I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on that one, for me this thread is for confirmed signings not common knowledge (unconfirmed signings)4 points

Honestly, I'm probably gonna eat my words in years to come, but I don't get all the hype behind Ashton. Yeah he's extremely talented on a bike for his age, but his attitude and the way he rides... I just can't see him developing into anything too crazy. Yeah he might eventually be a heatleader at Championship level, but I just honestly can't see past that. He reminds me a lot of Lewis Bridger. Bags of talent at a young age, but I just don't see him hitting full potential. I really like Glasgow and I hope it pays off for them, and it probably will, but he's not the next Bewley, Lambert, Woffinden in my eyes. I know it sounds stupid saying this already at his stage in his career, and I do hope I'm wrong... I just don't feel it with him, like I did when I first saw Robert Lambert and Dan Bewley ride, and I just can't explain why...4 points

Well if you put it like that, how about the riders? They're only working for what, between 3 minutes and 7 minutes in an average meeting. The average Top End Speedway riders, hourly rate must be around Ā£21,000 per hour, that's about the same as very low end Premier League footballer isn't it? š± Maybe we should change each race to 12 laps, that way we'd get for 3 x our value for money, and bring these over inflated Speedway Rider salaries down to earth. Alternatively, we could all just go and watch League 2 football, that's about the same price; Ā£24 for a match, instead of these riders who go full throttle, for 4 blistering laps, putting their necks on the line, for the true Speedway fans. Value for money is subjective, and It's personal preference of course, but I know what I'd rather do.3 points

Sheffield should never have kept all 3 HL's, Not going anywhere with those reserves.2 points

Have said this for while the student discounts for speedway are generally pathetic. Iām a Scunthorpe fan and a full time university student yet I still have to pay Ā£18 the same as OAPās and Ā£2 less than an adult general admission which is Ā£20. When you compare it to football it costs far less and people wonder why many young people arenāt interested in the sport!2 points

Happy with that team. Lawson was the best rider in the league last year. A proper number 1 who scores well everywhere. Hagon a young Brit who has so much potential. Good equipment and will kick on this season. Zach and Rowe both are in for big big seasons. Both need to kick on and will surely be the strongest 3/4 pairing in the league. Kerr could take the number 1 jacket from Lawson should he stay injury free. Poole as always will bring the best out of him. Tobais will hopefully pick up where he left from. No excuses with injuries this season so should get out of the reserve berth quickly good luck to whoeverās number 7 and hopefully they can stake a claim to not be the one dropped for Cairns2 points

The home riders know this also. Theyāve also been critical of the track. It needs sorting because if riders donāt have confidence to ride to the max there, then the supporters are the ones who will suffer.2 points

Genuinely not too fussed that AB isnāt returning. Didnāt like his attitude one bit, spent the second half of the season shutting off earlier and earlier, and if he didnāt gate he didnāt bother trying. Clearly a rider in there but happy for another team to find it.2 points

It's getting a little crazy now..it's not just the admission cost,it's the total package, for myself and spouse to go,looking at £50 +3.00 prog + 3.00 parking+5.00 fuel that's £61 before you even factor in any food and drink...that's 4.00 per race,6.00 if it's called off at HT 10.£61 for what equates to 15 mins of racing...value for money? I understand the overheads but....I rest my case,we for one won't be attending this season because of rising costs elsewhere.2 points

With Gilkes it was a risky side imo but at least Gilkes had the scope to get better whilst Hume has had numerous chances in the Premiership already.1 point

Who'd want to be at seven knowing when Cairns turns 16 you're out the door no wonder you're not sure who's at 71 point

After his actions in our first season, and at the Champ Pairs last season, I donāt want to see that bloke anywhere near our track.1 point

I stand corrected, perhaps I am being harsh on Ashton, especially considering I've only seen him a few times in person. I hope he kicks on next year and starts pushing for that 3rd heatleader spot in the Glasgow team, would be really nice to see him progress, I have nothing against him whatsoever. I think I forget just how young and raw he is, when I'm comparing him to the likes of Drew Kemp, Anders Rowe etc... They've all got a fair few years on him.1 point

So basically reintroducing the old Conference League & Trophy set up. [But no doubt we'll be told it is the dawn of an exciting new era!]1 point

Seems an odd choice to offer a 3 point rider a spot to replace a 5 point rider you had planned to use though? If it was a week before the season, I'd understand it?1 point

I can see where this idea has come from, clubs happy with 5 or 6 home matches, but riders wanting more than 10/12 fixtures. Would it be better to run as joint teams like Scunthorpe & Sheffield did? That way if a stand-alone team wants to enter (Eastbourne at Iwade) they can get a full season of racing?1 point
-
If thats the case, itās typical speedway, a mess of an idea ! How can you have two āleaguesā running with different team sizes and riders competing in both ? Doubling up is what has caused 80% of the issues in British speedway as it is . Sounds like a series of āAmateur challenge matchesā where anyone can enter.1 point

I can't see a way JJ doesn't return - loves it here and said if it wasn't for the RS at Ipswich I certainly think he would have been in the Spires set up too. I think Gilkes will be here based on his guesting at the end of the season and the things that were said, but we can't say that for sure. Likewise I'm confident Jody Scott will be #7.... my one thought is whether we'll actually see Scotty return. Nothing concrete yet and I'm concerned that the injury at the end of the year has made him think about retirement - that's my own suspicion and is based on nothing concrete.1 point

Ok boomer 𤣠fact - belle vue had reduce their team average fact - theyāve chosen to unceremoniously dump Ben cook - their biggest improver from last season on the scrapheap1 point
-
I know you were talking about rew not exactly hard to see through your vagueness to find the repeated Ipswich jibe you spout daily - read Louisā report, rew moved on due to his reasons and Louis hopes heāll be a witch again in future š An alternative narrative for you - ben cook was belle vueās biggest improver last season, has improved every season the last few years and made great strides on the continent too last year and for his efforts got kicked to the kerb meanwhile lidsey drops a point and a half and is retained!? Lidsey will have been on higher wages at the start of the season no doubt and I canāt imagine Ben wouldāve asked for more this season than lidsey will be getting, loan fee you say? canāt imagine thatās a great amount and will be offset by travel expenses with Ben being uk based and lidsey not. as much as I donāt want to see kings Lynn succeed as our old farm rivalsā¦when they visit the NSS I sincerely hope Ben scores a match winning double figure haul. hope that helps.1 point

The subtlety of 89Buttons' reply has obviously gone waaaay over your head. Ipswich did not dispense with Rew. As stated by Chris Louis, it was mostly Rew so, in the end, a mutually agreed decision. If you have evidence otherwise, please tell. Hint: It makes sense to click on "Quote" when responding - then it's clear who you are replying to.1 point
