Spot on.... Especially following a team that has had regular success over the last few years... It could get "boring" being so successful.... And another potential impact to crowds is having so many high profile non Aces meetings chosen to be held there due to the entertainment level the track provides.. Meaning their fans forking out for so many major international and domestic meetings to attend... Plus of course being one of the very few top tier teams to run a development team season after season... Much better maybe to run just one team, using talent that has been developed elsewhere, and regularly coming close but ultimately failing to win the top prize, but bleating (every single season it appears), about being unlucky with injuries...?5 points

Fingers crossed Ben Cook isn't to badly injured. Regardless of opinion & form, nobody wants to see anyone out through injury šš»5 points

If someone already has a CMA (over 6 meetings) then their average changes from the 1st of every month. It takes into account last years meetings also, and is based on the last 20 meetings raced. All of Lynnās riders fulfil that criteria, so the averages will be be changed on 1st May up to and including meetings to the 21st April.3 points

How about we all turn the TV off after heat 20 and just keep our own scorecards? Whatever goes on after heat 20 is their own circus š¤3 points

Might have been fun butā¦. 02.2.1 Announcer / PresenterTo provide spectators in a strictly impartial manner with information, ncluding Referee's racing decisions, instructions or statements, required to understand and enjoy a Meeting. Under no circumstances should they make comment that incites any section of the crowd, or on any matter that is sub-udice or gives the impression a protest has been/is being made against a Referees decision .3 points

Just a side note... the commentator on BSN last night stated that Bomber wouldn't have been able to be selected for a Super Heat if he'd taken 7 rides. It didn't sound right, I've checked the rules and the maximum 7 rides per rider applies to the 15 heats only.3 points

Of course it is a major sporting championship that is worth winning... A fact clearly proven last night by an Ipswich rider being the second highest scorer for Oxford...3 points

Excellent news that Tai is on the mend hopefully will fully recover to lead a long and healthy life ,with regards to speedway I think that a decision is some way down the road . Imo people either over- under estimate wealth ,speedway is in real terms expensive to participate in, even at the very top compared to the overall rewards .3 points

Yes we have really stole talent developed elsewhere like Danny King and Adam Ellis and have had no part to play in Dan T developing ā¦. Canāt seem to remember any Ipswich fans bleating about injuries any seasons apart from the last one where to any knowledgeable speedway fan Ipswich would have been champions but thatās speedway you get unlucky at times3 points

Win for KL but at what cost? Leszno are fighting to get back to the top flight of Polish Speedway and they'll be furious tonight to a point where they could flex their muscles.3 points

Ipswich v Sheffield final barring injuries Or if Belle Vue get 2 new reserves2 points

I donāt know why Wright got so animated, but it created a good atmosphere for 10-15 minutes. Kevin Long was stoking it up and it gave the crowd the opportunity to boo a pantomime villain for a while. Good fun really.2 points

This fantasy speedway who and where is this 8 point assessed rider ? The team is what it is for this season . There might be changes if injuries force the situation and who knows Robert Lambert might fancy the last month of the season once Poland and the GPs have finished - but for now I honestly canāt see any change in the team2 points
-
some people moan about lack of characters and confrontation compared to the 70s though so maybe we should embrace a bit of needle and hoo haa a little bit of jostling and finger wagging all adds to the atmosphere maybe it should be encouraged and riders not hammered for getting a bit wound up its a highly charged sport after all2 points

Sam's Grandad, Alf, rode for Leicester Hunters from 1957 until 1961. According to Alan Jones' book on the Leicester Hunters Era he was the anchorman between reserves and heat leaders. He rode for England five times during their winter tour of Australia in 1958/59.2 points

Lynn are never going to rip up the template after four league matches, nor are they going to dispense with Kvech in April. And personally I would only replace Cook if he was going to drop to reserve, and even then only temporarily. All very well saying '8 point and 5 point assessed' riders but who is realistically going to come over when they've got their season planned out and Poland had started.2 points
-
Good win for Lynn that was. 8 points down and home riders throwing points away whilst in good positions, they could have easily let their heads drop but they dug in and fought back well. Important result.2 points

Belle Vue is the track with the most home track advantage in the league ā¦. Riders set their bikes up to go quick and thatās it doesnāt take much skill to be able to do that Kurtz and Bewley are top riders wherever they ride but because of their home track advantage they are almost unbeatable at home Lidsey can only ride well at home and same with Blodornā¦.. no other team in the league would take a chance on either of those because they canāt ride anywhere else really ⦠you bang on about Lidsey but he isnāt fit to lace Tom Brennanās boots when you look at the overall package⦠give me a rider who can score anywhere rather than just be good at home You do have a good track but it doesnāt need much skill to ride it and I prefer skillful riders rather than throttle jockeys Go watch Mark Loram v the Karlsson brothers on you tube and tell me that that isnāt class skilful speedway2 points

