I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on that one, for me this thread is for confirmed signings not common knowledge (unconfirmed signings)4 points

Honestly, I'm probably gonna eat my words in years to come, but I don't get all the hype behind Ashton. Yeah he's extremely talented on a bike for his age, but his attitude and the way he rides... I just can't see him developing into anything too crazy. Yeah he might eventually be a heatleader at Championship level, but I just honestly can't see past that. He reminds me a lot of Lewis Bridger. Bags of talent at a young age, but I just don't see him hitting full potential. I really like Glasgow and I hope it pays off for them, and it probably will, but he's not the next Bewley, Lambert, Woffinden in my eyes. I know it sounds stupid saying this already at his stage in his career, and I do hope I'm wrong... I just don't feel it with him, like I did when I first saw Robert Lambert and Dan Bewley ride, and I just can't explain why...4 points

By my sums, that team is over the limit? Richard Lawson 9.17 Lewis Kerr 7.76 Zach Cook 6.23 Anders Rowe 6.11 Sam Hagon 4.73 Tobias Thomsen 4.41 Two Pointer 2.00 Total 40.413 points

Well if you put it like that, how about the riders? They're only working for what, between 3 minutes and 7 minutes in an average meeting. The average Top End Speedway riders, hourly rate must be around Ā£21,000 per hour, that's about the same as very low end Premier League footballer isn't it? š± Maybe we should change each race to 12 laps, that way we'd get for 3 x our value for money, and bring these over inflated Speedway Rider salaries down to earth. Alternatively, we could all just go and watch League 2 football, that's about the same price; Ā£24 for a match, instead of these riders who go full throttle, for 4 blistering laps, putting their necks on the line, for the true Speedway fans. Value for money is subjective, and It's personal preference of course, but I know what I'd rather do.3 points

Have said this for while the student discounts for speedway are generally pathetic. Iām a Scunthorpe fan and a full time university student yet I still have to pay Ā£18 the same as OAPās and Ā£2 less than an adult general admission which is Ā£20. When you compare it to football it costs far less and people wonder why many young people arenāt interested in the sport!2 points

Happy with that team. Lawson was the best rider in the league last year. A proper number 1 who scores well everywhere. Hagon a young Brit who has so much potential. Good equipment and will kick on this season. Zach and Rowe both are in for big big seasons. Both need to kick on and will surely be the strongest 3/4 pairing in the league. Kerr could take the number 1 jacket from Lawson should he stay injury free. Poole as always will bring the best out of him. Tobais will hopefully pick up where he left from. No excuses with injuries this season so should get out of the reserve berth quickly good luck to whoeverās number 7 and hopefully they can stake a claim to not be the one dropped for Cairns2 points

The home riders know this also. Theyāve also been critical of the track. It needs sorting because if riders donāt have confidence to ride to the max there, then the supporters are the ones who will suffer.2 points

Genuinely not too fussed that AB isnāt returning. Didnāt like his attitude one bit, spent the second half of the season shutting off earlier and earlier, and if he didnāt gate he didnāt bother trying. Clearly a rider in there but happy for another team to find it.2 points

It's getting a little crazy now..it's not just the admission cost,it's the total package, for myself and spouse to go,looking at £50 +3.00 prog + 3.00 parking+5.00 fuel that's £61 before you even factor in any food and drink...that's 4.00 per race,6.00 if it's called off at HT 10.£61 for what equates to 15 mins of racing...value for money? I understand the overheads but....I rest my case,we for one won't be attending this season because of rising costs elsewhere.2 points

Dan Gilkes was never going to be the key rider in the team and Hume will be the same. Both letās be honest are poor riders at prem level. can genuinely see us struggling away from home, should have more than enough in the tank at home with all 1-5 capable of scoring big. If overall team averages drop management will be hooking Hume straight out the team1 point

Totally agree, I like Danyon, did not do a bad job for Poole and then Glasgow a couple of years ago but was very poor for Ipswich and I would say he is not good enough for the premiership now.1 point

Your persistent juvenile comments about "pensioners" are starting to grind, just like Starmer and Reeves you haven't got a ckufing clue. I'd like nothing more than to be able to pay £25 to see it live or afford the cost of a BSN subscription, the best I can do is Discovery plus. You have always been on the not so bright side Daniel but from my perspective it really is time to keep your posts and comments relevant and in perspective.1 point

