Just been reading that Scunthorpe v Redcar BSN fixture on Good Friday is a double header with Scunthorpe v Middlesbrough Tigers NDL Fixture. 3pm start. Well done both promotions for making it a worthwhile trip 👍

The problem is fans don't always attend in numbers to make more fixtures viable, obviously this isn't the case for every fan but maybe the majority? 1) Fans say "we want more matches" 2) Clubs put on a challenge match to start the season 3) fans don't turn up in great numbers, say they want official fixtures only 4) clubs put on NDL matches 5) fans don't turn up, say they want Championship level racing only 6) because Edinburgh, Glasgow, Redcar & Scunthorpe all race on Fridays, to make 2 home & 2 away work, clubs have to ride on an off- race night 7) fans don't turn up, say they want Friday matches only. Not saying the current situation is great, just that every solution / alternative has flaws.

It has nothing to do with Poole, other than the fact they are not in the Premiership nor in the Premiership KOC. If you posted a new thread in the Premiership section maybe called "new KOC idea" fans, especially of other Premiership teams could comment wether they think it's a good idea or not, maybe get a healthy debate going? But posting here could clog up the thread with comments that have nothing to do with Poole.

They have to get the ticket prices right for it to be a success IMO. I have seen prices of around 65-70 quid a ticket which is absolutely insane money for an event at Belle Vue. No matter where you are sat, its worth nowhere near that.

Just cultivating opinion/input into Poole 2025 Forum. Better than seeing all the useless waffle aimed at Poole joining/not joining the Prem KO Cup for 2025. Feel free to watch the videos to see if you agree that whether he is the choice or not he shows early signs of being a decent rider considering he was only 16 in Nov and was 15 in the 2 meetings I viewed. I would hope my almost 55 years of watching the sport live - via TV and online has given me a small insight into riders who display potential at an early age 🙂

But, but, I thought everything was to do with Poole, the British speedway world revolves around them, and other teams exist only to ride against Poole. 🤪😉

Your assessment sounds bang on. If the fixture list was 2 home 2 away then fans would pick and choose leaving clubs with a hole in their pockets. The current set up is best of bad bunch but may be most sustainable and that is crucial.

Unfortunately the fixture list is just about a copy and paste job.Certainly won’t attract newcomers and probably find a few more losing interest.

Been told the same, also the wrapping itself my brother who works in motor industry says parts deliveries in such packaging is often lost & delayed, no probs with letter size, A5 & A4 envelopes, boxes or jiffy bags / padded envelopes. No Star for me as yet, ish W/E 11-1-25, wanted something to read so tried Asda, Tesco, WH Smith & 2 wee papershops; no joy....

He was also at the NLRC round at Poole last year, and took 2 rides to suss it out and after that looked pretty good.

No. Apparently it was a mutual decision - he might not have been the one to go, but was happy to move on - hopefully to gain some different experience before returning. Either way, the signing of Brennan is a veritable no-brainer.

Tony was riding Grasstrack up until a couple of years ago. Injury put an end to his Speedway career, later went on to do a bit of MotoX and in the 2000s had a good few years at Pre-75 GT. Also part of Bristol GRC organising meetings.

I think that comes from Poole winning most seasons.

The decline of the sport in GB is the obvious reason for Cardiff be no longer viable( relying on casual people turning up for a sporting event is not good business model).Discovery are relying on selling the sport to TV audience and don’t want massive outlay expenses ,hence the reason that they are running in existing venues some of which don’t have large capacities.The clubs and Countries pay to host the event and probably have to cough the money for Temporary Stands ect. .Thats what happened last year at Manchester hence the very high pricing, which backfired big time.Im sure Manchester will sell out this year though.(hopefully they will get the pricing right to sell it out though) Will there be profit in it for whoever Promotes it,is the question.

The Spedeworth fixture list has been issued for the first half of the 2025 season with the first car meeting bing on 22nd March which means a full season of speedway should be possible if they can be fitted in between the car racing and if the BSPL will agree. Here's hoping things work out successfully.

No Poole v Sheffield ko cup fixtures now so Pirate fixtures can start at Easter as planned.