Quite radically.... First against fourth and second against third this season... Controversial.... "There's nothing to see here, move along please".....2 points
-
That was my initial thought too.... I hope Ben isnt on one of those contracts that will cost him money if he gets injured riding in another league.....2 points
-
Someone needs to have a word with him. This is speedway and there is always going to be close or very close contact.Undoubtedly he can be fast, but he needs to be a couple of yards in front to get points. He spooked himself tonight when he nearly binned it (ht2) and basically stopped. Then when Lawson went by he was spooked again.I hope he can sort this side of him out because there is potential there for all to see.2 points

These big wins by Belle Vue are not doing the sport any favours at all⦠Iām sure with more easy victories the fans will not go to watch and crowds will dwindle They didnāt even need their number one rider ⦠they are not helping the league Belle Vue speedway is dying with results like this but when you can go out and spend money getting Kurtz Lidsey and Cook in over the years itās just chequebook speedway2 points

Good win for Lynn, can't help but think they'll be buggered when Bomber moves up from reserve, can't see many of the others banging in the kind of performances that Bomber does around Lynn.2 points
-
Buster wouldnāt get away with his delay tactics on his tractor to get bomber more time in Poland and he shouldnāt be allowed to get away with it here, itās the little things2 points

They did and were on the pace in all of there heats. Im glad the poster didnāt follow us when we were dross nearly every season, donāt think he/she wouldāve coped.2 points

Really hope Matt Ford is keeping an eye on Cooper Rushen . He would make a good reserve partner for Will Cairns in 2026 š1 point

Definitely better having Klindt down at reserve imo.If you couldn't get a decent guest for Cook at reserve you are stuffed. At least if Cook is in the 1-5 and you couldn't get a decent guest you could run R/R.Not ideal but at least you could use Klindt and one above Cook in the averages.1 point

Yes, Charles was no biggie for us in ā23. The same Charles that has top scored for his new team twice in five days, with one of those being at IPSWICH! Be surprised if we made a switch as since 2019 we have only dropped 1 permanent Ace during the season . We are in fact the only club yet to drop an RS since the scheme began all those years ago.1 point

Thanks for your kind words but I've long since stopped attending these events after spending literally hours of my life waiting around while absolutely nothing is happening.1 point

There's a new update from the savecoventryspeedway group on their website. For some reason i don't seem to be able to add a link here. The message sounds quite positive & they are asking for fans support via email or post to help the cause. If anyone could provide a link to the item it would be a great help.1 point

Ellis did nothing wrong, just the usual angry handbags from Wright...1 point

In a non televised meeting the ref obviously only gets one look at it. Not an easy job, and it can look different from different angles. I was an incident recorder for a while and I'd say refs get most right1 point

Hope Dan is ok and wonāt be too troubled by his injury. Great to see The Aces step up so well and fill his pretty large boots. Run of the mill Aces win but with plenty of thrills along the way, more if you use the BSF term for exciting racing as many races saw positions change on bend two whilst jostling for space off the gate. Jaimon was the difference between win and bigger win with a sublime performance. I remember first meeting Jaimon when Mark brought him over to meet us after collecting him from the airport. He looked like a rabbit in the headlights. To see this score from the 4.00 rider we initially signed is so satisfying on many levels. Amazing stuff. Iām liking to look of many of the RS riders this year. Luke looked great as did Ashton last week and to see Dan do so well after graduating from the system, I think things are looking quite rosey for Team GB going forward.1 point

I have to agree. A very enjoyable watch. Cooper Rushen was very impressive, and I thought unlucky to be excluded in one heat - no or very minimal contact from my view point. Luke Harrison and Jody Scott also impressed. Birmingham should be aapplauded for running an NDT team, and then running an MDL match to follow. Great value for money in my book1 point

Looks like the track is prepared for 1 rider, great stuff from Bomber1 point

cant believe the question marks on cook, whoever is at no1 in this team will struggle, thats the making of the team, once cook gets to a middle order he will be fine, then whoever moves to no1 will start to struggle. you are basing cooks performances from no1 against belle vue and sheffield, both of who are top heavy so even the teams with good no1s will struggle to score good points.1 point

Depends if the club wants to focus on development or winning. If it's development, put the strongest rider in the top 5, let him learn by racing tougher riders & allow the weaker 3.00 riders more races against the opposition reserves by riding at 6 & 7. If they want to win the league / trophy, put the strongest at reserve & give him extra rides.1 point

He was at p and p . Thatās a start . That alone proved a lot of people wrong and to be honest reading some of the stuff on here if the real Craig cook rides for the season I hope he uses his ability to quieten the doubters and the haters . Never know Berwick could surprise people this season. If the team stay injury freešI think the tail end of the squad could be the trump card . Onwards and upwards one meeting at a time1 point

So a rider has a sponsorship with a certain manufacturer and wins it using a different manufacturer's wheel not good for him . What if some riders use conventional tubes and others don't . What if the rider likes his wheel balanced and another doesn't1 point
