You're right about Tate and Antti still learning away tracks and any other newcomers having to learn away tracks will make the Comets suspect away from home. Personally I can see Jye being a big improver this year. He'll love his new home track and the wide open spaces, plus from the teams point of view having someone else in the team who knows all the away tracks will be essential. I can see Jye adding 1.5 points on his average this year. I think Jye at his worst is a 5.00 point rider. I think he'll be a good improver and will be good for the team too.7 points

I don’t think masters is on the decline like some have said, I think he’s pretty much the same as he was a few years ago when he was no.1 for wolves, I just think there’s been an influx of higher level heat leaders return to the uk last couple of seasons and he now is more of a 3rd heat leader level in the pecking order4 points

As I said at the time, Lewy knows nothing. He edited to say Toby was back to cover himself. Anyway great news he is back, a crowd favourite and a real battler.3 points

The press release advising of the re-signing of Tobias went out yesterday but was embargoed until 7pm tonight. I suspect either someone who saw it sent it on to Lewy or else Lewy received it directly. Either way, the protocol for press releases was breached and was allowed to fall into the irritating realm of “I know something you don’t know” I would expect that @Skidder was one of the recipients but, as an experience journalist, he had the class to observe the embargo2 points

Because they were above the points limit. Not easy to strengthen up in that scenario. While they are weaker, I don't see any of the riders picked being particularly bad choices.2 points

I think Rowe for Howarth is an improvement, the problem Sheffield have is at reserve .2 points

Shame Poole aren't meeting Leicester in the k.o.cup as they wouldn't need to strengthen much!2 points

I went to Leicester a few times last season, great crowd and good banter everytime, and will definetly return this season and probably not just to watch Ipswich. I know they had to drop some points, and losing Lawson for Howarth for me is a real kick in the teeth for a good bunch of Supporters, but thats the Points situation i suppose, but i have to say getting Craig Cook back is a disaster in my opinion only, i hope im wrong, but if i was a Leicester fan, that would dissappoint me more than Howarth. But their Gaffa does change things around, he isnt afraid to do that, so we will wait and see, if Cook wasn't 1st choice, and i expect that is true, then who was??2 points

Stewart's not afraid to make changes and if Becker struggles early on and drops his average then I can see Stewart stamping his authority quite quickly with a team change or two. I'm not writing Leicester off entirely but as it stands it's not a play-off side.2 points

I think any youngsters coming to Glasgow has a good chance to greatly improve, with the 2 tracks big and small and unrestricted track time they would have a great chance to really develop.2 points

Good to see a line has been drawn under the matter. I know Alex is passionate about his speedway, and the Stars. And maybe sometime in the future he could be involved again in some capacity.2 points

Vinnie wanted to stay, and so did one of his main sponsors, if Poole had their way and the 38pt limit was imposed I reckon he would of been retained, but as it was 40 pt limit the Poole promotion went in a different direction.1 point

You could always take an extendable ladder and lean it up on the outer stadium fence. That way you can watch him without putting money in Chapmans pocket. 23 hours ago, Rickyag said: Well, we like watching Bomber whoever he rides for, but as he is riding forChapman then sadly we will not be watching Bomber anywhere for 2025.1 point

Interesting article on Mikkel Andersen on Speedway News PL website today. https://speedwaynews.pl/zuzel/dunski-talent-zostaje-we-wroclawiu/ Confirming his long term contract with Sparta Wroclaw U24 Team as well as being one of the 4 U24 riders qualifying for the POL EXL Team. He is expected to be second choice in that last role as one chosen for the EXL team normally. Perhaps bigger fish to fry than in UK Champ but the U24 Lge is Tuesdays so could in theory ride UK WED and other days. Probably a pie dream but you never know ?1 point

I can’t see past him or Bagnia for the title. Good news that all the sprint races are live on quest.1 point

I was there also. It was also the night Ipswich’ 3rd strongest home rider (Ellis) crashed in his opening ride and took no further part in the meeting. Becker, and the rest of the Leicester riders had an easy evening.1 point

You could argue he is here, which is all that matters for Birmingham. Musielak’s last full season here in 2023 for Sheffield, average 9.35 with bonus across all meetings, Lindgren this year for Birmingham, 8.85.1 point

And of course Berwick have never done the same to a Glasgow rider in the past have they... Cough David bellego cough cough lol. It's the way of the sport, we happen to be in position where riders want to come, but we spent many years before being the opposite end with riders being nabbed it taken if showed any promise1 point

I think some people are too harsh on Simon Lambert. Looking at his final averages since covid. 2024: 5.98 2023: 6.02 2022: 5.33 2021: 5.82 He's a solid 5 to 6 point rider. Not everyone can make it to be a top Champ rider.1 point
