year. But no. Every year is the same old farce dragging it out against the elements with riders and track prep looking amateurish at best and then calling it off at heat 10. Everyone goes home wet, cold, fed up. Riders race hard all year for the finale to be a non event with rubbish weather. Never learn.

  5. So here we go, Sheffield don't deserve to be in the final because half their team got injured and it rained last night just before Wolves were going to mount a great comeback and win on the night and win on aggregate

  6. Harris has represented 6 out of the 7 Premiership clubs this season whether it being a permanent spell or a guest booking. Harris has had a permanent spells at Leicester and Peterborough this season. Harris has also made guest appearances for both Leicester and Peterborough this season. Harris helped Ipswich get into the final. Harris will now help Sheffield win the final. Plus Robert Lambert will have ridden in 13 Premiership meetings over the last two years and he may have two league titles to show for it LOL. You can't run a circus without any clowns, The higher ups have ruined our once great sport to the point of no return unfortunately, We used to be the best in the business now we're an Amateur laughing stock hence why the Sport in this country can't attract any new fans.

  8. We have successfully removed BSN from iptv services over recent weeks are in process of following legal procedures against those who have stolen our content. Coincidentally, our viewing figures have increased so it shows how much this was hurting us, and British Speedway. Account sharing has also been majorly cracked down on with some tightening of the code. We can also review every account and pick out those who are attempting to share viewings.

  10. Some fair points .. Guests are never perfect but i never seen anyone come up with better way that covers fairness and also make sure people go to watch the match still . i try to defend the powers that be as i understand how hard it is to get the balance right

  12. But yet, the only reason why Ipswich are even in the final is due to a Peterborough team (that made as many, if not more changes than Sheffield) winning an unlikely tie on aggregate against Leicester after improving their team massively. But of course, that was all fine!! Sheffield made changes when certain riders were underperforming, Ipswich didn't despite many fans calling for King (at that point) and Riss to go. Are Sheffield any stronger with guests than with Tai and Tobi, not on paper but could be. Are they any stronger than the first team put together, not really. It is what it is!! Lets just hope for a great close final and may the best team win!

  13. Sheffield finished top of the league last season, i didn't complain that we weren't league champions because i knew before the season started that who ever won the playoffs won the league why we have to go through this at the end of every season i don't understand, if you don't like the rules don't enter the competition, if you do enter it, don't complain about the rules at the end

  14. You can never judge the weather in the UK August was shocking this year You can have plenty of good weather in Sept and Oct . ..its still September now so last night is just unlucky

  15. Been over this a 1000 times..everyone knows the rules before hand. So it means zero how many points anyone finishes anymore its hardly a new thing and everyone understands how it works .

  17. Ipswich should have a big lead after Monday anyway... Lambert doesn’t ride Foxhall well at all (neither do Holder and Pickering) and Harris is very up and down nowadays, sometimes brilliant and sometimes awful

  18. What average would he come in on.surely get a reduction for the missing seasons.!!!

  19. It's amazing Not really..I expect you go back into any season in speedway and put that sort of thing up.if you wanted to. Or you could say he changed clubs once and was guest for two teams in the play offs. But of course that's not so dramatic

  22. That's just too sensible for some of the Ipswich fans to understand

  24. It's a complete cock up. Harris rode in the semi final so he should fall under the same rules as Belle Vue and Wolves riders. It makes no sense that this is allowed to happen. The Rules again are making a mockery of the sport.
    2 points
  25. No assessed averages and that is what Lambert is on, and in the best interest of speedway Harris shouldn't ride for Sheffield having already rode for Ipswich, makes the sport look so amateurish.

  26. It's a shambles that Chris Harris can guest For Sheffield having already rode for Ipswich. The rules are making a joke of the sport again.

  27. My suggestion for Sheffield wouldn't pass the forum filters

  28. i have asked this question in numerous topics, no one has replied with a solution except Sheffield shouldn't be allowed to be in the playoffs because of their injuries no comments from Ipswich supporters about them using two guests in one match against Belle Vue and one guest in the other Perhaps Belle Vue and Wolves should have been seeded to the final as they didn't need to use guests

  29. uninjured V injured jack holder,Tobi ,tai , dan (and vissing) CANNOT ride ...... therefore Sheffield have only FOUR riders fit . what is your suggestion/answer to this scenario ???