I'd be surprised if hagon is still at Poole especially as they let Vinnie go who is alot better prospect on a lower average.1 point

Nobody believes that the rising star order of pick was real, riders have literally ended up where they wanted/was agreed by all clubs. No way Leicester choose to keep Hagon over Flint. It is what it is, riders will tell different people different things. After today, Cheetahs definitely have some decisions to make, including how they manage to get Nicholls back into the team when/if fit1 point

Well if it weren't Gilkes, Hume was always gonna be the best of the rest. Think we've left ourselves a bit too vulnerable at reserve, Hume was really poor last season in a weaker championship and at this point in his career I cant see him improving much. Hope he can prove us wrong but we'll see. Very interested to see what the situation is with Gilkes, shame as he really seemed well suited to Owlerton.1 point

Very surprised! Struggled in the Champ last season by his standards imo. Be interesting to see how he does as had 1 or 2 years away from the Prem now?1 point

So you would be happy for Ipswich to keep the same team but be well under the points limit. Teams change every year to fit below the points limit. Rules are rules, all teams have a choice what they do to fit to the points limit. So if the rumours on here are true and BV drop Mulford when Cairns becomes 16 is that not by choice?1 point

This was a quote by Chris Louis in the Speedway Star after Witches 45-45 draw against Sheffield in the KOC final "Keynan was exceptionally good tonight. He has stepped back into the team after that spell at reserve and to see him riding that well in the main body of the team gives us great optimism looking ahead to next year" Obviously in September Ipswich were planning to have Rew in the 2025 side.1 point

Yep. There are some pretty dry speedway books out there. But I don't think you can go wrong with either the first John Berry book or the Kenny Carter one. Both very good.1 point

You missed the possible 50p increment between the Ā£1 & Ā£2 increase. Regardless of your budget, the nominal price increase will not determine whether someone will attend or not. Most people will accept what theyāve been served up previously or will have walked away from the sport before now. If all tracks were to reduce prices by Ā£2, how many more spectators would that attract each week?ā¦ā¦. Exactly! That isnāt going to bring back the āYes I remember going to speedway years ago, what happened to the sportā brigade. Tweaking admission costs are the very least of the sports problems in this country.1 point

That's easy for you to say but let's be honest who would offer you any sort of signing on fee.1 point

Fair enough, as I say I'm happy to be proved wrong and I hope nothing but the best for Glasgow, it's a city close to my heart, although I don't follow their speedway team, I do like to see them succeed. I've seen Ashton have absolutely blinding races where he looks like he's been racing for decades and I've seen him shut off and bottle it against riders much slower than him... I guess it's to be expected at such a young age and he might grow past that stage and properly kick on, time will tell. Hopefully he's a superstar soon enough.1 point

IMO every team should be aiming to run 2nd half races for junior riders, let riders book in advance so they know they're guaranteed 2-3 rides. Obviously major incidents or bad weather will impact on the time available to run the races, but if meetings started at the advertised time, no delayed start due to queues outside, unless a major RTA in the area. If everyone knows the parade is 7:15 and first race 7:30 its upto them to get into the stadium ontime. Barring major incidents or poor weather it should be easy to get 15 races done and dusted in 90 minutes, leaving a fair bit of time for some junior races.1 point

Did Rachel Reeves come up with the ticket pricing structure at Sheffield for 2025?1 point

According to my memory and subsequent research, Zagar only did two meetings at Leicester. Scored 9+1 from five rides and then 1 from four rides (failed to finish in 3 races). Pretty sure that he made his dislike for the track well known and was absent from the Aces line up on their later visits. To say you are easily pleased would appear to be a massive understatement!1 point

Youāve previously claimed rew was unceremoniously dumped on the scrapheap by Ipswich - merely using your words to point out same can be said for Ben cook š also One further point - you said if youāre rational then facts should affect opinions, Chris Louis stated rew left mostly for his own reasons yet you continue to slander Louis and Ipswich claiming he was unfairly sacked. Sounds like some contradiction that or are you not rational?1 point

With yesterday's announcement regarding more teams looking to join the national league it will be interesting to see what the points limit will be . Also will the upper level championship average be raised as currently will block several riders from competing. Will they stop riders doing all three leagues personally think anyone riding premier league shouldn't be in national league.1 point
