Then you’re not a true fan are you? You sound like Mike the Belle Vue “fan”. I’m sorry but this point of view utterly baffles me. Any kind of sport is about winning and trying to win. All this “it’s the entertainment and taking part” b0llocks has never sat well with me. I’ve seen some on here say their team lost but they walked out of the stadium “happy” because the racing was excellent and it was a good meeting. I can honestly say I’ve never ever walked out of Foxhall “happy” if the Witches have lost, regardless of how good the racing was. Maybe I’m in the minority, but give me a Witches thrashing of the opposition in a dull meeting over the Witches losing and it being thrill a minute.5 points

This is the bit that I don't understand, visas should only be issued when their are no British riders are available, so long as there are British riders out of work then no visas should be issued.3 points

Pipe down fella. You’re claiming to be a fan of Birmingham Speedway for 54 years, you’re the most prolific Birmingham poster on here, clearly passionate about your club (nothing wrong with that btw), are the first to have hissy fits on here when things are going wrong for Birmingham on this forum, and yet you’re trying to tell me and everyone else on here that you couldn’t “give two shiny sh!tes about trophies/titles”??? Yeah, nobody is buying that utter boll0cks. It’s YOU who make ME laugh, and again I’ll include Mike the “Belle Vue fan” (sorry can’t remember your exact username otherwise I’d tag you in) in this, who when leading up to crucial play off tie’s will give it the “the title is meaningless, I’m just gonna go with my friends for a beer and enjoy the racing, not bothered by the result” who then proceeds to give it the big un when his team takes the trophy. Why do people do this? Of course it’s not meaningless, of course it idiot!ng matters!! Otherwise what’s the whole point? There are those out there that no longer have their teams running who still enjoy watching because they’re fans of the sport, who don’t really care one way or another who wins but just enjoy watching speedway in general, no problem that’s fair enough. But you’re clearly not one of those are you? Stop pretending that success for Birmingham means absolutely nothing to you, because it blatantly does. Sorry but I refuse to believe that someone as passionate about their club as you clearly are, doesn’t care whether that club wins or loses.2 points

They moved mulford to reserve so they improved the line up massively, no disrespect to Jake. this is not one to be missed2 points

Much as I would like to see a new track reopen, I find this idea of a loan from the SRBF to a private business, to be in very bad taste. What would the Charity Commission think of a charity gambling with injured riders' money in this way?2 points

Speedway is the only sport that penalise anyone who shows improvement, look what happened to Jack SMITH and Nathan Ablitt, both riders came up from N D L to reserves in the championship and both improved their averages ,and claimed places in the top five of their teams. Then after all the time and effort they put in sees them both frozen out of team places i would not be surprised if one or both decide its not worth putting all the time and money into speedway. I dont know of any other sport were improving goes against you surly something must be done to stop such ridiculous things happening to riders.1 point

Here! Here! I agree.... "We Are The Champions" etc etc etc..😁 PS (It doesn't really matter who wins, just enjoy the Speedway, whilst it lasts)... I am a Speedway fan... "Dribble, Dribble, Where's me tartan rug for me knees"1 point

Says the true fan who walks out if they've lost before the end! Lol I've never done that... but I don't judge you for doing it... Many times I'd rather have a pint ... make it an IPA ! I hope Ipswich win the league and cup, coz I'm worried about you if they don't! 😃1 point
-
You make me laugh....you sound like a kid in a school play ground ? Not sure what you mean by 'true' fan? .....I can definitely say that I'm a fan of 'speedway'! I go to different tracks/meetings up and down the country...it supports other clubs too.... Not really fussed if that makes me an 'untrue' fan? LOL 😄 Thanks for making me smile today ! 😄1 point

Borrowing a significant amount of money from an external source doesn't seem to be a good fit with the fan ownership model Presumably "the fans" would then be responsible for paying back the loan regardless of what happens1 point
-
Shame it annoys you...I couldnt give 2 shinny sh#tes about titles/trophies.... After following B'ham for 54 years and winning nothing (Div 2 Title and KOC was nice in 1974, but I was a kid back then...) ... just having a local track to watch racing is 'silverware' for me....😃1 point

So do the "powers that be" at Swindon honestly think the fans are stupid enough to believe the latest nonsense?1 point
-
They are the best side but they had serious injuries, hope they are back to somewhere near their best, there are no guarantees. There are some who think everything is against Belle Vue who are also one of the best teams.1 point

Ya not wrong buddy... good times... I do miss those Sundays watching the Speedway and having a good swally... the craic was great... some of the best ones were the Glasgow early doors meet then the dash back to Newcastle for the second meeting... Regards THJ1 point

I would never risk loaning injured riders' money from the SRBF to a certain character involved in this grift. Especially one who doesn't know Colin Ackroyd from Paul Ackroyd.1 point

Speedway in Britain will never recover fans until they stop running mid week meetings. most other sports run at weekends and attract large crowds football rugby would not be getting the crowds on week night except the top league teams.time to forget pleasing Poland and think about saving the sport in this country.1 point

'Colin Ackroyd'! Is a loan to a Speedway promotion within the terms of the charity's aims and objectives as stated in the governing document?1 point

So Doyle is confirmed to ride in the NKI testimonial Sunday week in the season’s curtain raiser. He’s also set to ride in the Peter Craven memorial a day later, Douglas’ testimonial on the 22nd, and the Ben Fund on Sunday 23rd, the day before the first competitive fixture at Belle Vue in the KOC. Busy pre-season for him and after 10 months on the sidelines, very welcome. He should in theory be up to speed when it’s needed at Belle Vue.1 point

Doyle,Brennan,Rowe and NKI make up the Newport team.Looking like a very competitive 4TT,can't wait and hope the weather plays ball for this opener.1 point

Get yourselves back down John, can't believe two such big Speedway fans can have lost all enthusiasm for a sport which is still a great watch. Best wishes to you both 👍1 point

I only went to 1 Birmingham meeting last year and I really enjoyed it, I really need to do better and get my arse into gear and go some more1 point

I understand why you lost interest in live matches after we exchanged private messages, but while you are sat in your armchair, it would be good if you started posting on here again.1 point

It was Rugby Council who opposed the planning application, and the appeal against the decision was refused by the Government Planning Officer.1 point

Yes, all sounds great but we have seen it all before and seen it from Osbourne, I guess we will have to hope it happens because what’s the alternative? Blunsdon like Brandon is dead in the water now and if either teams are to come back it’s going to be at a new venue and for those who get triggered by me saying Brandon is gone, get real, Brandon estates will never give up that land for speedway, it will drag on and on for as long as supporters keep peeing money up the wall to oppose planning for houses,if they took a different route maybe just maybe Coventry would be back now imo1 point

Good to see Tai back on his bike and looking as comfortable and smooth as ever .1 point

Have to admit I’ve walked out when a result has been confirmed when we’ve lost. Rather go to the pub and get a decent pint.0 points

I see this a lot and to be honest, it annoys me. Absolutely it does and not just the supporters either. At the end of the day, this is sport, it’s win or lose and it’s competitive. Ask Chris Louis off record if he’s bothered if Ipswich finally win the title or not..0 points