  30. Yes but you have to admit that gloatlys methodical approach compared to that of Humphrey’s will have made it easier for her to understand and come to a conclusion on the stadium aspect

  31. Even more so when a rider in a team that is in the play offs can't guest after their team is knocked out. But a rider whose team hasn't qualified for the play offs is allowed to represent 2 clubs. But hey sums the "sport" up in this country.... Here's hoping Harris has the same incentive as when he rode for the Witches in the play offs .. to do the opposite against the Witches

  32. The thing is there's been a hell of a lot of "opinion" presented as evidence... on both sides. It's the inspectors job to cut through all of this crap and make a decision based on actual evidence, and hopefully not opinion presented as evidence. Just because someday says it's evidence hopefully doesn't mean that it's just taken as read that it is "evidence"

  33. I know it’s the rules and it is what it is but it does nt seem right for me . But that’s only my opinion.

  34. People go so ott about Harris being a guest. . Just dont see any problem with it at all. Just the normal suspects acting like drama queen's over nothing as normal.

  35. A good meeting to finish off 2023, which was closer than the final score made it look and had some fine racing. But more disappointment after the meeting when a very emotional Josh Pickering announced he would not be back with the Monarchs next year. John Campbell announced Armadale is available for next year but there's still a few things to sort out before they can confirm Monarchs will be competing. He also said there were grave doubts over the NDL as a whole never mind the Monarchs Academy's participation. The season has obviously taken its toll on John and Alex, let's hope a new year brings more optimism and we're still able to watch the mighty Monarchs.

  36. Harris isn't riding with any allegiance to any team, he is riding merely for himself although I am sure he will be more than pleased if he has helped that team to a win. Its that simple.

  37. So we are now left with strange situation whereby a rider whose club is not in the play-offs but can guest for more than one club that is. However, if a guest rising star is required he has to be selected from the list as long as he is not already in current 1 -7.

  38. You could not make it up with all that has/is going on with regard to the oppositions riders and to add insult, Ipswich race on an off night to no doubt accommodate Sheffield who have limited nights available to race and so priority over race nights is conceded. One rule next year should include available nights to race and if the stadium owners consider that they can earn more money from other activities then the club has to have a question mark against it competing in the top league. At the end of the day it is a Mickey Mouse end of season competition and the real winners are Belle Vue who finished top and are league champions and Ipswich who won the cup, this end of season race off debacle are a series irrelevant fixture fillers.

  40. Yes the one achieved in 2019 that the regs state is no longer valid as it is too old and so he was given a new assessed average - albeit that they then attached the very same figure from 2019!! A direct contradiction - it's either relevant and suitable or it's not...... The reasoning also relies on what is NOT written in the regs rather than what IS. A bizarre approach to take! There in lies the basic problem. The reassessment should have reflected the true up to date ability (shown in his GP performance and play off appearances last season for example) Even now he COULD have an official average from 2023. Although the ideal is to use the first 3 home and 3 away meeting there is provision to attach an official figure without riding those 'minimums' Given Lambert has ridden a total of 6 (2 home 4 away) those results would give a fairer reflection and COULD be used

  41. But so did Sheffield have to go to Peterborough (twice) after them strengthening - and lost twice. We all agree, speedway in this country is a complete shambles, but i don't think Sheffield had much choice in what they have done, certainly no different to what other teams would do if they can/could. This is a forum and people will defend/criticize their own and or others - its life.

  43. Why was the Starting Marshal not removed from the meeting when he failed to collect the tape stabliser from the track? There is precedence for this when a similar thing happened at Workington a few years back.

  44. Who are these 'riders loyal to British speedway who get ditched just before the Play Offs each year'? Certainly not those who Lambert and Woffinden have replaced either this year or last.

  45. I was really against Sayfutinov coming before the start of the season down to ( through no fault of his own) being Russian and still not sure whether it's right to allow Russia and Russian's back into the civilised world at the moment including sport, my view and know not everyone will agree. But......disregarding that the man has won me over with his riding and attitude to British speedway, even Scott Nicholls had his arm round him after the semi final at Belle Vue.... Hope he comes back next year if there's a good enough league for him to come back to, although I fear not.
